Gifta International. Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John GIFTA. Hey,
everybody, it's such a joy for me to be with all of you today.
I'm currently doing a CDs on the aspect of knowing God's will, and
as children of God, many of us want to know God's will. Some
of us are like, you know what, I do not know if I'm
actually walking in God's will. And we want to often question or introspect ourselves
and to understand if you're actually in the center of God's will or are we
running away from what God has in store for us and things like that.
So as I'm doing that in my previous episode, I spoke about the first
aspect of knowing God's will. It is to have that desire to know God's
will. I encourage you to check it out because I share a couple of
things. I believe it very important for you to check yourself and introspect and
know for a share of a doubt that you have the right intention and you
have the right desire towards you knowing God's will. And now when we talk
about the second aspect, is to have that strong commitment to know God's will
and to say you know what, God, I want to know your will.
But at the same time, I want to tell you for a fact
that when you tell me, whether it makes sense or doesn't make sense,
whether it is comfortable for me or not comfortable for me, whether it is
in line with what I want or not, I'm still willing to do it.
You know, it's a place where you are in a total surrender to
God and say God, yes, I have these desires, Yes I have
these passions and goals and aspirations, and these are the things that I really
wish would happen in my life. But still I come to a place where
I'm saying God, I don't care even if you know those desires or those
gifts or those talents are not coming to manifestation, or those dreams are not
going to happen. I don't care even if that does not happen. But
I come to a place where I'm saying God, I'm committed to do whatever
it takes to do what you have called me to do. That is a
place that God expects us to go to a place where, without a shadow
of a doubt, you're saying God, I don't care even if it is
exactly the opposite of what I'm praying for. But if that is what you
want, I'm willing to do it. That is the kind of a commitment
God is looking for. Because it's one thing to say God, I want
to know your will, But it's another thing. What if when God tells
you what is you know his will for you, and you would not go
in that way? Right? So God wants to be sure that when he
tells you what is his will, you would walk by it, right.
So it comes to a place where you realize that you are making that commitment
and you're surrendering every aspect of your life, whether it's your dreams, your
visions, your aspirations and your plans and everything, and you give it and
lay it at the feet of the Lord and say God, not my will,
but y'all will be done. And then through my life. I want
to share two scriptures with you, all right. The first thing is again,
these two scriptures are very familiar, but still I want to just bring
it into the light of today's message. One is Luke twenty two forty two,
where Jesus is saying, Father, if you are willing take this cup
from me, because Jesus does not want that cup, right, He's like,
if you can please take this cup from me, it would be really
good, but bad bad, but yet not my will. But let y'all
will be done. Not my will, but let your will be done.
I want your will to be done and not mine. Jesus was making a
commitment, and he was dealing without a shadow of it doubt. I really
don't want this, but I'm committed to doing what you want, even if
it's not what I want. He was having that complete commitment to do God's
will even when it was uncomfortable, even when it was not what he wanted.
Now, another example of another person who did a very similar thing was
in Luke Chapter one was Study eight when we talk about the time when the
word of the Lord is given to Mary, the mother of Jesus, and
the word of the Lord is talking about how she's going to bear the son
of the Living God. You have to understand Mary is saying, I am
the Lord's servant. May your word be fulfilled to me? Or different translations
say different things. And if you say, may everything you have said about
me come true? Another the translation said, let it be done according to
your word, or you know, in this case you say it's it's talking
about the world. The world that was given was what was God's will for
her, So it was saying, you know what, let In other words,
what she was saying is whatever is God's will for me, let it
be done according to it. May everything that is spoken about and said,
this is what is God's will for me, Let it be done. And
I'm an open book saying let it be done. I wanted to understand when
she said yes to God's will, it was not easy for her when she
was going to bear a child without knowing a man. Think about how many
people would call it as a controversy. Think about all the complications that you
or she would have endured. Look at the society now, even today's context.
If you see, the society can be really detrimental. The society can
talk behind you, they can push you, they can crush you. You
know, in a skids situation like this. Now think about this two thousand
years ago, how the society would have handled it and how you know,
it could have been in a very bad shape. But she was willing to
endure all of that because she said, you know what, I'm not going
to compromise on doing what God has ordained for my life. I don't care
if other people understand or not. I don't care if it is in line
with what society expects of me or not. I don't care if it is
what is kosher or not. If I don't care if it is comfortable or
not. I don't care if it puts me in a bad spot or it
puts me on the spotlight. I don't care, because by the end of
the day, I want to do the will of Him who sent me.
Can you make a commitment today? Can you do that? I'll just close
with this example from my life. Some of you know this that you know
because of certain reasons I am in though I've been praying, you know,
my personal desire and vicious. You know, you know that I would be
in you know, full time ministry or not just ministry. Wouldn't just call
it ministry. But you know, the ministry is one part. But I
do have certain other dreams and aspirations that I would see you know, you
know, income in different ways and so that I would be able to sustain
at the same time, you know, run the ministry and all of those
things. But somehow, you know, you know, I still work in
a in a job and then I run the ministry. So for me,
I was really praying, I've been praying for many many years. You know
that God will help me, you know, walk in the fullness of what
He has for me. You know, I had my personal desires was that
you know, the ministry would get established, or you know, things would
happen like I would get support from family or you know, something like that.
I keep praying that God would do that and things like that. But
at the same time, by the end of the day, I would always
come down and say, God, that is what I really wish would happen.
That is what I really want should happen, but I would always come
back and say, yet, not my will, but your will be done.
Even recently I had to make a transition to a new job and all
of that. For me personally, I was kind of like not in the
right mood, right, you know, I was kind of disappointed because I
was hoping, you know, maybe God will do a miracle in the ministry
or you know, the I will get financially stabilized in the different things I
do and you know that could help me and things like that. And I
was disappointed because I didn't see, you know, that happened. But I
had to come down to this place where I had to say God, you
know, by the end of the day, I did my best, whether
it's the ministry or the podcast or my YouTube or you know, everything,
I did my best to the best of my ability. At the same time,
I had the faith that God could do it. At the same time,
I also, you know, I believed that, you know, God
was showing me that there was going to be a transition and all of that.
But in all of that, I told God, not my will,
but your will be done. And God reminded me of that and said,
didn't you pray that and say, God, not my will, but your
will be done. So when this is where you are and you're not able
to change where you are, why did you accept that this is what is
my will? And I mean where I am it is not my permanent residence.
It's it's a temporary phase by the end of the day. But I
had to do what I'm asking you guys to do, to accept and say,
Okay, God, this is what I want. But by the end
of the day, what I want ultimately is your will to be done in
and through my life, even though it makes me uncomfortable, even though I
really wish this was not my case, even though I really wish I was
in a different position or place, or you know, maybe I would be
in on a different level or whatever. Even though I wish for this and
that, I prayed and I did all sorts of staff. I worked my
best, but things didn't happen. I had to do what I'm asking you
to do to come to a place where I said, yes, God,
let it be done according to your will, because I can't force it,
and I don't want anything that does not belong to me. I don't want
anything that is not from the Lord for me, so I just take it.
Okay. I did my best, but this is where God has placed
me for now. So I learned to accept and say, this is God's
will for me for this season. You get what I'm saying. So you
had to come to that place, even if that's not what you want.
You had to accept and give yourself into the hands of Almighty God and say,
God, I said, ender myself to you. I said ender my
will to you. I said ender my dreams, my desires and everything into
your hands. You take complete control. And when you commit yourself to that
place where you say, even if it is not what I want, it's
okay. Even if that's not what I dreamt of, it's okay. Even
if that's not what I wish for, it's okay. Even if that makes
me cry and be uncomfortable, that's okay. If that's what you have for
me, I know by the end of the day, you know what's best
for me, and I trust you, And that's the place I encourage you
to go to. When you have that place, I want to talk about
the next aspect of knowing God's will in tomorrow section God Bless you. You've
