What Looked Random… Was GOD | John Giftah | Encouraging Christian Sermon
Tonight's Episode
Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Giftah. In this powerful conclusion to our Acts 12 sermon series, we dive into a fascinating detail: Peter’s arrest happened during Passover, causing Herod to delay his execution until after the festival. This seemingly small timing detail became the key reason Peter survived long enough for the church’s prayers to be answered miraculously. This episode explores how GOD works through “random” events, delays, and interruptions—elements of life that often feel confusing or frustrating. Drawing from Acts 12:1-5, John Giftah encourages listeners wrestling with unanswered prayers, delays, or unexpected detours to trust GOD’s sovereign control over every detail and timing.
If you’re feeling anxious or uncertain about the timing of your breakthrough, this message will empower you to embrace faith, discern GOD’s providential work in your life, and recognize that what may appear random could be GOD’s perfect protection and plan unfolding.

Speaker 1: Do you ever look around and think, Wow, the world
Speaker 1: is a crazy place and it just seems to get
Speaker 1: crazier and crazier. Ease your mind and take a break.
Speaker 1: This is Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta. We're
Speaker 1: a hub for inspirational Christian sermons, practical keys for Christian living,
Speaker 1: and Christian discussions and interviews. You'll be inspired to live
Speaker 1: the life that you were created for. Your host is
Speaker 1: a top ranking podcaster, best selling author, world record holder,
Speaker 1: aerospace engineer, life coach, evangelist and founder of John Gifta International.
Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John.
Speaker 2: Gifta, helloud one, Welcome to this edition of the Fuel
Speaker 2: for the Soul with John Gifta podcast. Is such a
Speaker 2: joy for me to join you guys today. As through
Speaker 2: this week, we've been looking at various lessons that you
Speaker 2: can take away from the incident recorded in Acts Chapter
Speaker 2: twelve versus one to five. Okay, today, one of the
Speaker 2: things I want to really help you understand or look
Speaker 2: at is the fact that King Herod just killed the
Speaker 2: Apostle James. And now what happened is that he saw
Speaker 2: that this was pleasing to the Jewish people, so he
Speaker 2: also arrested Peter. If you look at verse three, it
Speaker 2: says this took place during the passover celebration, So during
Speaker 2: that time he did not want to do this and
Speaker 2: create more ruckus. So what did he do. He imprisoned Peter,
Speaker 2: placing him under the guard of sixteen soldiers and listened
Speaker 2: to the scaffoley. Herod intended to bring Peter out for
Speaker 2: public trial after the passover, and while Peter was in prison,
Speaker 2: the church prayed for him earnestly. Now I want you
Speaker 2: to understand something here. Right, James was killed and now
Speaker 2: Peter is on a similar boat. But yes, the thing,
Speaker 2: it so happened that when Peter was arrested by King Herod,
Speaker 2: it was during the passover time, and because of that,
Speaker 2: it helped him buy some time during which the church
Speaker 2: prayed for Peter, and the output was different for Peter
Speaker 2: when he was supernaturally released. So I wanted to think
Speaker 2: about this. What looked like a random incident or it's
Speaker 2: just a random thing. Oh, after Apostle James, he arrested
Speaker 2: Apostle Peter. It looked like a random incident. But even
Speaker 2: in that random incident, it looked like, oh you know what,
Speaker 2: So happened that Peter was arrested during passover time. So
Speaker 2: Peter had to buy some time. I mean, he had
Speaker 2: to get some time in the prison by the time
Speaker 2: he will be killed. But here's the thing. Even a
Speaker 2: random incident was divinely orchestrated or divinely timed. Can you
Speaker 2: think about that part. Because it happened during the passover time,
Speaker 2: Peter was able to get some time during which the
Speaker 2: church prayed for him earnestly and the output changed for Peter.
Speaker 2: If this was also before the passover, if it was
Speaker 2: not during the past over time, then Peter also could
Speaker 2: have been immediately been killed like the apostle James. Think
Speaker 2: about it. So even a random thing was actually divinely orchestrated.
Speaker 2: What I want you to understand is when you least expected,
Speaker 2: God knows how to randomly orchestrate things in your life.
Speaker 2: You may think it's just by chance, it's just by coincidence,
Speaker 2: it just randomly happened. No, nothing happens randomly. God is
Speaker 2: divinely orchestrating things. See, there was a time when I
Speaker 2: was actually praying that I wanted to migrate these podcasts
Speaker 2: from the daily podcast being only audio to become video okay.
Speaker 2: So I randomly checked out different options that were available,
Speaker 2: different things. Nothing was working out, and I was like,
Speaker 2: oh my gosh, this doesn't make sense. And randomly I
Speaker 2: happened to meet someone in a conference a couple of
Speaker 2: months ago, and we never exchanged any conversation after that,
Speaker 2: to be honest, and it so happened just about two
Speaker 2: or three weeks ago. She connected me with me saying,
Speaker 2: a John, I really like a content that you post.
Speaker 2: Can you help me connect me with the studio? And
Speaker 2: I looked at different options that were available, which was
Speaker 2: not exactly working out for me. I said, why don't
Speaker 2: you try this or try that? And in that process
Speaker 2: she happened to stumble upon a studio from where I'm
Speaker 2: recording right now, okay, And we got connected and here
Speaker 2: I am able to record this. See it looks like
Speaker 2: a random event, like randomly meeting someone, random conversation with
Speaker 2: someone asking me about his studio, and here I am.
Speaker 2: And the podcast has now been on video format along
Speaker 2: with audio format since this week, and it's going to
Speaker 2: continue for the next I mean, as long as the
Speaker 2: lot allows right to think about this. What looked random
Speaker 2: was actually part of divine timing. It didn't happen before,
Speaker 2: it didn't happen later, It happened when God ordained. See
Speaker 2: same thing with Peter. How did God ordain for Peter
Speaker 2: to be arrested exactly during passover so that he can
Speaker 2: sometime when the supernatural miracle can happen? See think about this.
Speaker 2: Even a simple thing like that is part of God's design,
Speaker 2: God's plan. You may think, why isn't this working out?
Speaker 2: Why isn't that happening. Maybe God is orchestrating something behind
Speaker 2: the scenes. Why isn't this working out the way I
Speaker 2: thought it would. Maybe God is allowing you to go
Speaker 2: through this situation so that you can be coming out
Speaker 2: with a better testimony for His glory. Maybe you're looking
Speaker 2: at your situation and thinking this.
Speaker 1: This is random.
Speaker 2: No, what if that random conversation with that person is
Speaker 2: going to change the trajectory of your life. What if
Speaker 2: that random encounter is going to make a turnaround in
Speaker 2: your life. So today I want to challenge you guys,
Speaker 2: even as we are coming to the end of this week,
Speaker 2: just think about this. Areas in your life where you're
Speaker 2: feeling like John. There's so much to take away, There's
Speaker 2: so much of things happening. Why didn't you just say, God, Lord,
Speaker 2: I trust you. I believe that you have good plans
Speaker 2: for me, even when I don't understand it. I believe
Speaker 2: that You're in control. See in the negative thing like
Speaker 2: the apostle Peter being in prisoned, there was the sign
Speaker 2: where God was in control by arresting him during the
Speaker 2: past over. So even in random things, God is in control.
Speaker 2: Even in the random things of your life, God will
Speaker 2: be in control. And God is in control. And when
Speaker 2: you trust that, you will be in a place of peace, trust, rest,
Speaker 2: and you can relax and say you know what, God,
Speaker 2: You're in control, and I can choose to trust you
Speaker 2: with all my heart. I really challenge you to share
Speaker 2: this with someone to encourage them. Neighbor comment if you're
Speaker 2: checking this on.
