0:43 Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta. Most of you may know the first part of this was very Much, which says oldistency that the Lord is. But I want to talk about the second part of this verse. I want to start off by reading from the Good News translation. It says, happy are those who find safety with him? Happy are those who find safety with him. When you look at the Message version, it says, blessed are those who run to him? Right, blessed are you who run to him. When you look at other translations like the NIV, for example, it uses the word refuge, it says blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.

1:35 Now I want to also get to the meaning of the word refuge. It says the state of being safe or sheltered from pursued danger or difficulty right where you're in a place or situation where you find that shelter or safety right. And the minute I saw this part of scripture, it just reminded me of this scene in this popular movie called Baby's Day Out. I don't know how many of you know this pretty old movie. It's a comedy movie. It's a it's a kid's family entertaining movie. If you do not know about it, it this this movie is um uh it's talk about talking about a little baby that's going around.

2:21 Um. You know, it gets kidnapped and then it goes to different places. Uh. And and there's this scene where the kidnappers are after this baby, but this baby finds shelter or safety under a gorilla or a chimpanzee, right, I think it's one of these. Uh it's a huge chimpanzee or gorilla, one of these. And what I want you guys to understand is that as long as these guys are trying to attack this baby, the baby keeps just hiding under the wings of the gorilla kind of like you know, just being resting the gorilla's arms and finds that safety, finds that refuge where it just knows the No matter what they try, they cannot take hold of the baby.

3:14 Even when they do try, the gorilla fights for the baby and puts these guys in trouble. You know, it hits them or kicks them or whatever the different things it does in the In the movie, of course it's it's it's a comedy movie. But but but the idea of here, I want you guys to get grasps. Yes, the enemy is constantly trying to attack you, affect you, and you may be attacked on every direction, and you're you're you're running hida chidda. You're you're trying to find shelter. But I want to encourage you and ask you are you getting to that place where you are running for refuge?

3:50 You're taking refuge in God? Because the Bible says, Blessed are those who take refuge in God. Blessed are those who run to God. Happy are you when you are running to safety in guard?

4:06 Where are you finding your protection? Where are you going or where are you saying, you know, this is my place of refuge, This is my place of safety. No matter what it is you see in the movie, that's what happens. Um You know, even when they try, the baby just cries out, and the and the chimpanzee immediately jumps up and rescues the baby does everything under its power. You know, it's it's a little example of how the baby finds refuge under the wings or on the arms of this chimpanzee. Then how much more you and I can take the refuge from the almighty guard who's almighty and all powerful, and and he's saying anyone, nothing can snatch you from me, nothing can snatch you from my lab, nothing can snatch you from my cover.

5:05 I've protected you, I have you covered, and you will be safe and secured in the palm of my hands today. I want you guys to understand, even if it's not a little physical protection you're looking for, maybe you're praying for a protection in your works situation where you're saying, I want a secured job. I don't want to lose my job. I want protection in that regard, or maybe a protection that your relationship works out, that it's not going to fall to the ground, or protection in your calling, your ministry, that your businesses can be secured, maybe protection from you know, maybe your finances, protection from getting sick, protection from anything, it could be, even depression of fear.

5:57 Good today, I pray that you know you'll find that protection as you run to God. If this is a message that many of you may say, yes, John, I know this. I've heard this so many times. I know these kind of messages. But I'm telling you sometimes we need that reminder or sometimes you know, when you're actually in that moment, when I hit the heat of the moment is when these messages need to be reminded of. And that reminder will come only when you feed on these kind of messages and receive it by faith and say, God, at my time of need, I will be able to take this word into my spirit and find refuge in you.
