Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta. Now, when you look at the wood prosperity or the blessings from the Lord or favor, there are two extremes of people that I've come across. One extreme is totally against anything to do with prosperity or favor or riches from the Lord or wealth. And they're like, you know what, that's all wrong. It's a sin to have money, and you know, so on and so forth. I still remember one lady. She always us on your messages are a blessing to me, and so on and so forth, till one day she saw me post a Bible words which had the word prosper in it, and she got so mad.
She said, you know what, VS. Christian should never use the word prosper or prosperity, and because you use that, you're a false prophet, you're a prosperity preacher. And she's stopped to fall away. I'm like, oh, my goodness, that that kind of an extreme group, because I've been in two sides of the coinment. I mean, I've seen people from the traditional perspective, part of the traditional church. At the same time, in terms of the charismatic side, I've seen the other extreme where people are all the time focusing on themselves.
You know, Oh, I need money, I need my promotion, I need to get this in my life. I need to achieve my dreams, I need to see success and you know, build my empire. And you know it's all about themselves. So there are two extremes. One extreme is like I shred or I detest anything to do with money, and the other extreme it's all about I want money for myself. But I want you to understand, when you look at the biblical perspective of this topic, you have to understand the most important thing to understand is that there is a thin line between going against it at the same time not going so much into it.
What do I mean by that? Kingdom driven gospel is not shunning down on having money, because when you actually do the work, you realize how much of money is required to be honest, in doing this podcast, there's so much involved, high quality microphone and we still need to build, you know, audio system in a deeper way. That's that's something I've been praying and waiting on God for. And also, you know, the platforms in which I host these podcasts and so many different things. Everything involves money.
You know. The recordings for my YouTube videos are with the studio. They need money. We're going on TV on New Year's Day. I need money. I mean, so everything involves money. You can't say I don't need money. You need money, okay, But at the same time you have to understand that you don't need to run after money just for yourself. The reason you need it is so that God blesses you, so that you can be a blessing. Now, when we look at them incident recorded in the Bible about Jesus feeding the five thousand in John chapter you had to remember that the little boy had filos of bread into fish.
What I want you to know is that he brought the filos of bread and the two fish for himself. If he had consumed it, he would have been nourished, and that's it. He would have been fine because he had what he needed for himself. See, a lot of people are living this kind of a life where they think I have what I need for myself and that's enough. But that's a selfish way of living. If he had done what he had done, we wouldn't be talking about that little boy today. But because what he had was given into the hands of Jesus, Jesus was able to feed the five thousand men, and probably people say they were our fifteen thousand men, women children together, fifteen thousand or twenty thousand, whatever be the numbers.
Thousands were fed when what this little boy had was given it in hands of Jesus. What I wanted to understand is what he had was only for himself. But when you give it to God, he's able to multiply and use it for the extension of His kingdom. What you have maybe only for yourself, But why didn't you pray that God will bless what you have to an extent that you can be a blessing to other people. This boy brought food only for himself. He didn't bring food for his neighbor, bring food for other people.
He brought food for only himself. But what God did was God blessed him enough so that it was not just that this boy had more food, it was that everybody else had food. That's what God can do with your life. Guys, if you would just take the limits off and say, God, this is what I have, and I don't want to restrict what you want to do through my life. What I may have may be small, insignificant, but I'm going to be believing in you for big things. If that boy said, you know, why should I give it to Jesus?
I mean, I just have enough for myself. I just have it for myself, we wouldn't have seen the miracle right the same way with regard to your money, with regard to your resources, your talents, your gifts, everything. Don't you say it's enough if I have for myself, No, pray, ask God to bless you more so that you can be a greater blessing to other people. Not only was this boy fed, but other people were fed with what he had. What you have today may be insignificant, but I want you to understand that God wants to use it to bless other people.
Stop living for your self, guys, Stop just living a selfish life. It's all about me. It's all about me. No. If you can pay bills, pray that God will bless you enough to pray other people's bills. If you have a roof over your head, pray that God will bless you enough so that you can provide roof over the heads of people who are having no home. Ask God for big things. That's what differentiates a person who's just like living a selfish life, like I don't need anything just for me, but they think that they're being humble.
No, you're living a selfish life, and a person who's like, oh I need money for my I need money for me. No, or even your promotion so that when you are promoted it's not just about you. You may get some hykeen your salary, you may get more influenced. You can use that promotion to maybe, you know, give opportunity for somebody else, mentor somebody else. You know, through all of those ways, you can indirectly or sometimes directly, shout about Jesus. Why do you restrict yourself today? My challenge is have this right perspective that record to the blessings of the Lord.
Don't just live for yourself. Get to a place where you say, what I have maybe just for me, but I give it to God so that He will use it to bless other people through me. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen, God bless you. You've been listening to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta, we hope you were blessed and inspired to live the life that God has for you. And this is not a message of condemnation. This is a message of hope. That is, a God who loves you so much sent his only son, Jesus Christ to come down and pay a heavy price by shedding every drop of his blood on the cross. Thank you for dying for my sins. When you believe in Him, you have free gift or salvation for you that it shows us that we will go to heaven when we die instead of suffering in hell forever. I'll just encourage you today to make the simple step of fate and say, Jesus, I thank you for what you did on the cross.
Thank you for giving me this gift of eternal life.
