Finding GOD's Will Sermon Series Part 16 - Don’t Neglect SIGNS | John Giftah | Christian Sermon

as we've been discussing on the video aspects in finding and knowing God's will for

a life, today, I'm going to talk about the next aspect, and

that is the aspect of science. Right. I want you to understand that

some people have this aversion towards science. You know, Oh my goodness,

I don't want to go after science because oh, this generation just wants science

and wonders. Now listen, I'm not asking you to go after science.

I'm not asking you to run after and keep that as your main focus.

But at the same time, I don't want you to neglect the aspect of

science as well. Right. I think I started off with the right note

when I said that the first and foremost aspect you need to remember is that

God's will will align with his word. So that is like the Constitution,

or that is like the structure from which we are building the various aspects of

finding and knowing God's will, no doubt about that. But at the same

time, you have to understand that there is a place for science, there

is a place for wonders, there is a place where God confirms his word

with science. I know the scripture people always take it in the area of

miracles and healings and all of that, and I totally agree with miracles and

healings, and I'm in full fledged support of all of that. But I

just want to share this in this perspective here mark chapter sixteen, verse twenty.

Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with

them and confirmed his word by the science. He confirmed the Word with signs

that followed. Now in the context here is that the Word was preaching about

the Kingdom of God. The Word was preaching about the good News of God.

So while you're preaching, this is the word. To infirm that word.

There were signs, there were miracles, there were healings, and those

other things that followed. Now, in the context of our series where we

are saying, I want to know God's will for my life, I want

what is God's word for me, The God's word that I want to follow

from my life, God's word that will be the direction for my life,

the word that will guide me, the word that is the light onto my

path and the lamp into my feet. That that guiding word. It is

going to be accompanied by signs. I hope you're getting what I'm saying.

I hope you're getting the perspective and the context in which I'm trying to take

this forward. Don't run after the sign, don't put the signs and wonders

as your main perspective. But that's one way God can guide you to where

he wants you to go, and you look at it in that way.

For example, if you see in Psalm eighty six, verse seventeen, the

psalmist is saying, Oh Lord, show me a sign of your favor.

Now that the translation says, oh Lord, give me a sign of your

goodness. Now I wanted understand when you do not know what is God's will,

when you want to know for sure this is from God, this is

the direction God wants you to go. It's totally okay for you to ask

God to give you some sign to confirm it. If you see. One

of the classic examples I can cue is that of my favorite character in the

Bible, Hezekiah, second King, strip to twenty. But the Lord gave

the word through prophet Isaiah. He said, you're going to live for fifteen

more years. Zakaiah was not con that the prophet gave the word of the

Lord. He said, that's good, that's the word of the Lord.

But I want a sign. What sign will I get to know? And

I know without the shadow of a doubt that this is the word of the

Lord for me, This is the will of God for me? What sign

will I get from the Lord? And for that one man's sake, the

sun goes back just to convince Zekaiah that this is God's will for him,

This is the will of God for him, This is the word of God

for him. Now, when you look at your life in this perspective,

you have to remember that the God who made the Son to go back for

the sake of one man, just to convince him such a big sign in

his life. God knows what he needs to do to convince you. But

are you bold enough to ask God, show me a sign of your favor.

God, make the sun to go back like the way Zakaia had that

boldness. Oh, John, but that happened in the Bible times. I

don't think God can go to such extends today. Well, here's the flash

news. The God of the Bible is the same yesterday, today, and

forever. There was a time when it hadn't rained for two and a half

months. I didn't know about it. But one morning I wake up and

I wanted God to give me a sign, and I wanted God to convince

me about something. And I said, God, I want you to make

it rain. When I said that, I didn't realize that it hadn't rain

for two and a half months. But I afterwards I remembered, and I

said, God, yes, it hadn't rained for the past two and a

half months. But if for the saying of one man called Zathaiah, if

you could make the sun to go back, then for just me, you

can make it rain today. And that day it rained, and again for

the next three weeks there was no rain. So in the period of almost

three months or more, the only day it rained was the day it rained

when I asked God to make it rain, to convince the word for me.

Think about it. The God who made the son to go back for

one man, the God who made the rain just for me, is the

same God in your life as well. Just for you. He can go

to any extent to convince you and show you a sign, to tell you

that he cares for you, to show you this is the way you need

to go. When I was sharing this testimony, there was a person in

in one of the nations listening to my message, and again he was saying

that this was not the season for rain, all right. And while he

was listening, he said, God, if you could bring rain just for

John Gifta, I want you to bring rain just for me today to prove

something or to convince me. This is your will for me. And he

shared the testimony saying that it has studedly started raining. And he said,

wow, I never saw that coming. Now I wanted to think about it.

I'm not just giving arbitrary examples from my life alone. I'm talking about

people who have listened to this message, is who have gone back to the

Lord and said, God, I'm the same God of John. Give this

to the same God of my life. And when they asked the Lord,

and God has done it for them as well. God will do it for

you. God will do it for you. And I want to close with

one more thing when you're asking for signs from the Lord, to show that

this is what God wants you to do. See if you see in Second

King spar twenty when Isaiah comes and says, okay, you want a sign.

What do you want? Do you want the sun to go forward or

do you want the sun to go backward? And you know what, Ezakaria

says, It is very easy for the sun to go forward. It is

a simple thing. I don't want a simple thing. I want the sun

to go backward. In other words, and he was asking God for a

sign. He didn't settle for a simple sign. He asked God to do

something that was impossible. He said, it is a simple thing for the

sun to go forward, because the sun will always move in the forward direction.

But I wanted to go backward because it's impossible. So today, when

you're pulled enough to ask God to do something impossible. When you're pulled enough

to ask God for something that's not just simple but that's really really only the

hand of God, it can make it happen. God will still do it

for you. I want to close with this example again for my life.

So I wanted God to give me a confirmation about something, a word that

he was stirring in my spirit. So I said, God, y's the

thing. I said, This is the sign I want you to give me.

I I was walking back home one day, so I said, the

minute I go home, my mom should use the word confused or confusion as

the first sentence when I enter my house. This is my This is what

I said. Okay, I know it's very arbitrary. I said, I

want her to use the word confusion or confused when I enter the house.

This is what I said. So I go back home, and I didn't

tell anything to anybody. This is only between me and the Lord. I

go back home and my mom opens the door, and she was teaching students

exactly at that time, and she opens the door. She doesn't tell me

anything. She just turns back to them and she says, I think you

got confused. She said that that was the first ten things. She just

said, turning back looking at them. I asked for something that was like

one in a million chance of it happening. You know, she was teaching

the students. I didn't know what was going to happen at home. I

didn't know whether you know, my mom was going to be at home and

I go back. You know, it was just an our bittery thing.

I just asked the Lord, think about it. How in the world did

that happen? That I get home? And the first sentence I hear is

the world confused in it? Then, without any doubt about it, I

just said, Okay, this is from the Lord, and I went ahead

and did what he was asking me to do with no thoughts, no second

thoughts about it. So that's what I want you guys to understand. Even

if you think you're asking God for something simple, or you want to be

bold enough and to ask him for something very difficult, which seems like out

of the world, I'm here to announced to you if God wants this to

be done, he can convince you anyway. He can show you signs that

will make you know without a shadow, for this is you and he will

do it for you. Amen. So I'll see you again in tomorrow's episode.
