take a break. This is Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta. We're

discussions and interviews. You'll be inspired to live the life that you were created
for. Your host is a top ranking podcaster, best selling author, world
record holder, aerospace engineer, life coach, evangelist and founder of John Gifta
International. Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta. When you think
off the scriptural aspect of how the Bible says that after God had created the
heavens and the earth and everything in it, the Bible says that he took
rest right. And also you have to understand that you know one of the
verses that really if you see in the Old Testament, of course, it's
in Liberticus twenty three, verse three. This is what it says, and
I'm reading from the nib version. It says there are six days when you
may work, but on the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest a
day of sacred assembly. You shall not do any work wherever you live.
It's a sabbath to the Lord. Now you have to understand something very fortunt
you. You may say, John, that's in the Old Testament. We
are not bound by these laws. You have to understand, Yes, we
are not bound by the law, and we cannot presume to say, you
know what, this is the particular day of the week that has to be
observed as the Sabbath. But you also have to understand that there are certain
principles that we can understand from the scripture, even when you look at the
Old Testament, where there were certain things that the or that told them,
you know, for the children of Israel when he said, for example,
he said, you know, don't eat the meat of pigs for example,
right, Um, the reason being it is not a healthy choice. It's
not good for your health in the long run. That's the reason. So
if you refrain from eating poor you're preventing your body from getting affected. That
that's the that's the thing. But it's not gonna be in a place today
where you say, you know, that's an Old Testament thing. Yes,
it's an Old Testament thing. But then it's a good principle to follow.
Right, If if you eat a lot of polk, it's going to affect
your health, So that way, it's it's a better option to refrain from
eating folks. So kind of like that. You know, there are certain
principles, even if it's in the Old Testament, even if it's under the
leptical law. If if there are certain principles, if you inculcating your everyday
life, it can help you. You get what I'm saying, it will
help you. And you know, today in this world, there is so
much happening, right, everybody is so much on a rat race in life.
You know, a pillar to post going after deadlines. Maybe if you're
studying, maybe you have a you're just getting done with one course examination and
then suddenly the next project shows up, or or maybe you're at work,
you just finish one deadline and then some other new assignment comes and then you
have a constant need to prove yourself or stand on the top of the game,
and you know, so on and so for this this is constant rat
race and mad race in life. You know, or even if you talk
about being a social media influencer, or you put one post and then you
get a certain kind of uh, you know response, and then you kind
of put similar posts that will garner the response that you're desiring for. It's
a constant thing. It's not like once done and done once and for all.
It's not like that, right, We need to constantly keep doing and
and and in that there's so much of burnouts, you know, those So
many people are experiencing burnouts in their life, and so many people are going
through moments when they're so frustrated they just don't have the inspiration anymore. You
know, just a while ago, I was talking to somebody and she said,
I went through the season when I was filled with burnouts. I love
this job, but I just couldn't stand to even seeing my laptop when I
was going through the season of burnouts. You know, I can imagine how
many people today we are experiencing that burnout in their life because of this misconception
where people think that taking rest is only when you are done with all your
job and then rest. In today's world, it's like take rest after you
die. You know. It's in a little sense, it's like that.
It's like a constant thing. You keep working, keep working, keep working.
You know this this idea that if you rest when you still have something
to do, or when you rest when you're not actually tired, that means
you're just lazy. No, there's a principle. God did not take rest
because he was tired. There's a principle that God was showing us that,
you know, when you'd set aside a day to rest, when you're saying
God, you know what, yes, I have all these priorities. It
No, you're not be a particular day. Okay. That's where you try
to understand in today's context. In the New Testament, there's a principle maybe
in May or may not be a particular day, but at least take some
time out to rest, take some time out to you know. Of course
most of us go to church on Sundays. You know, if you don't,
I encourage you to do that. But take some time out, just
rest, take rest, just rest from your works. And I pray that
you know, when you make that your commitment, where you're not going to
be, you know, just on this constant mad race in life. But
rather take some you know, uh, you know, like a dedicated time
to rest, take care of your body, take care of your health.
You know, sometimes I notice in recent times, when I started taking care
off my you know, physical body, you know, my body starts functioning
better. And I'm telling you, guys, just so much we can learn
from these things. And I pray that you will come to that place,
but you will take that definite step to take some time to rest. Amen.
