0:43 Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta. I'm going to talk to today about are you paying attention? A lot of things people say God would be to me. I wish I would hear his voice. I wish he would direct my steps, and so on and so forth. And they keep looking at scriptures which says that my sheep will hear my voice, and that a God is a God who speaks, He is a revealing God. And then they say, I don't know why God isn't speaking to me. I don't know why God isn't, you know, guiding me or directing my steps.

1:20 But I want to share as something very important with you guys. When you look at numbers twenty two, it's a very familiar passage where a donkey spoke, and you know, he was actually speaking to a prophet called balab Okay. Now it's an irony because Ballad is a prophet, which means he should be in a place where he could have a direct communication with God. He was actually having a communication with God. But here's the thing he had to he had he was in a place where he was fighting between what God wanted him to do and his own personal desire.

1:56 Like, you know, God didn't want him to go somewhere, but he was want Cindy bestering God, God, please, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go. Uh you know, in the sense you know sometimes you know when you see little children, they keep bestering their children. I'm sorry, they keep bestering their parents. You know, I want to go to this, I want to get this, I want to get this. And sometimes even though the parents don't want to get something, they just end up getting because they're so annoyed.

2:17 You get what I'm saying. That's an exact moment that happens here where God clearly told Ballam, don't go. But he was bestering God over and over again because he was enticed by the you know, you know, the riches or you know, the rewards that he would get if he went. And he God is like, okay, fine, go, right, But God was not happy about sending him. But he just went. But even as he was going, there's a moment where the donkey that he was riding on started speaking because an angel was trying to you know, stop him.

2:51 And there were so many obstacles along the way. See, when God doesn't want you to do something, he keeps stopping you. He keeps directing your steps, he keeps guiding you. But sometimes, you know, you can be so engrossed in what you want, you can be so filled with what you want or what you know God wants for you, you can be blinded. You know what they say about especially in the day of relationships, right, they say, you know, people ignore red flags in relationship because you know they're so blinded it so so filled with that you know, those emotions and those uh you know, all those feelings and all of those things that come for the moment.

3:26 And this is exactly what you see with ball him when he's so filled with the rewards that he's going to get the richest out of all the different things that he's going to be getting, that he's ignoring the red flags. God is constantly saying. First of all, God kept saying, don't go, don't go, don't go. Then also there's a moment when you is traveling and there is a moment where the angel is trying to stop, and so the donkeys going here and they hither Tida, and he's getting mad at the donkey and not think about this, he's like getting mad at the donkey and beating and at done more when donkeys speaks and and and it's amazing to notice something very very uh, how do I say this?

4:07 You know, it's kind of weird or it's something that you don't think, you don't fathom, But here's the thing verse twenty eight of numbers twenty two. Right then the Lord opened the donkey's mouth, and it said to Balam, what have I done for you to beat me these three times? And verse twenty nine, Balam answered the donkey, you made me, made a fool of me. Folony I had a sword in my hand, I would kill you, and the donkeys said to Balam, I mind not your own donkey, which you have always written through this day.

4:40 Have I been in the habit of doing this too? And he said, no, it's annoying, or is it? It's it's kind of like how I say this. It's weird that he is so engrossed in, you know, getting his way, that he didn't even realize that he was talking to a donkey. Can you just imagine that for a moment, the donkey was speaking and he was not taken aback to wait, wait a minute, what donkey are you speaking to me? You know, he's just having a conversation with the donkey. Can you imagine that? Can you even believe that?

5:10 Guys? You see sometimes this is what happens. You know, you're so engulfed in what you want, You're so filled with what you want, You're so filled with your expectations. You're you're like, you know what, even though you say you know I want God's will and all of those things, that you're so much in a place where you're in gross or saturated with what you want for yourself that even though God is constantly signaling to you, he's speaking to you you're not paying attention. He's speaking in unusual ways, but you're not paying attention.

5:41 You know, yesterday there was a moment when I was thinking about something. I was just spraying and walking. You know, every time in a walk or when I drive or right, I'm always speaking tongues. I just keep praying that. That's my thing. I just love to be alone in the presence of God. And I was just walking in a spring about something. And you won't believe this, Like, I just a particular word that I was specifically praying, and I just look up and a guy is wearing the same word on a T shirt and walking past me.

6:11 And I was like, this is not an accident, this is not a coincidence. This is the Lord, Who's Who's Who's confirming that word. You know. You know, God can speak through unusual things. I've shared this so many times. If God can speak through a donkey, he can speak to you through anything. God has spoken to me through my favorite TV shows. God has spoken through me to move through movies or you know anything. God can speak to you through anything. If you're just listening, God wants to speak to you.

6:41 You know, even in the Book of Job you know, God actually spoke to job through the world. When the Bible says through the world wind you see, guys take the limits of God wants to speak. But sometimes you can be so caught up with your own thing that you're not listening. Today prayed the name of Jesus Christ, that we will get to a place of God, that we will pay attention to what you're saying, that we would listen to your voice and follow your leading. In the name of Jesus, we pray, Amen, God bless you.
