0:52 Speaker 2: you today from an incident recorded in John chapter five

0:55 Speaker 2: and share something with you. There's a moment when Jesus

0:59 Speaker 2: is a roaching a man who had been a cripple

1:01 Speaker 2: for the past thirty eight years, and the Bible says

1:04 Speaker 2: in verse six, when Jesus saw him and knew he

1:08 Speaker 2: had been ill for a long time. Okay I'm reading

1:10 Speaker 2: from the LT version. Is what he says he had

1:13 Speaker 2: known that he had been in hell for a long time.

1:15 Speaker 2: The scrippled man, he asks him, would you like to

1:18 Speaker 2: get well? Would you like to get well? Now, think

1:21 Speaker 2: about this now in the nutshell, it feels like that's

1:24 Speaker 2: a very irrelevant question to ask. Like a person who

1:27 Speaker 2: is sick, obviously they want to get well. A person

1:31 Speaker 2: who's broke, obviously they want to get rich, or they

1:34 Speaker 2: want financial assistance. Somebody who is not faring well in school,

1:38 Speaker 2: they want some assistance so that they will be able

1:40 Speaker 2: to do better in their examinations. So why would Jesus

1:44 Speaker 2: ask this question, would you like to get well? In fact,

1:46 Speaker 2: the response the man gives is I can't, sir, for

1:50 Speaker 2: there's no one to help me get into the pool.

1:52 Speaker 2: When the water bubbles, someone else obways gets ahead of me.

1:56 Speaker 2: Now that's the context of the pool of Betesta, where

1:59 Speaker 2: every now and then the Angel of the Load will

2:01 Speaker 2: come and stir the water of the pool, and over

2:04 Speaker 2: jumped in first would get the miracle. Right, So this

2:07 Speaker 2: man is saying, I can't. I'm not able to get it.

2:11 Speaker 2: It just doesn't work for me. And he's been here

2:13 Speaker 2: in this state for the past thirty eight years. Right,

2:18 Speaker 2: and when Jesus asked him would you like to get well?

2:21 Speaker 2: It's like a position where God is asking this question

2:23 Speaker 2: to each one of us, where we are saying, yes,

2:26 Speaker 2: I'm stuck in this area. I'm not in a position

2:28 Speaker 2: to move. I'm not in a position to see a breakthrough.

2:31 Speaker 2: I feel like, you know what, this is the end

2:33 Speaker 2: of the road for me. Maybe in the area of relationship,

2:36 Speaker 2: you feel like, oh my gosh, I'm single for a

2:38 Speaker 2: long time, nothing is working, Or maybe you feel like

2:40 Speaker 2: there's a cycle of brokenness coming in through your family line,

2:44 Speaker 2: or maybe there is a cycle of just being broke,

2:47 Speaker 2: or money just comes and then it just runs away,

2:50 Speaker 2: like you don't understand what is happening, but there's something broken,

2:53 Speaker 2: and you're saying, what is going on? So the thing

2:56 Speaker 2: I wanted to understand is as much as you know

3:00 Speaker 2: we say that we want to be keyre, sometimes the

3:03 Speaker 2: question is are you actually in a sense comfortable or

3:07 Speaker 2: glad for that disadvantage in your life because you can

3:10 Speaker 2: use it as an excuse for you to not progress

3:14 Speaker 2: in your life. Think about this for a minute, because

3:16 Speaker 2: you see the reason why God asked this question is

3:19 Speaker 2: do you want to get well? Do you want to

3:20 Speaker 2: get out of this is because he wants to check

3:24 Speaker 2: what is your motive? Like a person who's broke, sometimes

3:27 Speaker 2: they say, you know what, I feel it's better because

3:30 Speaker 2: now I can just get this support system, you know,

3:33 Speaker 2: financial aid from somebody. I've seen people actually do that.

3:37 Speaker 2: They don't want to take up something because they just say, oh,

3:40 Speaker 2: you know what, being broke means, I get assistance from

3:42 Speaker 2: the government, or if I'm sick, I will get sympathy

3:45 Speaker 2: from people or some help from certain people. I can

3:49 Speaker 2: use this for my advantage. So the question to you

3:52 Speaker 2: is what is your motive? What is your actual thing

3:56 Speaker 2: within you? Do you really want to get well or

3:59 Speaker 2: do you actually be in a place where you're actually

4:02 Speaker 2: happy that you have this disadvantage for you? Do you

4:06 Speaker 2: actually feel like, you know what, I actually don't want

4:08 Speaker 2: to get well. I actually don't want that promotion. I

4:11 Speaker 2: actually don't want to get married. I actually don't want

4:13 Speaker 2: to move her head in life. I just feel like

4:16 Speaker 2: this is a good excuse for me to stay here

4:19 Speaker 2: and then blame everybody else or blame God for the situation.

4:22 Speaker 2: Think about this. I want you to check the intent

4:26 Speaker 2: of your heart, because I've seen people talk about this.

4:30 Speaker 2: I remember there was a moment where a man got

4:33 Speaker 2: healed in a renowned minister's healing crusade, and he got healed,

4:38 Speaker 2: he testified, and then later on when he was interviewed,

4:41 Speaker 2: he said he didn't get his healing. And when this

4:43 Speaker 2: renowned minister contacted him and said you got healed, why

4:47 Speaker 2: are you saying you didn't get healed? The man said,

4:50 Speaker 2: don't tell anyone. I get this subsidiary aid from this

4:55 Speaker 2: particular group. So if I tell I'm healed, they won't

4:59 Speaker 2: give me that aida go and work. And this minister

5:02 Speaker 2: god so and angry. He said, don't play games with God.

5:06 Speaker 2: And if you continue like this, you will get back

5:09 Speaker 2: that sickness. And I mean you can debate the geology

5:13 Speaker 2: of that statement, but yes the thing, that man got

5:16 Speaker 2: the sickness back after a couple of months and probably

5:19 Speaker 2: ended up dying as well. So the point I'm trying

5:21 Speaker 2: to say here is this, right, you you can't play

5:25 Speaker 2: games with God. Right when you say that you have something,

5:29 Speaker 2: are you using it as an excuse or do you

5:31 Speaker 2: actually want to get well? Do you actually want to

5:34 Speaker 2: see an improvement? Do you actually want to grow? And

5:39 Speaker 2: you know, see like for example, you know people ask

5:42 Speaker 2: me this question. You know you have all of these issues,

5:45 Speaker 2: these challenges. Are you using it as an excuse or

5:50 Speaker 2: is it actually something that you want to actual deliverance from?

5:54 Speaker 2: Think about this so today, if there's an area in

5:57 Speaker 2: your life where you know you feel stuck, you feel

6:01 Speaker 2: like nothing is moving and whatever, I want you to

6:03 Speaker 2: introspect the intent of your heart. Are you actually looking

6:08 Speaker 2: for a miracle in that area or are you just

6:11 Speaker 2: pushing away? Because here's the thing, what did Jesus do.

6:14 Speaker 2: Jesus didn't touch the man, or heal the man or anything.

6:16 Speaker 2: He just said, stand up, pick up your mat, and

6:19 Speaker 2: walk an instant miracle. That's what Jesus said. Today, the

6:23 Speaker 2: Lord is saying, you know what, if you're praying for

6:26 Speaker 2: the miracle that breakthrough, if that is not an excuse

6:29 Speaker 2: for you, I'm giving you this instruction to take this

6:33 Speaker 2: step of faith. I am giving you this instruction to

6:36 Speaker 2: do this. I'm giving you this instruction to receive this

6:39 Speaker 2: by a word of faith. Are you taking it or

6:44 Speaker 2: are you giving it as an excuse and just staying

6:47 Speaker 2: where you are? Today? I pray in the name of

6:49 Speaker 2: Jesus that this word will convict you to show you

6:52 Speaker 2: areas where you portray on the outside that oh my gosh,

6:57 Speaker 2: I'm stuck. I'm not able to move ahead because of

6:59 Speaker 2: this issue. But the real reason you're not getting deleverance

7:03 Speaker 2: from that issue is because you're actually not willing to

7:08 Speaker 2: pick up your matt pick up your excuses, get up

7:12 Speaker 2: and to take the step of faith that God is
