Finding Clarity in Life (Part 8) | Write It Down to See Clearly | John Giftah
Tonight's Episode
Clarity often comes when thoughts move from the mind to the page. In Part 8 of the Finding Clarity in Life series, John Giftah explores the biblical and practical importance of writing things down. Drawing from Habakkuk 2:2, where GOD instructs, “Write the vision and make it plain,” this episode highlights how writing brings structure, direction, and clarity. This message also emphasizes why GOD values the written Word (logos) — because what is written becomes a standard, a reference point, and a guide for action. In this episode, you’ll learn:- Why writing brings clarity to confused thoughts
- How structure helps you discern GOD’s direction
- Why GOD often asks us to write, not just hear
- How clarity increases when vision is made plain

Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta.
Speaker 2: Hello everyone, Welcome to this edition of the Fuel for the Soul with John gift of podcast where we've been doing a deep dive on finding clarity in life and have been speaking about a lot of things. And I believe that you can check out the list of topics that we cover, and I really challenge you to do that in a serious manner if you really want to find clarity in your life as well. And today I'm going to talk about another important practical tool on how you can get started in terms of getting clarity.
Speaker 2: Now, yesterday I told you on the importance of pausing and taking a step back, you know, and really getting to a place where you are clearing your mind mentally, and you're also in a place where you're replenishing your physical strength because you need to be in that place where you are not having anything tied up. You're in a place of freedom, and you're in a place where you can think, you know, in a clear fashion. The Bible talks about in second Committee four, verse five, to have a clear mind in all situations.
Speaker 2: So you need to, you know, have that clear mind. And I also spoke about the importance of hearing the voice of God and challenging you to go in that pursuit of you know, hearing the voice of God for yourself. And I really could challenge you to stay tuned because in the later episodes, I'm going to talk about our door series on hearing the Voice of God. But today I'm going to talk about one important practical tool that I really believe is so important as we try to get things in structure in our place, and that is the tool of writing down.
Speaker 2: The tool of writing down. And I want to just click start by sharing this verse with you, which is very famous and popular Habercook two, verse two. It says, write the vision and make it plain on tablets. Write down the vision, write it down. See, I want you to understand. There's a reason why it says write it down. Is that it's not saying memorize it or just keep it in the back of your mind or something that you just meditate. It says, write down. There's a reason for writing down, because I want you to understand something here.
Speaker 2: Even now, much of what we hear about what the Lord wants to speak to us is through the written word, which is the Logos, the written word of God, the Bible that we have right we are not. Of course, the Lord speaks to us through other things. He speaks to us through dreams, visions, and you know, through prophecies, through people, through angelic encounter, spiritual encounters. He speaks to us to circumstances. He speaks to us through everything, because he is a God who can speak through anything and everything.
Speaker 2: Because the Bible says in Psalm twenty four, verse one, the earth and all the people in it, everything in it belongs to the Lot. So you can use anything and everything to speak to us, but everything should align with what he has written right. It should align with the logos. It can never contradict logos the written word. So I want you to understand there's a principle about writing. Why writing, Because you may have one hundred and twenty seven ideas that you want to inculcate. You are saying, you know what, especially in recent times, I've been doing a lot of one on one counseling in sessions with a lot of people who want to find clarity in their life, finding their purpose.
Speaker 2: And if you want to have one on one session, you can always reach out to me through my socials or any way that you know you want to reach out. I want to tell you that, you know, one of the things I see in people when they say, oh, I want to do the will of God, I want to do this, And when I say, okay, let's you know, try to figure out where the Lord is leading you, what is your adio purpose and all of that, and they always have, like, you know, multiple things they want to do, you know what I mean?
Speaker 2: Like I just had a conversation with somebody and they said, you know, I am really passionate I want to go into modeling. And then after a few minutes she said, but I also have a passion to do dj I want to do this, I want to do that. I said, listen, listen, let's jot down, let's write things out. Somebody else I was talking to yesterday because nowadays I've been doing a lot of these kind of counselings, and somebody said, she said, you know what I want to I want to do this kind of a business in the clothing industry, want to do this kind of counseling sessions.
Speaker 2: And I'm also interested in baking, so I want to do I said, hold your horses. Hold your horses, because you see, I'm not saying you know, I'm not discrediting something that you're interested, like like when she mentioned about baking, or when this other person mentioned about DJing, I said, listen, I know you you're passionate about a couple of things. Like if you ask me as an individual, I'm passionate about a couple of things myself, right into podcasts, YouTube, television. I'm doing multiple things in the media space.
Speaker 2: I'm also passionate about traveling and preaching, traveling and ministering to people in different settings. And you know, I'm passionate about even in the motivation space, I do a lot of stuff. I'm passionate. We all all passionate about different things. We're not you know, people who are supposed to be like, you know what, I'm a preacher, I should only do this. I'm a teacher, I should only do this, you know. Like I'm a businessman, I should only do this. No, we have different things that God can use in different areas of her life for different purposes.
Speaker 2: But what I'm trying to tell you is you need to start somewhere. You need to start somewhere. Right. God is not going to ask you to start five things in one go. He's gonna ask you start with this first, be faithful in this, and then let's branch out. You get what I'm saying. When the lot started working the ministry through me, right, it started with podcasts on WhatsApp. Okay, I started way back in twenty thirteen, twenty twelve. It was basically podcasts, right. I didn't do podcast, video, every television, all that in one go.
Speaker 2: I started with podcast and then I branched out into television and YouTube with video recordings at a television studio, and then I branched out into writing books. I branched out into different endoors that started coming out from one over the other. You get what I'm saying. I didn't do like hundred things in one go. I always, you know, I really challenge you. How do you discern which one to start? You write down? I always go back to that, like writing, what should I do this in this doing this setting?
Speaker 2: Like even when I'm for example, when I do video shoots or photo shoots or even for television shoots and all of this, you know, I will have like one hundred, ten tent seven ideas. I will like, oh I want to do this, I want to do that, But I will always get clarity into what to do first, how to go about, when to get started, what is the need of the hour? What is God speaking to me? By writing? Because when you write, you you get clarity. This illustration comes better in this sermon or this particular example will work out better for this kind of first setting.
Speaker 2: You can you can you can try a different example for podcasts. You can try a different example for a live demonstration. So like that God study giving me ideas. When I started jotting things down, you get structure in your mind when you start writing things out. And today that is my challenge to you this year, even as you're planning on you know, getting clarity, moving in the direction that God wants to go. God wants you to go. Ask God for the ability to have a discipline in writing down different things.
Speaker 2: Write it down like you have, like different ideas, write them down. Look at the plus and the minus to strings and the weaknesses, the things where you have an opportunity, the things you have a thread like for example now right now, even through the podcast and I have the YouTube, and even from the YouTube, recently I branched out where into two different languages. I'm posting out short videos dubbed into Tamil and Hindi. Okay, that's apart from the weekly Tamil Project podcast where my sermons get dubbed by somebody else.
Speaker 2: So that is again apart from the weekly television program where my sermons also have a Candida translation. So somebody was telling me, why don't you try this language, tract language? What did I do? I put on each language that was available. I started sorting. I started looking at my capacity as an individual. I can't do. If I had all the time in the world, I could dub into hundred languages, but Okay, my capacity right now is to try two languages. I look at a plus and a minus. Okay, if I do this, what will be the situation?
Speaker 2: What if I do that? What will be the advantage If I do some other language? Where will I be?
Speaker 1: There?
Speaker 2: Percussions and all of that. So I jotted down, I wrote God clarity, and then took a step of faith O create what I'm saying. So today my challenge is when you want to find your clarity in life the area that God wants you to move, start writing, Start writing, get a book, get a notebook, get a piece of paper, start jotting. Look at the strength, the weakness, the opportunities to creds everything, and according to that you know you pray in the Holy Ghost. Let the Lord speak over those and lead you to take the first step in the direction that he wants.
