0:59 in a pleasing life where with regard to something or the other, you're just

1:03 praying and waiting upon God to do certain things. And you're saying, John,

1:07 I've been praying so much. I've been working so hard, I've been

1:10 going the extra mile. I have the faith and I've been asking God to

1:14 do it. But I don't know why. No matter what I do,

1:19 it seems like my prayers are not getting answered. I want to just share

1:23 a scripture with you that you know, really popped up to me this morning

1:27 as I was reading, and I thought I would share it with you in

1:30 line with this, and it is found in Psalm one hundred and thirty five.

1:36 When you look at verse sixty, this is what it says. The

1:40 Lord does whatever pleases him. The Lord does whatever pleases him. This one

1:52 scripture that just popped up and I was thinking about this, that you can

1:57 pray, you can believe, Yes, God is not gonna put you down.

2:01 There is power in our prayer in the sense that when you involve God.

2:06 The Bible says a prayer of a righteous man availeth much that when the

2:08 church prayed earnestly in acts, well, they saw a result. There's so

2:14 many examples in the scripture. Elijah prayed and there was a rain that came.

2:23 There is an element of power attached to our prayer. But what I

2:27 want you to understand is that overriding that is the ultimate sovereign plan of God.

2:37 That's what I want you to understand. You can pray, you can

2:40 believe, you can say I trust in the Lord. You can say that

2:46 I know that God will not put to shame those who wait upon the Lord.

2:50 All that is there. I'm not denying that there's a place for all

2:53 of that, but there's one thing that overrides all of that, and that

2:58 is the fact that God is sovereignly in control. And this is a scripture

3:02 which I just wanted to share with you. There are so many other scriptures

3:06 which in the Bible which talk about how the God we serve is a sovereign

3:12 God, which means that he knows how to sovereignly reign over everything. You

3:20 can beat yourself, you can do all sorts of stuff. You can you

3:25 know, go crying and you know, put on sack lauds and whatever under

3:32 the sun that you want to do, you can do. But there are

3:36 certain things if the Lord decides to not do something. If the Lord decides

3:42 to do something, no one can stop it because he's a sovereign God.

3:49 No one can question him. Because he's a sovereign God. He is the

3:53 king of kings and a lot of laws. And that is the place we

3:59 go to, the total place of surrender and say, God, this is

4:02 what I want, this is what I've been praying about, this is what

4:05 I really wish would happen. By God, I realize that I can pray

4:11 so much, I can stand on the you know, in faith, and

4:15 I can just you know, stand on your word and everything under the sun

4:20 I can do. But it comes to a place where I give it over

4:27 because I can't hold on to this anymore, because God, let your sovereign

4:32 will be done. Because you see, when you go to that place,

4:39 it's scary. What if God does something I don't want? What if God

4:43 brings in something that I'm not passionate about. That's where you trust the goodness

4:47 of God. That's where you trust that the God we serve as a faithful

4:53 God. That's where you trust that the God serve knows that he has the

4:58 best plans for our life. Now, if you look at the same Psalm

5:02 some one hundred and thirty five, just three verses before verse six, when

5:09 you look at verse three, this world is says, praise the Lord,

5:12 for the Lord is good. See unless and until you established the fact that

5:16 the Lord is a good God. Understand, until you established the fact that

5:20 he is a faithful God upon whom we can bang the Understand. Until you

5:26 are rooted in the fact that you know what, you can completely bask in

5:31 his mercy, you can completely soak and get yourself carried away by His love.

5:42 That is the place you can be in a rest assured that you know

5:46 what things are not going my way. I'm not going to allow that to

5:51 work me up. I don't want to get worked up because of it.

5:58 I prayed, I did the best I can. But I trust a sovereign

6:01 plan of God, and I know that his plans are good, and I

6:08 know he knows what's best, and I know that through my life he will

6:14 accomplish his purpose. See that's where you become to understand that, you know,

6:19 praying and reading the Bible, or you know, our relationship with God,

6:24 it is not just about getting what we want. I want to tell

6:28 you guys that that's a wrong prosperity gospel where people think that it's all about

6:31 what we want. It's not about what we want. It's about being available

6:36 to be used for His purpose. It's about accomplishing his purpose, accomplishing his

6:44 assignments for us, his task for us, his will for us. And

6:49 in that process we will experience the kind of life that He has which will

6:56 definitely be fulfilling, reward and amazing. That's what I can see. Amen,

8:54 you today to make the simple step of faith and say, Jesus, I

8:58 thank you for what you did on the cross. Thank you for giving me

9:01 this gift of eternal life.
