record holder, aerospace engineer, life coach, evangelist and founder of John Gifta
International. Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta. I'm going to
talk to Tod about Consistency is not the only key, won't you guys to
understand if you've been listening to my messages for a long period of time.
One of the things I keep encouraging people is to be consistent, to be
committed to what God has called you to do. Go the extra mile and
keep working on it. Make it a habit to work towards your God given
calling, and eventually God will make sure that you step into the fullness of
your destiny. You will be taken from one degree of glory to another degree
of glory. All of those things are so true, and I really want
to encourage you guys. If you're being complacent and lazy, you will not
be able to step into the fullness of your God given destiny that He has
for you. But at the same time, I want you to also note
one important thing because when you look at the motivational world, when you look
at you know, the worldly perspective, there's there's a thin line here right
where people say, you know, keep working on it, keep working on
it. Being consistent is the only key. Be consistent on what God has
called you to do. Be consistent on working on your gifts and talents.
Be consistent in your business, your career, your YouTube channel or podcast or
whatever. You be consistent and you will eventually see the success. That's what
is being portrayed or for the most part, And in the motivational world,
what I've seen is they often say consistency is the omni key. You keep
doing it, you keep doing it, you keep doing it, and you're
going to hit the jack pot. And a lot of people today are so
disappointed with themselves, disappointed with life, disappointed with the you know, God,
disappointed with the system, why because they've been working on something for a
long period of time and not seeing the result, and they're like, oh,
my goodness, I've been doing this for so many days, so many
weeks, so many months, so many years, so many decades, and
I'm not seeing any result in my life. Yes, I want to re
enterate and remind you, guys. Yes, I do believe in the place
that there is a place for consistency. But there's also an important thing to
know. Consistency is not the omni key, and I want to talk to
you about that. You know, I want to talk to you from Luke
chapter five, very familiar passage that you, guys know, where Jesus is
encountering Peter. And Peter had fished all night, caught nothing, and they
were in a very disappointed state. Peter and his men and the gang and
his partners, they were all in a very disappointed state. And Jesus comes
to him after finishing, put out into the deeper part and let down your
nets for a catch, and Jesus and Peter tells Jesus, we worked all
night and caught nothing, But if you say so, I let down the
nets. And when they did so, they caught such a huge number of
fish that their nets began to break that they had to signal to other partners
in the other boats to come and help them, and when they did,
they were all filled with so much of fish that they were about to think.
What I want you to understand from here is an important principle to note
that a lot of people just see see they kept working hard, They kept
working hard, and eventually they found success. Yes, there is an element
of truth to work hard, to be consistent, and all of those things
don't give up. But there's also an important note that you need to keep
in mind that it's not just because he kept fishing all night and caught nothing.
Eventually, at some point he caught something. It was because he had
a supernatural encounter where he listened to the voice of Jesus and he obeyed the
instruction from God and at the appointed time ordained by God when he put down
their nets into the deeper part. When he did as for God's instruction,
when he did as for the strategy given by Jesus, things worked out.
What I want you to understand is certain things are not just going to work
out because you've been doing it for a long period of time. It's certain
things will work out only when you pass doing what you're doing, when you
feel like, oh my goodness, nothing is working out, and listen to
what God is saying, listen to the divine instruction from God, and obey
his leading, and then things are going to work out. I hope I'm
preaching to somebody here. If you feel like you've been working hard and nothing
is working, nothing is clicking, things are not falling in place. I
want you to pass doing what you're doing and get to a place where you
ask God to speak to you, give you divine instruction, wait for him
to give you the green signal to move in a certain direction, to go
towards an open door, and go in accordance to His leading, his guidance,
his protection is world, and then things will work out. Things are
not going to work out just because you've been working out for a long period
of time. Things will work out only when you work in accordance to God's
plan and God's will and God's direct in God's leading and God's timing over your
life. That's a very important thing to note, right because if you think
if it was only consistency, then Jesus need not have to encounter Peter at
all. In this case, it would have just been that Peter didn't fish
all night and finally, after working so hard, finally caught some fish.
That would have been the message, that would have been the motivation part of
it. But here, you see, he caught nothing the old night.
He didn't keep trying, keep trying. He went back to the shore,
started washing his nets. He took a break from doing what he was doing
because it didn't work out. And that was what gave the platform for Jesus
to step into his board and for Jesus to preach and eventually speak to Peter
and say, come on, let's go fishing. Just think about it.
You know, if Peter was still in the water trying to fish, he
wouldn't have got the opportunity to you know, like come to the show where
Jesus steps into his boat, right. That's because Peter had stopped and passed
and gave up and came to this place where he was like, you know
what, he didn't work out, and he was washing his nets. That
is what gave the opportunity for Jesus to step into the boat. If he
was still in the water, that wouldn't have been possible. Jesus wouldn't have
come right so, because at one point he realized it was not working out,
he came back to the shore and he was washing his nets. That
is when the Bible is very clear that Jesus came and he asked if you
look at was to Jesus saw the two boats moved by the land, and
as they were washing the nets, he got into one of them, and
that was Simon Peters and he started preaching and that's when he had an encounter
with Simon Peter. That's what I want you guys to get to. That
consistencies the only key. But consistency is the key. It is important be
consistent, okay, but it's not the only key. If you've been doing
something for a long time and it's not working out, it's time for you
to get to the place where you say, you know what, let me
pass, let me listen to what God wants me to do, and let
me do hasper his leading, has for his direction in the strategy that he
gives me, and to do it at his time, and it's all going
to work out in Jesus Mighty name, and pray Amen God bless you.
