0:46 Speaker 2: Hello everyone, welcome to this edition of the Fuel for the Soul with John Gifter podcast. All through this week, we're going to look at various lessons that we can take away from 2 Kings chapter 20, revolving around the story of the King Hezekiah. See, one of the things I want to start off by is when you see the first verse, it says about that time, I'm reading from the NLT version already, it says Hezekiah, the king, became deadly hill. Okay, we're going to look at various aspects of the story in the next few days but I want you to pay attention to this Hezekiah is in a very bad shape he is in a place where if you look at the different translations it says that he is in having some illness which is going to result in death I don't know who I'm talking to but some of you are watching or listening and you're saying John my situation is very deadly maybe you are facing a sickness which the doctors have said that you will never be able to recover you need to learn to live with this for the rest of your life or maybe you are actually listening to this after a time when the doctors have actually told you that you know what you're not going to survive for more than this much of time and you're saying john i do not understand how i can ever have any kind of a hope of living any longer than this.

2:03 Speaker 2: Or maybe you are not facing a physical death. Maybe you're facing something else. Maybe death, D-E-B-T, is affecting you. You're in a place where you feel like, oh my goodness, John, I'm struggling financially. I'm taking so many loans. I've taken so many things. And it's like, All these things are coming against me and I do not know what to do because I was reading about this investor the other day of how he went to this place where he felt like there was no way to turn around. He had gone too much in the debt.

2:37 Speaker 2: And he had no way out and he ended up ending his life. Today, you may be contemplating those thoughts. You may be thinking, John, there's no practical way for me to ever recover from this. There's no way for me to ever see better days coming into my life. Maybe you made some mistakes that led you to where you are. Sometimes when we see about people who are incarcerated for a long period of time or sometimes for decades, their entire lifespan they are incarcerated and they feel like you know what i'm never ever gonna get out of the portals of this prison anymore because of my choices maybe you maybe you are watching or listening from a person or maybe you are watching listening from a situation which feels like i have to live with the consequence of my mistake for the rest of my life or maybe life just happened to you and you are in a very deadly state but today i want to give you a word of hope I want to give you a word of encouragement.

3:32 Speaker 2: I want to give you a word of challenge to tell you that you may be in a midst where it feels like your life is at stake, but we serve a God who can still turn the situation around in your life. God is a God of miracles. When you see Hezekiah, when he was in a deathbed, it felt like there was no way out for him. But what God did was He turned his life around and he was able to live 15 more longer years. I want to tell you something, dear Saints of God. When I was 45 days old, the doctors told me that there was no way for me to be alive.

4:06 Speaker 2: They said that, you know what, we have come to the best of all our medical expertise. We have come to the best of everything that we can do, but there's no way this baby is going to survive. You better call all the relatives and say that this baby is going to die. But I'm here to announce to you that the Lord who changed my life from being in the deathbed to coming here and ministering to you and to millions across the globe. I want to tell you that's the God who can turn the situation around in your life.

4:36 Speaker 2: Whether you're facing a sickness, whether you're facing a financial trouble, whether you're facing some challenges in your relationship or your marriage or your family and you think I have to live with this for the rest of my life. Maybe there is somebody in your family who is struggling because of some health conditions and you have to struggle because of being associated with them or maybe there are things that you're dealing with which feels like this is how my life is always going to be i can never get an hedge in life this is something i need to learn to live with but i'm telling you we serve a god of miracles Just last week, I had the opportunity to travel to the northeastern part of India called Assam.

5:20 Speaker 2: And one of the things I wanted to understand is it was the region in Assam and Meghalaya. These are the states that I was traveling to and ministering in a couple of months. churches and healing meetings and also a book conference and some local television channels and all of these things that happened. But I want you to understand during that period they brought in a person who had experienced some kind of paralysis. So he could not lift his hand beyond this. He had to be helped in by people to be brought to the prayer meeting.

5:55 Speaker 2: And they said, can you pray for him? And I'm telling you, honestly, I've seen many cases of miracles. So I know that God still he is at the same time being genuinely. You know, being open with you. There are cases I prayed for and people have not got healed. So I was like, God, I don't know. My compassion for them was great. I was like, God, I don't want this person to be like this. Please heal. And I just prayed for this person. And from this level, immediately he was able to lift this hand. The person got healed instantly.

6:27 Speaker 2: and he actually started walking a little saying you know what i'm able to walk by myself see i want you to understand it felt like he had to live with this paralysis for the rest of his life there have been cases of people who have been suffering with cerebral palsy or certain cases where you feel like you have to live with this for the rest of your life Or maybe people who have got into generational financial deaths. You know, the other day I came across an article about somebody who has been suffering for three generations of slavery in some part of the world because of financial death.

7:07 Speaker 2: And I was like, listen to this. Maybe if they had a way out, they would love to have a way out. But then they are stuck. It is like this is how their end is going to be. That is how it feels like. Today, you may be feeling like that. This is the end for me. There is no way out for me. I remember this popular TV show or I think it's also on Netflix or something. It's called The Orange is the New Black or something on those lines. Here's the thing. In that, there is this person who's suffering from terminal cancer and And this entire show is all about those who are incarcerated for a long period of time and all of this.

7:52 Speaker 2: And she is happening to tell somebody else. She says, listen, even if you spend time behind bars, you have an opportunity to go out and live your life. But this is how my life is going to end. Behind bars, with this terminal cancer, and... You know, it's a very sober moment when she shares this. See, you may feel like, oh, that's just a TV show. But think about this. Maybe in some way your life feels like that. You feel like this is how I'm going to die. This is how my life is going to end. I'm never going to come out of this death.

8:27 Speaker 2: I'm never going to see better days. I'm never going to see my health improve. I'm never going to see things turning around. But I want to announce to you that The same God who was able to bring Hezekiah from the dead bed and give him a new lease of life. The same God who was able to turn my life around from the dead bed, from a death sentence from the doctor to say, you know what, you're going to minister to multitudes. I'm here to announce to you, God is going to turn your life around. God is going to make your life be a channel of blessing to multitudes in Jesus mighty name.
