0:49 Speaker 2: Yes, we are in the exam season. We're going to talk about an important aspect on how to prepare for exams. In another sermon coming soon, I'm going to talk about how to face difficult subjects, how to face the fear of exams. But in today's topic, I'm going to talk about how to prepare for exams in general. So I'm going to share some practical points here. First and foremost, prepare with God's help. Probles three verse six says acknowledge God in all your ways, and He will direct your steps. So before you start studying.

1:23 Speaker 2: Acknowledge God, God, help me in this subject. Help me what should I study? What steps should I take? How can I study this in a different way and start involving God. He will give you creative ways to study. He has his own unique ways for you to study. Maybe, if you like singing, God can help you remember some formula through songs. Or if you like to remember through acronyms, God may give you some creative ideas on how to remember those formulae in chemistry or physics, or you know. God has a very creative approach to each person according to their creativity.

1:58 Speaker 2: And when you acknowledge God and the Holy Spirit, you will also tell you remember this because this is going to come in your exam, or to tell you don't study that because that may not come. Even those secrets. Sometimes the Holy Spirit will tell you. The second thing to renote is that you cannot be slacked. The Bible says in Proverbs, thenfore that you should not be slack. You should work hard. There is no substitute for working hard. When you're tempted to check your phone or you're tempted to just sleep, just think about the long term.

2:31 Speaker 2: Just have somebody as an accountability partner, or maybe you keep your phone with somebody else so that you make sure that you're working hard and not getting distracted and wilding away your time. And the third thing I would tell you is the Bible says in James one, verse five, to ask God for wisdom. When you ask God for his wisdom, there is a total different approach you will have with regard to your study. That's how you will know that worldly knowledge is different or not even to a small portion.

3:02 Speaker 2: You can compare it to the level of wisdom you can get when you get it directly from God. And the next thing I want to tell you is you need to always prepare for the worst in mind. They always say, even when you're flying a plane or you're going to climb Mount Everest, always prepare for the worst. Even if it's easy, it's great, but don't prepare thinking it should be easy. When you look at first Samuel seventeen, verse forty, it's very astonishing David only went to give food to his brothers, very menial task.

3:34 Speaker 2: But it says that even when he went to give food to his brothers, he was carrying the sling shot, and that is what was helping him to defeat Goliath. See, he didn't go there thinking he's going to defeat Goliath or he's going to face a big problem. He went there only for a small thing, but he was prepared. That's why I'm saying, when you're going to face an exam, be prepared for even a tough paper. And the last important point I want to share is a lot of people go to the other extreme where they overdo to a point where they affect their health.

4:06 Speaker 2: Don't do that. Understand, there was a moment when Elijah, the Mighty Prophet ended up going to a place where he was only eating and sleeping. That was the season of his life. It was not because he was lazy, but it was God preparing him for the big journey ahead of him, Which means that some seasons or sometimes you need to take time to rest, take time to replenish, take time to sleep, take time to take care of your health. Also while you're preparing for your exam. So in closing, I want to summarize all the five points to you once more, prepare with God's help, don't be slack, work hard, ask God for wisdom, Prepare for the worst, and don't overdo When you just keep this as your principle and do your best.
