Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta.
Speaker 2: Helloveryone. Welcome to this edition of the Field for the Soul with John Gifta podcast. All through this week, we're looking at how as Christian should we respond when we see injustice happening all around us. It could be in the nation, as it happening in many nations like India, for instance, or it could be in your vicinity of your community, your church, your ministry, or it could be in your neighborhood, your school, your college, your office, wherever it is. When you see injustice, when you see something is not the way it's supposed to be how are you dealing with it?
Speaker 2: See, were living in a time and age where everybody wants to quickly respond on social media. They just want to put their thoughts out there or I just want to speak my mind. They just say things without even thinking about it. But one of the things I always tell people is that before you just hastily just react, when you just hear something or see something and just get aroused by all that you see that's being fed to you on social media, get to that place where you shoot out a word of prayer and say, Lord, what do you want me to do about this situation?
Speaker 2: Because I want you to understand when you pray, God will give you the wisdom you need and the strength you need and the ability for you to make the discernment. And because when you pray, God will give you the wisdom you need, and he will also enable you to respond in an effective manner. Because that is what is lacking. People are just reacting aimlessly without praying and discerning and taking effective steps that comes by following the leading of the Holy Spirit. See today, I want to talk about one important aspect here in whichever area you see this injustice or you see that there are different things that's happening.
Speaker 2: I'm going to share a lot of scriptures with you. First thing I want to talk about is when HESTER came to know that there was something wrong. You have to understand. In Esther four verse sixteen, she calls everybody together to fast. She calls everybody together saying she's not acting immediately. She's not reacting immediately because I want you to understand the first place that you need to get to is to get your spiritual aspect of life together. You need to first be in the right posture of your heart to be able to hear God's voice, to be able to discern God's leading.
Speaker 2: What is God asking you to do? Even when all the injustice in India was happening, I didn't jump into the bandwagon and respond or start posting exactly how everybody else was doing, even though I was pressured in some ways to do it. I didn't do that because I didn't want to just post to get views, posts to get virality. No, I wanted to be in that place where what is the Lord asking me to do? Am I really called to respond in a certain way, or am I responding out of my emotions? Or am I actually responding how God wants me to respond to the situation.
Speaker 2: Are you getting what I'm saying? This is the way you need to respond when you see how things are not working out the way it's supposed to be. So, there are a lot of things I want to talk about. First things, I want to share a few script just with you. The Bible says in Second Chronicles seven, verse fourteen, it says, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Speaker 2: Today, I do not know what your land is. It could be your country. It could be your city. It could be your community. It could be your neighborhood. It could be your ministry. It could be your job, it could be your family. Whatever land is, whatever needs that healing, whatever needs God's deliverance, whatever needs God's attention, God's hand to change, the change, the change, whatever is happening right now to turn around for good? What should you do? Humble yourself and pray seek the Lord. See.
Speaker 2: I want you to understand. You may say, like, why should have bothered about the country. I mean like, I'm fine, I have a job, I have my family. The Bible says in Jeremiah twenty nine, verse seven, it says, seek the peace and prosperity of the city in which you are pray for it, for if it prospers, you too will prosper Okay, if you think that, you know what, I don't have to worry about the economy of the country. No, if the economy gets better, you will also be able to get better. You will be able to be a greater source of blessing to multitudes.
Speaker 2: If you're saying, oh, I'm just able to pay my bills, So what God wants to bless you in now? So that you can pay the bills of somebody else? Oh I have a happy family. So word so that if you ask God for more, or if the economy gets better, or if you're able to have more financial support, you could probably support other charitable organizations. You could run homes yourself. Think about it. Don't just live for yourself. Live to build a kingdom. Don't just live to pay your own bills. Live to build the kingdom through your life.
Speaker 2: To be the light in the darkness. Think about this. Are you just living for yourself or are you having that heart to build the kingdom, in which case you'd gotta get to pray. You can't think it's not my problem. No, you gotta pray for the peace and the prosperity of your land. Whether it's the country, or it is your community, your church, your ministry, whatever it is, you gotta pray for it. And the Bible also says if you look at Ezra six, verse ten, it again tells us to pray for the well being of the kings and his sons, well being of the king and his sons.
Speaker 2: If you see in First Timothy chapter two, verses one and two, when you see it is asking us to first of all pray intercede for everybody, for all people, And it goes on to say for also kings and those in authority, that we may live peacefully and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. If Christians are just saying I'm called to just win souls and not to win seats for a political party, they're missing out that. If they are not standing firm on the right political party, to stand up for the right policy makers, to actually support godly values, to be in the government.
Speaker 2: What is going to happen. Probably your rights to preach are going to be taken away. Probably your rights to have good quality, Christian valued principles and policies will not be there. And you're going to sit and complain again. Oh, look at the garment. It's corrupt. It's because you didn't do anything about it. That's the problem. Today. I'm asking you, are you praying because it has to start with prayer. Esther did not just act immediately she started, but fasting. Fasting and prayer is instrumental because only when you start from that place of prayer.
Speaker 2: What happens when you pray? And I've shared this so many times with you, guys, prayer is not talking to God. Prayer is not a ritual. Prayers is not an act or I just pray Lord do something and then go on no, or I don't just pray Lord change this situation around and didn't go on no. Or you don't just say Lord and just say whatever you want to say and just forget like a ritual. No, prayer is not talking to God. Prayer is talking with God, which means when you pray, you need to be in the place where you can hear the voice of God, and you need to hear what God is asking you to do and do that.
Speaker 2: That is what is the effective response that you will get. Because prayer is not just putting the ball on God's court and saying, God, you should do and you just sit back and sip a cup of coffee. No, you pray and ask what is the Lord asking you to do. We're going to talk about other ways to respond in the next couple of episodes, but I want you to think about this. Are you seriously praying about it? As much as you're complaining about the policies, as much as you're complaining about your job, as much as you're complaining complaining about the culture in the workplaces, as much as you're complaining about the rise in unemployment, as much as you're complaining about the health crisis or how the healthcare system is not at its best, Are you praying about it?
Speaker 2: Are you sharing this with the Lord and saying, God, raise some leaders who will be the channel of blessings to change these things and help me to identify and pray and support them. Or if the Lord is raising you to be that leader, I pray that you will have that wisdom to take the right steps, the courage to step out of your boat so that you will not just complain, but you will partake. You will partner with God and say, God, whatever be. It helped me to stand out and see a difference. You see, guys, many times we don't know the value of what we have,
Speaker 2: even though it feels like, Oh, I'm just an ordinary person. Can I tell you something? God and you from the majority. Even if you feel like you are a minority in a country, God and you are still a majority. God can bring down regimes. God can tear down principalities. God can crush empires in the blink of an eye. So devil think that, oh, it's just me. What is my prayer going to do? You have no idea what God can do When God is involved in this. He can change the policy of your organization. He can change the healthcare system like anything.
Speaker 2: He can change rulers. He can make us all become a all in the blink of an eye. The question is do you believe that He can still do that and pray with that faith. I challenge you to do that. I really recommend you to leave a comment. If you're checking this out on YouTube or Facebook and chat this with someone and I will see you back next time. God bless you.
