Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta. One of the things i want to remind you guys is, I'm sure most of you may know that today is of the day of nine eleven, day that changed history, the day that changed so many things in modern day, especially concerning the United States of America. And I know a lot of you listen to me every single day from the United States of America, and I just, you know, I just want to reach out and in case any of you you know I've been a direct impact of what happened on ninety eleven, two thousand and one, I pray for you guys, I pray for your family.
I pray for all those who were affected by this. And you know, I love watching documentaries, and you know, or sometimes you know, a lot of you know, nine eleven related documentaries came up, and I know I don't overspend time. But then when I get to it, sometime maybe you know, take a break or something. You know, I was chaking out some of the things, and you know, the reality of it, like you know, hit me, you know, the what I imagine because I was a little kid when that happened, right I was, I was I was maybe like seven or eight years old when that happened.
And all I remember is, you know, some plane crashed into uh, you know, the two buildings, the twin towers. But as I saw these documentaries, one of the things that really shook me of how you know, the planes hit the towers and you know, the parts fell on people and even people who are down, you know, killed instantly, instantly, and you know, the stuff like that which I which I never comprehended before, which I never thought about before, and a lot of things what happened was you know, I want to get to this message for today, But then what I noticed was watching these videos, like I saw, they were minute by minute chances of people just you know, living or dying just because of where they were, what they were doing.
And you know, somebody just said, okay, let me go take the phone and come back or something like that, and they lost their life because of a few seconds or a few minutes. You know, it was a few minutes were a bit decisions of life and death, you know what I mean. Uh? And and I noticed that, you know, ever since this happened in my life, like even if I'm in my workplace, okay, usually I would keep the phone somewhere so that I don't get distracted, I would keep it. And then I would, you know, like even if I'm going, you know, to fetch water or going somewhere somewhere else, I wouldn't go take the phone because you know, let me just be free from the screen time.
But then after watching these videos, what happened was I started like anywhere I go, I would take the phone, like you know, you know, like expecting, like anywhere I go, I would immediately look for where is the emergency sign? You know what I mean. That's how it started imbibing in me. You know, I want you to pay attention because I'm going somewhere. And also one of the things that I came to know was that the sense of fear that was there in the entire place. You know, even though the four planes crashed, people were still thinking there were still more planes there that I were going to come and crash, or people in other towers around the country, you know, they were all evacuated.
People were in the bunkers in the White House. There were you know, I heard you know, even even in the field when the you know, another plane crashed, people thought, you know, maybe there's something in the field, and then they expected the plane to come back, another plane to come and crash in the same place. So, you know, there was so much of fear. There was so much of like, oh my gosh, uncertainty. I don't know what's going to happen, what's going to happen. And in life today, right a lot of people are living from the place of fear.
And as I explained to you guys, you know, when I started consuming that content, what I realized was it was it was changing what how I behaved, It was changing my school of thought. It was it was a place where I was like constantly, Like I hear even a small noise, I'm like, oh my gosh's that a you know, plane crashing or you know, you know what I mean. I still remember a couple of years ago, I think in two thousand and one, there was a bomb blast in Lunka on the Resurrection Sunday, and you know, there so many people were killed, you know again, and so such a sad thing.
And and the next week we were in church, and uh and and right behind the church there was some construction going on and some construction vehicle just fell, you know, or some items just fell, creating such a big, formuless kind of a noise. Everybody freaked out. You know why, because of what happened, you know, because of what happened in the past. See, if we're not denying the problems in the past, we're not denying what happened. We're not saying nine to eleven ever happened, you know, we're not saying that we understand or even for me, when I look at these documentaries, I realize the intensity of what happened on nine to eleven.
But but the thing is, you know, those are things that we understand and learn the best practices, to be careful, to be cautious, and you know, so many things, so many policies in the governments changed altogether around the world because of these incidents. All of that that that that is good, you know, learning from the past and all of that is good. But but what I want you to understand is, you know, you don't have to live in the place of fear. Like you know, I'm not saying that things won't happen or don't happen.
But you know, one of the things I want to share with you guys is Job said in Job three twenty five when he went through all of these things. This is what he said. I want to read from different translations to understand, help me understand the you know what he's saying, Yeah, he said, NNIV. It says what I feared has come to pass. What I dreaded has happened to me. If you look at analty, says what I always feared has happened to me, what I dread it has come to pass. You know, if you look at the English standard version, it says, for the thing that I fear comes upon me, and what I dread befalls me.
Vary in standard translation says, for the thing I feared has overtaken me, and what I dread it has befallen me. King James version for the thing which I greatly feared has come upon me. So when you look at all these translations, you know, I always look at different translations because you know, it gives us, gives us the depth of you know, what they're trying to say here. And when you look at what Joe was saying here, he says, this is what I was fearing that this would happen. And if you look at Enerty, he says, this is what I was always fearing.
You know, it's not something like one day fear kind of a thing. You know, sometimes you're in the elevator and suddenly, you know, elevator stops working and then you have a sudden fear like you know, maybe like a final Destination movie. Uh, you know, kind of an imagination that you get that that is like a sudden, one time fear, you know, kind of a thing that happens as humans, we and we go through that. But here's the thing he's saying, this is what I always feared. This is what I always feared, and what I always feared has overtaken me.
It has befallen me. It has happened, it has become true in my life. This is what Job was saying, which means that what he was enduring, what he was experiencing at that moment, was because of something that he was constantly fearing. Oh, this might happen, This might happen, This might happen. You know it's it's it's kind of like fear is like the opposite of faith. You know, when you have faith, you believe, you know God is going to do this for you. God is gonna help you reach your final destination.
God is gonna bless you. God is gonna lead you. God is going to direct your steps. God is gonna provide for you. God is gonna help me bring the right person across your part. God is gonna, you know, all of those things you know faith for how God is going to lead you through. You know that that is faith. But fear is just the opposite of What if this doesn't work out? What if I lose my job? What if you know, I never get somebody? What if you know, I meet up in an accident like this, What if this happens?
What if it you know, a lot of people are living in that sense of what if, that fear of the unknown, what if this happens? And sometimes, just like Joe, we could get in that place. You know, I had to be cautious, and I was like, oh my gosh, you know what, I'm seeing these documentaries for a while. You know, sometimes you have to be cautious when you understand that something is affecting you, something is changing your school of thought, something is controlling your mind. Don't let fear drive your life.
Guys, don't let fear drive your life. We're not saying you know, nothing bad will happen. No, you know, we pray because in the name of Jesus, God is able to protect us. We continue to look up to the Lord because you know, even through COVID, a lot of people who had faith, who looked up to the Lord, but still they ended up losing their life. And you know, we still pray for healing. I still believe in healing, and I will continue to pray for healing and all of those things. But but the truth is, you know, God, that's where you come to the place of absolute trust.
You know, I've come to that place of absolute trust. You know that my life is in this palm of God's hands. The Bible says he will fulfill the number of my days. You know, if somebody or if something happens to someone and you know, at some point maybe it was God's plan that you know, this is their goodbye on planet, or this is time to you know, transit from her. So look at it in that perspective and live from a place of peace. Live from a place because now more than ever, people are living from a place of fear.
Now more than ever, people are having so much of fear. Just as I'm recording, I think two or three days ago, there was an earthquake in Morocco. Praying for those people as well. Lord, I pray for those affected by all these different things happening in different places around the world. Earthquakes, let's thrive. In some parts of India, people are getting killed. A friend of mine is in ground zero. In those states, people are getting killed. There was a bomb last a couple of days ago. You know, a lot of things happening, guys.
We are not downsizing that people are living in fear, but we pray in the name of Jesus Christ that don't let fear stop you don't let fear be your guiding things that makes you feel like, oh my gosh, and it cousets you to experience that in your life because of that fear. Don't let that be a case. And I pray in the name of Jesus even today that all those are watching listening around the world. I pray once again, O God, for those who are affected by things like nine eleven. It may not be an eleven, it could be.
There was twenty six eleven happened in India in two thousand and eight. Things happening every single day. People are getting killed. There's a war happening in some parts of Asia, Ukraine and Russia. So you know, all sorts of things are happening. And we as Christians, we just believe us need to be bold and say, you know what, I have the line of Judah in me, and I'm gonna be bold and do what God wants me to do. I'm going to be bold and facing life and I'm going to be bold in stepping into the fullness of my God given destiny.
