0:58 Speaker 2: to talk about one more important thing that really caught

1:03 Speaker 2: know I'm reading from the NLT version. Okay, this is

1:06 Speaker 2: what happens. So there's a moment when David is trying

1:08 Speaker 2: to convince King Saul that he would go and defeat Golaiath.

1:13 Speaker 2: If you look at verse thirty eight, then Saul gave

1:15 Speaker 2: David his own armor, a bronze helmet and a coat

1:18 Speaker 2: of may, and David put them on, strapped the sword

1:22 Speaker 2: over it, and took a step or two to see

1:24 Speaker 2: what was it like. He had never worn such things before,

1:27 Speaker 2: and then he protested, saying, I can't go in these,

1:30 Speaker 2: I'm not used to them. So he took them off,

1:33 Speaker 2: and he picked up five smooth stores from a stream

1:36 Speaker 2: and put them in this shepherd's bag, and armed with

1:39 Speaker 2: only the shepherd staff and slaying, he started across the

1:43 Speaker 2: valley to fight the Philistine. I wanted to understand something here. Right.

1:48 Speaker 2: When you think about David, he is very crude in

1:52 Speaker 2: his approach, in the sense that he's more of somebody

1:55 Speaker 2: who has fought unofficially. He's not having any credit, he

2:00 Speaker 2: is not having any proof assats like. He can talk

2:04 Speaker 2: about his strategy. He can talk about what he has done,

2:07 Speaker 2: but it's something like, you know, like an amateur doing it.

2:10 Speaker 2: It's not something like written on stone. It's not something

2:13 Speaker 2: he can say, you know what, I have this professional training. Nothing.

2:16 Speaker 2: He's done this by himself. He has seen some output. Yes,

2:20 Speaker 2: he's tried to convince King Saul that I have seen

2:22 Speaker 2: all of this. But he's the thing. When King Salts

2:24 Speaker 2: tries to put in the David in the you know,

2:28 Speaker 2: there's the armor and all of that, David is not

2:31 Speaker 2: able to handle it. So David just puts them off

2:34 Speaker 2: and then he goes with what works for him, what

2:36 Speaker 2: he's comfortable. See, this is the thing I wanted to understand.

2:39 Speaker 2: Sometimes you have to go with what you are comfortable with.

2:43 Speaker 2: You have to go with the tools and the strategies

2:47 Speaker 2: that God has already thought you and he keipped you.

2:50 Speaker 2: Because see, maybe later on David could have learned how

2:53 Speaker 2: to use the armor, how to use the sword, and

2:57 Speaker 2: all of these things. But right now he just took

3:00 Speaker 2: up the opportunity based on what was available to him.

3:03 Speaker 2: Sometimes they talk about even musicians, right if even if

3:08 Speaker 2: you're going for a musical concert or if you're going

3:12 Speaker 2: for a competition, they say, always go with the instrument

3:16 Speaker 2: that you practiced with, Like even though it's the same

3:19 Speaker 2: instrument in the sense of it's the same keyboard, or

3:22 Speaker 2: it's a guitar or a violin, But they always say,

3:25 Speaker 2: you know, go with the one that you're comfortable because

3:28 Speaker 2: you're used to it. Like sometimes you you you worked

3:31 Speaker 2: with something and now the guitar is just seeming a

3:35 Speaker 2: little off, or you know, there's something is off like,

3:38 Speaker 2: so always is best to go with what you have

3:41 Speaker 2: practiced with, you know what I mean. It's it's it's

3:43 Speaker 2: even with getting a license, they generally say this. You know,

3:47 Speaker 2: if you have practiced using a certain vehicle, go with

3:50 Speaker 2: that for getting your license test as well. So on

3:53 Speaker 2: a similar note, I want to share that you know,

3:55 Speaker 2: sometimes when an opportunity like defeating a Colaith comes in

3:59 Speaker 2: your I want you to just you know, like make

4:02 Speaker 2: sure that you don't you know, at that moment is

4:05 Speaker 2: not a moment for you to test something new, you know. David,

4:08 Speaker 2: he could not say, okay, fine, let me test the sword,

4:10 Speaker 2: let me try how it feels in the armor. Like

4:13 Speaker 2: he gave it a shot and then he realized this

4:15 Speaker 2: is not for me.

4:16 Speaker 1: He knew it.

4:16 Speaker 2: He was confident in his own strategy. And even there

4:21 Speaker 2: it says that you know every detail is there for

4:25 Speaker 2: a reason, right. It says he picked up five smooth

4:27 Speaker 2: stones from a stream. Understand something here. He didn't just

4:30 Speaker 2: pick up random stones, right because you see, normal stones

4:35 Speaker 2: on the ground could just be you know, like rough,

4:39 Speaker 2: and they would not be as smooth and polished as

4:44 Speaker 2: a stone in a stream. Okay, So even in that,

4:48 Speaker 2: he was cock sure of what he was doing and

4:51 Speaker 2: he stuck to it. People are gonna laugh and walk.

4:53 Speaker 2: What is this guy doing. He's trying to defeat this

4:57 Speaker 2: giant who's having this big I mean, he's a giant

5:01 Speaker 2: in its in himself, and he has all this training,

5:04 Speaker 2: and he has all of this experience, he has all

5:06 Speaker 2: of these weapons, and this kid he is going with

5:10 Speaker 2: a sling shot and five stones, and he's also going

5:14 Speaker 2: to a stream to get the stones, because the stones

5:17 Speaker 2: in a stream are more polished, are more you know,

5:21 Speaker 2: like proper in shape, so they actually help hit the

5:26 Speaker 2: target better than a stone on the ground, you know

5:30 Speaker 2: what I mean. So David was cocksure on his strategy

5:34 Speaker 2: and he doubled down on that instead of trying out

5:37 Speaker 2: something new. So this is a message for some of

5:40 Speaker 2: you that, you know, if you are praying for a

5:42 Speaker 2: medical breakthrough or whatever, and when an opportunity like defeating

5:45 Speaker 2: a goliath comes, you need to be sure on doubling

5:49 Speaker 2: down on the strategy that you're comfortable with doubling down

5:52 Speaker 2: on what worked for you in the past, because that

5:54 Speaker 2: is not a moment for you to try something new

5:56 Speaker 2: or test something new, Because this is a moment for

5:58 Speaker 2: you to say, you know what I'm gone for with this,

6:00 Speaker 2: which for me, it may be crude, It may not

6:03 Speaker 2: be effective in the in the in the in the

6:06 Speaker 2: way it looks, it may not look professional enough. But

6:10 Speaker 2: this is what I am confident with the skill, the experience,

6:14 Speaker 2: and the and in the talent that God has given

6:17 Speaker 2: me in the past. You know what I mean. You

6:19 Speaker 2: know He has given me and so I'm going to

6:22 Speaker 2: use the experience of the past to use it for

6:25 Speaker 2: the advantage of this present opportunity. Are you getting what

6:29 Speaker 2: I'm saying? So this is the lesson I want you

6:30 Speaker 2: guys to take it forward, right like instead of you know,

6:34 Speaker 2: like I've come across people, they get a opportunity, they

6:38 Speaker 2: want to try something new. See, there's a place for trying,

6:41 Speaker 2: there's a place for all of that. But when the

6:44 Speaker 2: time comes when you can hit the opportunity like hitting

6:47 Speaker 2: a goliath moment, that is not the moment for you

6:50 Speaker 2: to try something new and fail. You know, there's a

6:53 Speaker 2: moment when you need to be more confident and double

6:57 Speaker 2: down on the strategy that God has helped you this

7:00 Speaker 2: accessful in the past, because that's the key for you.

7:03 Speaker 2: And even in that moment, he didn't just say, okay, fine,

7:06 Speaker 2: everybody's looking. I mean, let me just pick up a stone.

7:09 Speaker 2: He was clear that he was going to pick up

7:11 Speaker 2: a stone from a stream. He was clear on what

7:14 Speaker 2: he was going to take, and in that he was

7:17 Speaker 2: doubling down on his strategy and he was able to

7:20 Speaker 2: get the result that he was hoping for. So there's

7:23 Speaker 2: a place where ultimately the victory comes from the Lord.

7:26 Speaker 2: Where there's also an important thing to note that the

7:30 Speaker 2: victory comes when we partner with the Lord in doing

7:34 Speaker 2: what we are called to do in accordance to what

7:37 Speaker 2: God has already prepared us with. And that's how we'll

7:40 Speaker 2: be able to see the victory. All right, God bless
