Gifta International. Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta. Are you
a pleasing life where in regard to something or the other, you're just praying
and waiting upon God to do certain things. And you're saying, John,
I've been praying so much. I've been working so hard. I've been going
the extra mile. I have the faith and I've been asking God to do
it. But I don't know why. No matter what I do, it
seems like my prayers are not getting answered. I want to just share a
scripture with you that you know, really popped up to me this morning as
I was reading, and I thought I would share it with you in line
with this, and it is found in Psal one hundred and thirty five when
you look at verse six. So this is what it says. The Lord
does whatever pleases him. The Lord does whatever pleases him. This one scripture
that just popped up and I was thinking about this, that you can pray,
you can believe, yes, God is not going to put you down.
That there is power in a prayer in the sense that when you involve
God. The Bible says, a prayer of a righteous man availeth much that
when the church prayed earnestly in acts, well, they saw a result.
There's so many examples in the scripture. Elijah prayed and there was a reign
that came. There is an element of power attached to a prayer. But
what I want you to understand is that overriding that is the ultimate sovereign plan
of God. That's what I want you to understand. You can pray,
you can believe, you can say I trust in the Lord. You can
say that I know that God will not put to shame those who wait upon
the Lord. All that is there. I'm not denying that there's a place
for all of that. But There's one thing that overrides all of that,
and that is the fact that God is sovereignly in control. And this is
the scripture which I just wanted to share with you. There are so many
other scriptures in the Bible which talk about how the God we serve is a
sovereign God, which means that he knows how to sovereignly reign over everything.
You can beat yourself, you can do all sorts of stuff. You can
you know, go crying and you know, put on syclods and whatever under
the sun that you want to do, you can do. But there are
certain things if the Lord decides to not do something. If the Lord decides
to do something, no one can stop it because he's a sovereign God.
No one can question him. Because he's a sovereign God. He is the
King of kings and the lot of laws. And that is the place we
go to, in the total place of surrender and say, God, this
is what I want, this is what I've been praying about, this is
what I really wish would happen. By God, I realize that I can
pray so much, I can stand on the you know, in faith,
and I can just you know, stand on your word, and everything under
the sun I can do. But it comes to a place where I give
it over because I can't hold onto this anymore. Because God let your sovereign
will be done. Because you see, when you go to that place,
it's carry What if God does something I don't want? What if God brings
in something that I'm not passionate about. That's where you trust the goodness of
God. That's where you trust that the God we service a faithful God.
That's where you trust that the God knows that he has the best plans for
our life. Now, if you look at the same Psalm Psalm and thirty
five, just three verses before verse six, when you look at verse three,
this is word is says, praise the Lord, for the Lord is
good. See unlessen until you establish the fact that the Lord is a good
God. Understand, until you establish the fact that he is a faithful God
upon whom we can bang. Understand. Until you are rooted in the fact
that you know what, you can completely bask in his mercy, you can
completely soak and get yourself carried away by His love. That is the place
you can be, you know, rest assured that you know what things are
not going my way. I'm not going to allow that to work me up.
I don't want to get worked up because of it. I prayed,
I did the best I can. But I trust a sovereign plan of God,
and I know that his plans are good, and I know he knows
what's best, and I know that through my life he will accomplish his purpose.
See, that's where we come to understand that, you know, praying
and reading the Bible, or you know, our relationship with God is not
just about getting what we want. I want to tell you guys that that's
this wrong prosperity gospel where people think that it's all about what we want.
It's not about what we want. It's about being available to be used for
His purpose. It's about accomplishing his purpose, accomplishing his assignments for us,
his task for us, his will for us. And in that process we
will experience the kind of life that He has which will definitely be fulfilling,
reward and amazing. That's what I can see. Amen, God, bless
you you've been listening to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta. We hope
you were blessed and inspired to live the life that God has for you.

you're going? If you came face to face with death? Now do you
know where you're going? And this is not a message of condemnation. This
is a message of hope. There is a God who loves you so much
He sent his only son, Jesus Christ, to come down and pay a
heavy price by shedding every drop of his blood on the cross. Thank you
for dying for my sense. When you believe in him, you have free
gift of salvation for you that assures us that we will go to heaven when
we die instead of suffering in hell forever. I just encourage you today to
make the simple step of it and say, Jesus, I thank you for
what you did on the cross. Thank you for giving me this gift of
eternal life.
