Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta. See many times when you go to life, are looking at our life and you're maybe that our visions God has shown you, or dreams God placed in your desires, God has deposited in your spirit, or there is some promise from the Lord that you know that this is from God, but it seems too far out, and you know, in natural circumstances, when you look at it, it seems like this has never happened before, you know, to anybody I know, or anybody in my circle, in my community, in my vicinity, nobody in my family line.
I don't have what it takes. And you may have been a place where you say it has never happened around so I'm not sure if it's possible for it to happen for me. You know, maybe it's just me, Maybe I'm dreaming too big, Maybe it's me having a wrong mindset or approach to it's this. Maybe this is not what God actually intends. Or maybe there could be people talking you out of things because they experienced a lot of discouragement and their hopes being crushed, and so they think that it's not going to happen and they want you to be safe.
You know, as a minister of the gospel, I've shared this many times. How you know, my family was not okay with me doing ministry. And one of the things I used to often hear is is never going to happen. It's not going to happen. It's not going to become international, it's not going to work out. You're you're just going to get your hopes crushed. These are kind of terminologies I keep hearing every now and then saying that it's not going to happen. You know, you only dream too bake, It's it's not going to work out.
It's you just think you don't understand the seriousness of it and all of those things. Now, to be honest, yes, I don't come from a lineage of ministers. I don't come from a family of supporting people towards my calling and all of those things. That's true. But here's the thing I want you to understand. Just because it didn't happen to others, just because it didn't happen to somebody else, it does not automatically mean that it's not going to happen for you. Okay, I want to just start off by sharing an important thing with you.
When you look at John chapter two, it really caught my attention. That's the incident when Jesus turned water into wine. Right. We always look at this moment when the wine runs out and Mary, the mother of Jesus, goes to Jesus and says the wine is running out, and Jesus says, my time is not yet come women, and eventually he turns water into wine and all of those things. The miracle happens, and we focus on that. But something really caught my attention. Verse eleven is saying this miracle as sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory and his disciples believed in him.
This was the first time Jesus revealed his glory. Right now, till this moment, Jesus had not done a miracle before. He's not done any miracle before. Now you may say, yes, how did the disciples believe in him before? In the sense they followed Jesus because of his words. They were like, wow, this teacher, he's able to speak really nice things, so they followed him. They saw the prophetic hand like if you see this a couple of verses before in chapter one, actually Nathaniel sees how you know Jesus operated in the prophetic telling him about how he saw him under the victory, and he was astonished, How did you know I was under the victory?
And he knew that Jesus had the prophetic power. So they could see the prophetic part of it. They could see the you know that Jesus was wise, he was a teacher. And the fact of how John the Baptist you know, testifies and says, you know, this is the wine coming after me, and he's going to baptize you with the Holy Spirit, and all of those things are true, but I want to focus on this important part. That Jesus performed his first miracle supernatural act here at the wedding in Canada, And what really caught my attention was when the wine ran out?
What made Mary go and tell Jesus about it? What made Mary go and tell Jesus that the wine got over? What was she expecting of Jesus to do, because remember, Jesus has never done a supernatural miracle before. Even if this was right after any other miracle in the world that Jesus had performed. Even if Jesus had performed even a single miracle before, there was a chance that made he told Jesus that a wine was running out because she knew that Jesus could do something about it, that Jesus had the power.
But in this case, when Jesus has never performed a miracle before, what made her tell him about it? Was it just casual conversation saying, hey, the wine got over? Or was it like I know, I'm you're not done miracles before, but what if this could be the one? What if this time it's going to be different? You know, I want you to understand this important thing. Of course, when I ask you. You'll all testify, every single one of you will testify and say, yes, the Lord has done something in my life. God has shown up in my life.
Although that you would say, but that is a level when I say, you would say, I don't think such a big thing can happen in my life. I'm not seeing such a big, big, big miracle in my life. There are miracles in my life, but not big, big, bigcle I not see John. And here is a classic moment when you see Mary has not seen Jesus do any miracle. Nobody has seen any Jesus do any miracle. But Mary still had the audacity to go and tell Jesus this was the problem. What was she expecting of Jesus. Did she know Jesus was going to turn water into wine?
Did she know that Jesus had the power to bring wine somehow? Or was she just telling Jesus like passing information? What was she doing?
And just because Jesus had not gone a miracle till that moment did not mean he did not do a miracle. Then what I want you to understand is just because it didn't work out before, just because things didn't happen the way you thought it should before. Just because things didn't spring out the way you expected it to before, just because you were disappointed before, just because other people were disappointed before. Just because other people did not see their dreams come to pass or their visions become a reality, or they died before they could see the promises become fulfilled in their life, does not mean it is going to be the same case for you.
There is a difference today.
I want you to get this in desperate even like Mary, if you just told Jesus this is my heart, maybe like just passing on information to him. You have no idea what God can do, whether you know that God is going to do it in a certain way or not that secondary. But if you would just be in that relationship with the Lord and say, God, I know I'm not seeing that level of miracles in my life before. But just because I'm not seeing it does not mean it's not going to happen. This could be that one miracle moment.
This could be the first miracle moment like that. This could be the first miracle movement of that degree. This could be the one. This could be the start of something new. Can you make that your commitment? Can you have that perspective today, and I'm sure that you will never be disappointed because when you put your hope, your trust, your reliance upon God, he will not put you to shame those who put their hope and those who have that faith. Abraham believed God and it was accounting to him as righteousness.
The scripture says, think about it. When you believe God and walk in that faith, people may think you're crazy, they think you've lost your mind, but you're going to experience these moments, these miracles that will make you feel like, Wow, I'm glad I didn't give up before. I'm glad I told Jesus about it. Amen, God bless you. You've been listening to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta. We hope you were blessed and inspired to live the life that God has for you.
