Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John.
Speaker 2: Gift this edition of the Fuel for the Soul with
Speaker 2: John GIFTA podcast. I just want to take this time
Speaker 2: to let you know that this old week, we're looking
Speaker 2: at various lessons that we can take away from the
Speaker 2: life of Moses, especially looking at Extradus chapter two. One
Speaker 2: of the things I want you to understand is that
Speaker 2: in your life, you may be looking at it as
Speaker 2: a sense of like, oh, my goodness, John, there's so
Speaker 2: much happening, and I'm really scared. There are people getting
Speaker 2: laid off, there are people getting sicknesses, there are people
Speaker 2: losing their loud ones, there are people losing their life
Speaker 2: in most unexpected ways, or there are a lot of
Speaker 2: things happening that you can't even imagine, like, oh my gosh,
Speaker 2: what is happening. Their crime rates are is mind boggling,
Speaker 2: and the way people are behaving, it just makes me
Speaker 2: get so scared, John, I do not know how I'm
Speaker 2: going to face my future. Maybe today you have the
Speaker 2: fear of the future, Maybe you have the fear of
Speaker 2: how you're going to handle things in your life, or
Speaker 2: maybe it's regard to a loud one you're saying, my kid,
Speaker 2: how is she going to make it through life? How
Speaker 2: is he going to make it through life? Or whatever
Speaker 2: it is today. I want you to understand this is
Speaker 2: a word I want to encourage you because when you
Speaker 2: look at the life of Moses, Moses was born at
Speaker 2: a time where all the male babies were ordered to
Speaker 2: be killed. Okay, it was a very scary place to be.
Speaker 2: And it was not just an order that came from
Speaker 2: a council member or it came from the governor or someone.
Speaker 2: It came from the pharaoh. And understand, this was at
Speaker 2: a time when Egypt was the most powerful nation in
Speaker 2: the world of that time, which means he was the
Speaker 2: most powerful man in the old world. An order from
Speaker 2: the most powerful man in the Old world to kill
Speaker 2: all the male babies. So it was not an easy thing.
Speaker 2: So think about this how it would have been at
Speaker 2: such a time when Moses is being born. It feels
Speaker 2: like Moses was born at an unlucky time or something.
Speaker 2: That's how we would look at if we do not
Speaker 2: have faith in what the Lord was doing. But I
Speaker 2: wanted to understand something very important here. Even in the
Speaker 2: midst of that when many babies were killed, so many
Speaker 2: babies were killed, there was something you need to understand
Speaker 2: that Moses's mom saw that he was a fine child.
Speaker 2: She hid him for three months. Understand something here. When
Speaker 2: you have a destiny to fulfill, nobody can stop what
Speaker 2: God has in store for you. God will make the
Speaker 2: right people to take risks for you. When there were
Speaker 2: so many other mothers who loved their babies as much
Speaker 2: as Moses' mom, they did not take the risk that
Speaker 2: Moses' mom took. They did not take that risk, or
Speaker 2: maybe they tried to take the risk, but it didn't work. Today,
Speaker 2: I want you to understand the fact that you have
Speaker 2: seen that somebody took the risk for you. The fact
Speaker 2: that you saw that somebody went the extra mile for you,
Speaker 2: the fact that you saw that somebody else we're willing
Speaker 2: to sacrifice their life for you, shows that you know
Speaker 2: what you're not ordinary. God has a plan for your life.
Speaker 2: God has a purpose for your life. Today, I want
Speaker 2: you to understand something here. You know, God protected you.
Speaker 2: Maybe there's some area in your life you can look
Speaker 2: back and say, many many years ago, maybe when you
Speaker 2: were a kid, maybe when you were like twenty years old,
Speaker 2: or maybe twenty years ago, forty years ago, there was
Speaker 2: somebody who took a step to protect you. Remember that
Speaker 2: Moses experienced this. And what I wanted to understand is
Speaker 2: the Bible station was three. When she could no longer
Speaker 2: hide him, she got a ty papyrus basket for him
Speaker 2: and coated it with tar and pitch. Okay, she protected
Speaker 2: Moses in this. Okay, she didn't just do an upposide
Speaker 2: manner like, she didn't just took some basket. She didn't
Speaker 2: just take something out there. No, no, no, she took steps,
Speaker 2: all right, and then she placed him in it and
Speaker 2: put him among the reeds along the bank of the river,
Speaker 2: and his sister stood at a distance to see what happened.
Speaker 2: I wanted to see the hand of God in this.
Speaker 1: I wanted to.
Speaker 2: See because you see, when so many babies were getting killed,
Speaker 2: many mothers they would have loved their kids as much
Speaker 2: as Moses is. But maybe they were not willing to
Speaker 2: take the risk, or maybe they took Christs and still failed.
Speaker 2: But I wanted to understand when moses mom took the step,
Speaker 2: she was intentional. She she didn't just be like, okay, fine,
Speaker 2: you know what, I hate him for three months, let
Speaker 2: him just something, let it just let me just it's
Speaker 2: it's not in my hands. She could have just anyway.
Speaker 2: She she may not have the guarantee of ever meeting
Speaker 2: him again, so she could have just put him in
Speaker 2: a normal basket and sent But you see, she took
Speaker 2: the step to quot it with tar and pitch. I
Speaker 2: wanted to understand there's a reason why. Because when she
Speaker 2: put Moses in the Nile River, we we don't realize
Speaker 2: this because most people just read the Bible stories in
Speaker 2: a very uhficial manner or surface level. I wanted to
Speaker 2: understand the Nile River had a very dangerous species of crocodiles, okay.
Speaker 2: And the name of that crocodile is according to the
Speaker 2: original thing, it's called the crocodile is Nilo tickus. Okay.
Speaker 2: I'm very bad with names, right. I wanted to get
Speaker 2: this because I wanted to understand. I'm not making this
Speaker 2: up right. It's called the crocodile Nilo tickets. So this
Speaker 2: is a very large native crocodile. And one of the
Speaker 2: things about this crocodile is this, okay. These are one
Speaker 2: of the very few species that view humans as their
Speaker 2: source of food rather than a threat, which means that
Speaker 2: these crocodiles not only look at humans as a threat,
Speaker 2: they look at humans as a source of food. This
Speaker 2: was dangerous territory that Moses was going into. See, I
Speaker 2: want you to understand. God never said your life will
Speaker 2: be easy. God never said that when you accept Me
Speaker 2: as your personal Lord and savior, that you're going to
Speaker 2: have the enemy giving you a red carpet to go
Speaker 2: and fulfill your purpose. No, He's going to throw in troubles.
Speaker 2: And here you see, the crocodiles that Moses faced were
Speaker 2: not ordinary. They were one of the most dangerous crocodiles.
Speaker 2: And yet God was protecting Moses see, here's the same thing.
Speaker 2: You see, Moses's mother took the step to make sure
Speaker 2: that she didn't just put him in a basket and
Speaker 2: send him. She made sure that the basket was the
Speaker 2: best that she could She she had the spirit of excellence. See,
Speaker 2: God will cause the right people to show that kindness
Speaker 2: and the and the spirit of excellence and the and
Speaker 2: and the bright thought. Maybe other mothers did not think
Speaker 2: that way, but Moses his mother thought that way. And
Speaker 2: the other thing you see is that not only you
Speaker 2: see God's hand, you know, convicting Moses' mother to do
Speaker 2: things in a certain way, but God also protected Moses
Speaker 2: from one of the deadliest species in that region, these crocodiles.
Speaker 2: We read the story like, oh, you know, Moses was
Speaker 2: put in the Nile River, but most people don't realize
Speaker 2: the depth of the incident because we think of it
Speaker 2: like a story, not realizing the reality of this story.
Speaker 2: Because you see, these crocodiles were dangerous and the currents,
Speaker 2: also depending on the weather, were dangerous. Sometimes they were
Speaker 2: not that dangerous in the Egyptian region, but sometimes they
Speaker 2: were pretty dangerous. So Moses was going into very dangerous territory.
Speaker 2: And the thing you need to understand is Moses had
Speaker 2: no control of it. That's another message altogether. But I
Speaker 2: want to tell you something. He had no control. But
Speaker 2: God was protecting Moses even when nothing was in control,
Speaker 2: nothing was in his control. Today. That's the word I
Speaker 2: want to tell you that you may be saying, John,
Speaker 2: I'm really scared. I don't know what's happening with my life.
Speaker 2: I do not know what other dangers are in front
Speaker 2: of me. Like how Moses did not know about the
Speaker 2: dangers he was going through because he was just three
Speaker 2: months old. He did not know that he was in
Speaker 2: a basket. He did not know he was surrounded by
Speaker 2: dangerous crocodiles. Moses did not know that. But God was
Speaker 2: protecting Moses. And I want to tell you something. God
Speaker 2: is protecting you from dangers that you do not know about.
Speaker 2: God is watching after you. That is where I want
Speaker 2: you to trust him and say, God, I do not
Speaker 2: know what are the dangers or I may know certain
Speaker 2: dangers in front of me, But I pray in Jesus'
Speaker 2: name that God will give you the strength and the
Speaker 2: comfort to know that He will protect you. He will
Speaker 2: watch over you, he will lead you, and he will
Speaker 2: direct you to where you need to go if you're worried, like,
Speaker 2: oh my gosh, John, but that's a very scary place
Speaker 2: to be to leave, lose control and to actually let
Speaker 2: go and go. Well, I want you to hold on
Speaker 2: because tomorrow I'm going to share an important word with
Speaker 2: regard to that, and I will see you back very soon.
Speaker 2: I challenge you to leave a comment if you're checking
Speaker 2: this on YouTube or Facebook, and also shout us with
Speaker 2: someone whom you know needs to hear this word and
