Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta.
Speaker 2: Hello everyone, Welcome to this edition of the Fuel for
Speaker 2: the Soul with John Giftup Podcasts, where I'm going to
Speaker 2: talk to you today on an important aspect of abstaining
Speaker 2: from every form of evil. The scripture I want to
Speaker 2: talk to you today from is first found in first
Speaker 2: the Salonians five verse twenty two, which says, as I
Speaker 2: just read it, abstained from every form of evil. You see, guys,
Speaker 2: I know, we may say, John, you know what, Yes,
Speaker 2: I need to not have anything to do with sin.
Speaker 2: I should not entertain sin and all of these things
Speaker 2: I understand that. And you know, most of the time
Speaker 2: when we think about that, we just look at broad classifications.
Speaker 2: You know what, I'm not murdering someone. I'm not you know,
Speaker 2: getting into the place of committing adultery, or I'm not
Speaker 2: going and stealing or committing some big crime in the
Speaker 2: national scale or international scale. Yes, that's all there. But
Speaker 2: there's something I want you to understand that. You know,
Speaker 2: God's standard is not the way we look at things. Right,
Speaker 2: the Bible says abstained from every form of evil, which
Speaker 2: means that there is evil in this world without a doubt.
Speaker 2: Everywhere we turn around we see evil. It could be
Speaker 2: in the form of, you know, somebody just gossiping about
Speaker 2: somebody else. That's evil. Right. It can even be in
Speaker 2: the form of you know, or like you just crawl
Speaker 2: through your phone and you know, getting into unnecessary pictures
Speaker 2: or videos that can contaminate your mind. That's evil. You know,
Speaker 2: there's so much of manipulation happening. There's so much of
Speaker 2: you know, the way people's mind and their soul and
Speaker 2: their very being is corrupted. You know, if you if
Speaker 2: you're listening to certain kinds of songs all the time,
Speaker 2: what happens is without you realizing that that that is
Speaker 2: going to affect you, that evil in that is going
Speaker 2: to also affect you. Sometimes people think it's just a song. No,
Speaker 2: you don't realize it, like you know, sometimes you don't
Speaker 2: realize the part of the words of the songs. Right.
Speaker 2: The Bible says life and lia and the part of
Speaker 2: the tongue. And when you keep listening to such songs
Speaker 2: without you realizing, you're agreeing to those things. You know,
Speaker 2: the Bible says faith comes by the hearing of the
Speaker 2: word right. And so if you're listening to something bad
Speaker 2: without or you're listening or hearing something bad, what is
Speaker 2: happening is just tending to believe in those things, even
Speaker 2: if they're not in accordance to the world of God.
Speaker 2: You know, there are songs I've listened sometimes, very rarely,
Speaker 2: I've listened to secular songs. And there was the time,
Speaker 2: I think there was this famous song called love Me
Speaker 2: Like You Do, and there was this line which says,
Speaker 2: you know, I'm not thinking straight. You know, at some
Speaker 2: point I was so excited to listen and I was
Speaker 2: singing along and this line that came I'm not thinking straight.
Speaker 2: Just you know, the Holy spirit convicted me and said, wait,
Speaker 2: what did you just say? I'm not thinking straight? You know?
Speaker 2: And then I realized, like, if I keep confessing that,
Speaker 2: if I keep saying that with no amount of time,
Speaker 2: I may end up, you know, like literally my mind
Speaker 2: may not be straight. I will be corrupted. You know,
Speaker 2: because you're agreeing with that. You get what I'm saying.
Speaker 2: You know that That's the reason I always say. You know,
Speaker 2: I'm not saying don't listen to secular songs or you know,
Speaker 2: there's no such thing as you know, don't listen or
Speaker 2: watch any movies or something like. I'm not saying like that.
Speaker 2: I say, you know, always before you listen to something,
Speaker 2: check is that something that adds value? Is that something
Speaker 2: that is good? Is that something that has any evil
Speaker 2: attached to it? You know, I know that a lot
Speaker 2: of good, good secular songs, which maybe they can be inspirational,
Speaker 2: patriotic that maybe I love a lot of songs like that.
Speaker 2: That's totally fine as long as it does not, uh,
Speaker 2: you know, take the place of God. As long as
Speaker 2: it does not have anything that does not align with
Speaker 2: the will of God or the word of God, it's fine.
Speaker 2: But what I'm saying is you have to be very careful.
Speaker 2: There are people who you know, think, oh, for example Alvien, like, oh,
Speaker 2: you know, it is just fun. No, what is attached
Speaker 2: to it is evil. Or in India, a lot of
Speaker 2: people get into something called yoga. They say it's just
Speaker 2: exercise on the outside. It's exercise on the outside, but
Speaker 2: it's based out of Hindu religious pactresses and Hindu deities,
Speaker 2: and most of those supposes are in confirm uh, they
Speaker 2: actually confirmed to where is idols and eighties worshiped, which
Speaker 2: actually have those demons behind them. So you have to
Speaker 2: be careful. Like even certain festivals that people celebrate day,
Speaker 2: they seem like just cultural festivals or things that you
Speaker 2: see from the outside, but on the inside you have
Speaker 2: realized that they are rooted in evil. That's why the
Speaker 2: Bible says stay away from every form of evil. Check out.
Speaker 2: Don't just be naive. Oh it's just a fun thing. No,
Speaker 2: what is the root behind it? What is the you know, like,
Speaker 2: you don't want to invite the demons behind them without
Speaker 2: you realizing the demons behind them. You don't want that
Speaker 2: to happen in your life. Guys, and I challenge you today,
Speaker 2: I challenge you every form of evil, whether it can
Speaker 2: be something as small let look small like you know,
Speaker 2: even unforgiveness toward somebody, bitterness, a wrong attitude. All of
Speaker 2: that is evil, right, All of that is evil. And
Speaker 2: that's why if anything does that's not aligned with the
Speaker 2: standard of God, the will of God, the word of
Speaker 2: God is evil. Okay, it's it's not. It does not
Speaker 2: give you the permission to stay there. So my challenge is,
Speaker 2: if there is something in your mind that needs to change,
Speaker 2: let this be a sermon that reminds you to do that.
Speaker 2: If there's a change you need to do to your
Speaker 2: gadget so that you're not browsing into websites that you're
Speaker 2: not supposed to, let this be a wake of car.
Speaker 2: If you're somebody who needs to make a change, maybe
Speaker 2: you need to quit smoking, quit drinking, quit some bad habit,
Speaker 2: quit pornography, quit addictions that you need to. You may
Speaker 2: say I'm not able to do it with God's help.
Speaker 2: Let's see a difference. The first step is you making
Speaker 2: a resolve that with help, with the help of God,
Speaker 2: you will be able to do it. Because as long
Speaker 2: as you are comfortable in it, you will not be
Speaker 2: able to come out of it. You need to get
Speaker 2: to the place where you are angry and mad and say,
Speaker 2: you know what, I don't want this. I don't want
Speaker 2: this lifestyle. I don't want this addiction. I don't want
Speaker 2: to be comfortable in this. And when you get to
Speaker 2: that place and help take the help of the Holy
Speaker 2: Spirit in your life, that's how you will break out
Speaker 2: and see the victory in your life. Amen, God bless you.
