Don’t Miss Your Peter Moment | Stop Living in Regret | John Giftah | Christian Sermon
Tonight's Episode
Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Giftah. In this insightful episode from the ongoing Acts 12 sermon series, we explore the vital spiritual lesson of not remaining stuck mourning missed opportunities while ignoring GOD’s present calling.Drawing from the contrasting responses in Acts 12, where James was arrested and killed but the church gathered fervently in prayer for Peter’s release, John Giftah unpacks why dwelling on past regrets or “James moments” can blind us to the “Peter opportunities” before us. Instead of remaining trapped by guilt, “what ifs,” or delayed decisions, listeners are encouraged to cultivate spiritual alertness, faith, and discernment to recognize and act on GOD’s current invitations.
This message offers practical encouragement for overcoming emotional traps like regret and self-condemnation and highlights the importance of being present, moving forward, and embracing redemption after missed chances. Perfect for anyone feeling stuck in the past, confused about what to do next, or seeking renewal in their faith journey amid difficult seasons.
Tune in to be uplifted, encouraged, and empowered to seize the opportunities GOD has placed right in front of you today.

Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta Leak one.
Speaker 2: Welcome to this edition of the Fuel for the Soul
Speaker 2: with John Gifta podcast. If you've been checking out our
Speaker 2: episodes for this week, we've been doing various things that
Speaker 2: we can learn from the incident recording and then acts
Speaker 2: chapter twelve versus one to five. Here's the thing I
Speaker 2: want you to understand right. One of the things you
Speaker 2: need to know is that King Agrippa just killed the
Speaker 2: Apostle James, and now he's about to kill the Apostle Peter.
Speaker 2: He's put him in prison and he's expecting that the
Speaker 2: passover will be done, and he will be able to publicly,
Speaker 2: you know, get heir Peter, you know, killed, and you
Speaker 2: know he's going to get all these awesome responses from
Speaker 2: the people that will were pleased with him for killing
Speaker 2: the apostle James. But yes, the thing about it understanding
Speaker 2: verse five, it says that the church prayed earnestly for
Speaker 2: the apostle Peter. Now I wanted to understand. The Bible
Speaker 2: never says that the church prayed for the apostle James. Okay.
Speaker 2: We do not know why they didn't pray. Maybe this
Speaker 2: was brand new for them. They do not know what
Speaker 2: is happening, where to go, what to do. We're probably scared,
Speaker 2: or maybe they didn't know the power of prayer. Maybe
Speaker 2: they were not aware. See, we do not know why
Speaker 2: they did not pray for the apostle James. Okay, and
Speaker 2: James was killed. And now when Peter is in a
Speaker 2: similar board, the Bible says that now they somehow came
Speaker 2: to know, let's pray this time. Let's take a step
Speaker 2: and pray. Okay. Now that's the thing I wanted to understand.
Speaker 2: The Church did not sit in self pity or sit
Speaker 2: and debate or oh my gosh, maybe we should have
Speaker 2: thought about this idea before. We should have prayed for
Speaker 2: James when he was in the similar board. We should
Speaker 2: have done something about James. Now, oh my goodness. They
Speaker 2: did not sit in self pity of the opportunity they
Speaker 2: missed in the past. They did not sit in the
Speaker 2: place where they were like, you know what, they were
Speaker 2: not aware that they should have prayed or whatever happened.
Speaker 2: Maybe they were aware and they didn't do it, or
Speaker 2: maybe they were not aware and so they missed it.
Speaker 2: But the point here is that they did not sit
Speaker 2: in defeat. They did not sit in worry. They did
Speaker 2: not sit in debate. They did not sit and analyze
Speaker 2: the fact or why they forgot to pray for James.
Speaker 2: But what happened is right now they know that James
Speaker 2: is a closed door. I wanted to go and check
Speaker 2: the previous episode to understand how James was a closed door.
Speaker 2: Now they know that Peter is a contented door that
Speaker 2: they need to pray and you know, seek the Lord
Speaker 2: to do a supernatural miracle. Yes, the thing they did
Speaker 2: not dwell in the past. They did not dwell in
Speaker 2: what they missed. They did not dwell in what didn't
Speaker 2: work out. They do not dwell in what happened in
Speaker 2: the past, but right now they're like, you know what,
Speaker 2: this is what is in front of us, Peter, is
Speaker 2: the example in front of us. And let us start now.
Speaker 2: Let us pray earnestly. Now this is a word for
Speaker 2: some of you. Stop dwelling on what didn't work out.
Speaker 2: Stop dwelling on what you did not do because you
Speaker 2: were not aware that you were supposed to do maybe
Speaker 2: five years ago. Stop dwelling on maybe, oh shoot, I
Speaker 2: should have done this. I should have taken this step.
Speaker 2: I should have done this course, I should have checked
Speaker 2: this person out, I should have started out that business venture.
Speaker 2: I should have done this. Maybe you're feeling like, oh man,
Speaker 2: I wish I had done this. Maybe maybe the Lord
Speaker 2: told you and you didn't do it, or maybe you
Speaker 2: were not aware or equipped, or the opportunity was not
Speaker 2: just right for you to do it back then. So
Speaker 2: stop living in guilt of what you missed, and say, God,
Speaker 2: you know what, this is the place you have placed me.
Speaker 2: This is the opportunity in front of me. I missed,
Speaker 2: But let me not miss Peter, this is my moment
Speaker 2: to take this step of faith and believe God that
Speaker 2: you will interview. Can you come to that place where
Speaker 2: you stop dwelling on the missed opportunity of the past,
Speaker 2: stop dwelling on why some things did not work out,
Speaker 2: or stop dwelling on the thing that you thought you
Speaker 2: should have taken a step but you did not take
Speaker 2: a step, and say, God, this is the place you
Speaker 2: have placed me, This is the moment that you have
Speaker 2: for me, and help me to make the most of
Speaker 2: this opportunity. Help me to make the maximum out of
Speaker 2: this particular door that is coming for me, maybe the
Speaker 2: right person or maybe the right opportunity the venture. Can
Speaker 2: you come to that place where you say, Lord, help
Speaker 2: me now, I allow one of the scriptures, if it's
Speaker 2: mentioned in the Book of Isaiah, stop going over old history.
Speaker 2: In other words, you know you need to stop looking
Speaker 2: at like, oh I should have done this, I should
Speaker 2: have done that, Like stop going over that and get
Speaker 2: to that place where it also goes on to say
Speaker 2: be alert and be present, for God is doing something new.
Speaker 2: Be alert and be present. Sometimes we end up missing
Speaker 2: out the Peter opportunities in front of us because we
Speaker 2: are dwelling on the James opportunity that left us. Today,
Speaker 2: I pray that God will help you to be alert
Speaker 2: and be present, to look at the opportunities in front
Speaker 2: of you and take the step what God wants you
Speaker 2: to do. Maybe now is a moment to ask God
Speaker 2: for clarity. Now is your moment to ask God for
Speaker 2: enabling you to have spiritual discernment, to grow in wisdom,
Speaker 2: to help you hear His word his voice more clearly
Speaker 2: so that you can make the right choice that needs
Speaker 2: to be made. And then I really challenge you to
Speaker 2: share this with someone whom you know will be blessed
Speaker 2: by this and leave a comment. If you're checking this
Speaker 2: out on YouTube, catch up with Sure.
