Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta. Today. I love was just the writing back home from book. I just saw crossed me and it ran a cross on it, okay. And the minute I saw that, I was like, okay, that's a Christian. You know what I mean. We have a cross hanging from the rear view mirror that you see and so you just immediately say that that that person is a Christian. And then this thought just came to me, just this word just came into my spirit, reminding me of the scripture. Uh you know, it says John thirteen thirty five.
It says by this shall all men know you have my disciples when you have love one for another right and and and this funny thought just came to me, saying, by this, you shall know somebody's a Christian when you see a cross hanging out on their vehicle, you know, and and stuff like that. You know, I don't know that was who the person was. Nothing, but but this s thought just was coming to me, and I thought, you know, it so true, right, like so many times we let other people know who we are by our outward symbols, like you know, maybe a cross or way back, I remember, you know, like I used to be really proud of bearing across.
Even now I love bearing across because you know, I feel like, you know, that's the symblem that that's the hope that we have. But you know, you know of what Jesus did. It reminds of what Jesus did it, you know, even if other people started at you, it's like redirecting to what Jesus did on the Cross of Calvary. So we we are not underestimating the part of the cross on which Jesus Christ died and eventually he rose again from the grave. But but the truth I want to tell you is sometimes we focus so much on the outward stuff, like you know what, I have a cross, I have a Jesus sticker, I have you know somebody I could to charge.
And you're very open about all the religious stuff that you do, that sometimes you we miss out on the most important thing, that is, you know, to walk in love to little actual Christian life that we're supposed to live. And that was kind of like something the lordest reminded me and said, you see, you just gage that person who was a Christian because of the cross. But what does the scripture say. It doesn't say by everyone shall know that you're my Christian or you're my disciple by the cross that's there on your vehicle, but by your love.
And sadly, you see Christians, many of them i've seen, are so cold, you know, very very cold. There is no love. There is a sense of self pride. You know I'm saved especially you know I don't like name names. But then I'm telling you honestly, some people, especially when they call them says Calvinists and all of these things, I just don't like it because you know, they keep going around a lot of people keep attacking even me and keep attacking a lot of people. You know, we're the only ones who are saved.
We are saved. We are saved, We are saved. You know. I remember there was this guy, he was away from God. He got saved listening to one of my messages, and he turned out to become an extreme, you know, listening to some kind of preachers like Paul Washer and all of that extreme, you know, into Calvinism and sessionism, where they don't believe in the true part of the Holy Ghost, they don't believe in the anointing of God, they don't believe. You know, I don't like the name names, but today I just have to say this because you see, you know, some of those people I've seen are some of the most coldest people ever.
They're always targeting, they're always offensing, offensive, they're always you know, creating division and hatred. But we as Christians need to be people like Jesus kid to a place where we'd reach people through a love, not through division, not through going around exposing other people. See I'm not saying, you know, you see some false teaching, go and fall for it. That's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is there's a place where you and I need to get to that place of unconditional love. We have a greater mission in front of us.
Sometimes I know people who argue for the silliest of doctrinal differences. Kennethelly is something the Lord was showing me the other day or speaking to me the other day. He said, you know, listen, nobody's going to go to hell because of a small doctrinal difference. You know, and you look at me. I attend two different denomination churches every Sunday, and I watch a nonline church along with another church where I listened to the summon parts. So literally like three to four churches every Sunday, different altogether.
Each one have their own pleas, each one have their own minus. And this has got me to a place of understanding the perspective nobody is perfect, no church is perfect, no doctrine is perfect. And you and I ask Christians need to get to that place where instead of going in that place of pride and self righteousness thinking that you're the only one going to Heaven, get to that place where you can show loud to people. I give you that example of that guy right he got saved listening to me many years ago, he turned extreme.
He and three other friends of his, you know, used to go around with you know, putting down every single other person. You know. According to them, they were the only three people, you know, among that group or in the entire university. This was paid back when I was in the university. Okay, so they thought they were the only three people who are going to heaven. Everyone else is going to help. He said, I'm going to help. Somebody else is going here, you know, people either you know. I'll tell you guys, see, Hell is real.
I've shared this before with you guys as well. I believe in the reality of Hell. Jesus has shown me a glimpse of Hell. I've had a supernatural encounter where I've seen the reality of hell, and I can tell you Hell is real. But how do you portray it? Going and scaring the hell out of people. It's not going to change them. You know. About a week or two ago, a friend of mine in my workplace, she she she was sharing the she said, you know, I was about to convert to Christianity. I really like Christians was so nice, but this one person came up and said, you know, you know, you're going to Hell.
You're going to hell because Jesus is the only way, and you know, stuff like that, something something like that, and she said, you know what, I thought, Oh my goodness, they are going to convert us like this. I was really offended and I didn't want to have anything to do with Christianity because they're all off the conversion. This is what she said. And I ended up telling saying, listen, I'm not denying the reality of health. Okay, I'm not denying the reality of health. But then the truth is, she said, you know, John, you're the only one, even though you're your preacher and all of that.
But I'm comfortable talking because you're not trying to convert or be judgmental. You're just showing low. You're just you know, somebody I can trust, you know, be Christians are focused so much on being judgmental, you know, trying to convert, being open or nope, about those things. Why can't we show love to people? Why can't we You know, the scripture talks about, you know, speaking the truth in love. We speak about speaking the truth, speak the truth. That's exactly what I did. I said, you know, I'm not denying the reality of hell, but and I shared my experiences of Hell.
I shared the gospel, but I said, you know it's it's it's like this. You know, when when you have something, when you look at a little kid, the little kid will explain with very much of crudeness. There won't be any you know, filtration, just unadulted truth or something like that. Kid, A little kid will be very blunt, but a person who's mature will filter it out through love. Today, I'm asking you this question. I use somebody who's just chasing people away? Or are you drawing people towards the Lord?
By the shall know that you are the disciple of Jesus Christ, not by what you do, not by what you preach, not by your outside symbols and emblems, but by your law, but by your law.
