Finding GOD's Will Sermon Series Part 21 - The Lifestyle of Walking in the Spirit | John Giftah | Christian Sermon

previous episode of the series that we're doing on Knowing and finding God's will for

a life, I shared about the aspect of being led by the Holy Spirit,

and I told you that this is very, very important if you really

want to see the life that God has called you to live, because you

know when you can have direct access with your creator, of the very God

who created the events and they are the very God who controls everything, the

very God who created you for a reason and the purpose, and who has

the blueprint for your life. That God is living on the inside of you.

In the person of the Holy Spirit. So you have a direct access

with God and you have direct access to information other people do not have.

So why do you want to neglect this aspect of allowing the Holy Spirit to

direct you in your decision making or the Holy Spirit to lead you into finding

God's will for your life. So you have to remember the importance of being

led by the Spirit of God. And I want to start off by sharing

a scripture with you and then take it to the next step that I want

to share in today's episode. And this is found in Galations chapter five,

sixteen to eighteen, and this is what it says. So I say,

walk in the spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

For the flesh desires what is contrary to the spirit and the spirit what

is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so

that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you're led by

the spirit, you're not under the law. Now, this scripture shares a

lot of insights with us on the aspect which I told you in a couple

of episodes ago about how just because you have a desire doesn't mean it can

be from God. You can have desires which will not align with God's standards.

They can be the desires of the flesh, and the desires of the

flesh are always contrary to the desires of the spirit. So you have to

remember that in your life in every decision you make, when you say,

you know what I want to align with the will of God. I want

my life to, you know, be synked with God's plan, will and

purpose for my life. I want my life to be a total surrender to

what God has ordained for my life, to be in line with His will,

plan, and purpose. So when you say that, you have to

remember this important truth that as an individual, as long as you live on

planets earth, there's always this constant war fair that's going on within you.

Why because your flesh desires to do things which does not align with the standard

of God's word. So there's a constant thing that needs to happen in every

decision along the way, every decision you make when you want to say,

in this decision, whether I want to do what I want or whether I

want to do what God wants, that's what the Bible says. You know,

you are not to do whatever you want, but you have to constantly

have that warfare in which you need to allow the spirit to win over it.

You get what I'm saying. It's it's like what they say, you

know, within a person there are two wolves. Okay, one is a

good one and one is a bad one, and you have to constantly ensure

that you don't feed the wrong wolf. That is, don't feed the flesh,

but rather feed the spirit, the great wolf. This is an anecdotal

a lot of people share, and that is kind of like what I want

to share today that in your life, in every decision you make, it's

it's a constant thing that you need to make a conscious effort. You need

to start off with that conscious effort where you say, Okay, you know

what, in every decision I make anything, I say, anything, I

do, anything I want to initiate or wherever I want to go. In

every decision, every choice, I want to ensure that it's not coming from

a place of the flesh. It's not coming from my evil desires. It's

not coming from the desires of the flesh, but rather it is coming from

the spirit. So it's it's like a battle you need to fight for every

choice you make every decision you make. I hope you're able to understand.

And so once you establish that there's a constant thing, you make a conscious

effort initially, you know, so that you know, you don't gratify the

flesh, you don't go by the flesh, but you constantly give yourself into

the Holy Spirit. You allow the Holy Spirit to lead you. You heal

to the spirit. So what happens is, see, when you start driving

a vehicle for the very first time, what happens every step you are so

conscious about, right, Okay, you sit in the vehicle, you check

the gear, you check the you know, the rear of the mirror,

if it is in the proper angle. You check everything, and you take

one step at a time. Right, You're very conscious about every step.

But when you keep driving, what happens you just start driving from your subconscious

mind. You don't literally, you know, become conscious about every step or

whether I put the light, or whether I put the gear in the right

place, or whether the ray of hu mirror is proper or you know,

you don't, you know, put the same amount of conscious effort the way

you used to put when you started driving. Right, when once you get

into it, it becomes in something like a part and parcel of your subconscious

mind. You just just do it right, You get what I'm saying.

Um, Like, when I started driving, I would be like, oh

my goodness, whether this is fine, whether I've turned the you know,

the standing wheel in the right angle, and you know you're conscious about everything

so much. But now when I drive, I will be listening to music,

I will be worshiping a lot on one side, or I will be

you know, you know, just in a totally different world. I mean,

like I won't even bother to you know, take a conscious step of

every thing while driving. You get what I'm saying. Why because what started

off in a conscious step by step away as just going out engraved in my

subconscious mind. You get what I'm saying, right, So that is the

kind of a place you get to when the Bible says that you start walking

in this spirit. So when you started step right, like, you take

that conscious step. Okay, I need to walk in the spirit in every

decision. So I need to see, Okay, in this decision I'm making

Holy Spirit lead me, help me. So you know you're consciously allowing the

Holy Spirit to direct your step and you take that step by step thing.

Right, But once you get deep into this, once that becomes your lifestyle,

what happens subconsciously you will start walking in this spirit. And that is

the place that you and I need to strive to get to where you go

to a place where automatically you will do what God wants you to do because

you're so engrossed in walking in the spirit. You are so engulfed in the

spirit. You're immersed in the spirit, in the presence of God. So

you're so immersed in it that you know, like when you are immersed in

water, every part of your body will be wet. Why because you're immersed

in the water, right, you get what I'm saying. So the same

way, when you're immersed in the spirit, what happens is automatically every decision

that you take will start being in line with the spirit and not in the

flesh. I'm not saying that you go to a place that you will never

have issue with the flesh. Okay, as long as you're own planet art.

Because of the fallen nature of man, there is an issue where there's

a battle that needs to be you know, fought with regard to the flesh.

But the truth is this, you go deep to a place where subconsciously

you will do what the Spirit wants you to do. And that is a

deeper level that you go to. What is the difference between the previous level

and this level? Let me explain. Okay, in the previous level,

you consciously make the effort in every decision you make or take to ensure that

you're allowing the Holy Spirit's guidance to be the decision making factor for you.

Okay, it's a conscious effort. But in this level, what happens is

you're you're completely led by this spirit. You're completely walking in the spirit where

what you say is what the Lord wants to say. You're you're sinc with

the spirit. That's what I'm trying to tell you. You're so sincd with

the Spirit that you know what you do becomes what he wants you to do,

what you say becomes what he wants you to say. And it's not

a conscious effort. It just comes from a place of sub consciousness and you

automatically start doing things that you never thought, like, oh, my goodness,

I didn't know that was actually led by the spirit. That's the way

you go to that place when you start walking in the spirit. So when

you want to know God's will and you want to know God's purpose, you

start walking in the spirit. You won't even know how. Sometimes just random

moves that the Spirit leads you to make will actually have big impact in your

life. That's what I want you to understand, just random moves. I've

seen this so many times in my life when the law took me to this

level where you know, it's like wow, just the Spirit just led me

to say something or do something, and that would be something that would make

such a drastic impact in my life or the ministry, or something that opened

opportunities for me that I never thought coming. But it all came with just

a spirit directing my steps. Amen. So that's why today I encourage you

to start walking in this spirit. Go to a place where you have this

lifestyle of being led by the spirit. It's not something that you just do

in the morning or when you're making a decision and then sleep. That's not

the way it's supposed to be. When you're constantly walking in the spirit.

When you're when you're having that lifestyle of being led by the spirit, what

happens is the Spirit leads you in times and places and you know with regard

to people or opportunities that you didn't even expect coming. Sometimes you know,

you think it is just an ordinary moment, But when you allow the Holy

Spirit to direct you in those moments, those ordinary moments will actually bring forward

something drastic and something so amazing in your life. Right. So today,

in your quest to discover your purpose, to discover your the God's will for

your life, I encourage you, you know, to go to that deeper

level where you're constantly walking in the spirit, constantly, you know, allowing

the Spirit to win over rather than you're given to your flesh and the desires

and to do whatever you feel like. And when you do that, when

you're led by the spirit, and when you're going to that deep level where

walking in the spirit becomes an effort in your subconscious mind, I'm telling you

you have no idea what God can do in and through your life. Amen.
