Following GOD's Guidance | A Christmas Call to Complete Obedience | Christian Sermon | John Giftah
Tonight's Episode
In this powerful Christmas sermon, John Giftah uses the life of Joseph to challenge believers to live a life completely led by GOD. Every major step Joseph took—whether taking Mary as his wife, fleeing to Egypt, or returning home—was based on divine instruction, not emotion, fear, or human logic. Joseph didn’t move unless GOD spoke. He didn’t act based on pressure.
He didn’t follow his own understanding.
He lived a life fully guided by Heaven. This sermon invites you to embrace the same posture:
👉 to follow GOD even when it doesn’t make sense,
👉 to trust His voice more than your feelings,
👉 to rely on His leading more than circumstances,
👉 and to walk in complete obedience to the HOLY SPIRIT’s guidance. If Joseph had missed even one instruction, the destiny of JESUS’ earthly journey could have been compromised. In the same way, your destiny often depends on how fully you follow GOD’s direction. This Christmas, make a fresh commitment:
Be led by GOD — completely.

Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta.
Speaker 2: When we're looking at the passage in Matthew chapter one
Speaker 2: and Matthy chapter two in regard to the birth of Jesus,
Speaker 2: there's an important characteristic that we can learn from the
Speaker 2: life of Joseph that we can apply in our everyday life.
Speaker 2: When he saw the reversy with regard to Mary, when
Speaker 2: she said that she was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Speaker 2: he was contemplating on letting her go. But in Matthew one,
Speaker 2: verse twenty, it says that the Angel of the Lord
Speaker 2: came to him and said, you know, don't be afraid
Speaker 2: to take Mary as your wife, and he listens to
Speaker 2: that divine instruction and takes Mary as his wife. When
Speaker 2: you look at Matthew chapter two, there's a moment when
Speaker 2: the wise men came and met, and it was an
Speaker 2: amazing thing when they shared how the star guided them
Speaker 2: to Jesus and they worship Jesus. So Joseph could have
Speaker 2: been on like, wow, you know this, this is so good.
Speaker 2: You could have been caught up in that moment. But
Speaker 2: in verse thirteen, it says when they had gone, the
Speaker 2: Angel of the Lord appear to Joseph in a dream, saying,
Speaker 2: get up, take the child and this mother and escape
Speaker 2: to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Hered
Speaker 2: is about to kill him. And verse fourteen says, so
Speaker 2: he got up, took the child and the mother in
Speaker 2: the night, and left to Egypt. When you look at
Speaker 2: verse nineteen, it says after Er died, an Angel of
Speaker 2: the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said,
Speaker 2: get up, take the child and his mother, and go
Speaker 2: to the land of Israel. For those who are trying
Speaker 2: to take the child's life are dead. When you look
Speaker 2: at these verses, the common theme that we understand about
Speaker 2: Joseph was that he did not just go by how
Speaker 2: he felt at that moment. He did not just go
Speaker 2: by how everything looked on the outside. He went by
Speaker 2: the leading of God over his life. Even though he
Speaker 2: understood the consequence and the controversy with regard to Mary
Speaker 2: conceiving through the Holy Spirit what happened. He did not
Speaker 2: go into that or give in to that and say
Speaker 2: I don't want to stay in this. He allowed the
Speaker 2: voice of God to lead him, and he took the
Speaker 2: right step even when he just saw amazing moment when
Speaker 2: the wise men had come and you know, they were like, oh,
Speaker 2: my goodness, this is so good. Everybody's cheering for Jesus.
Speaker 2: In the midst of that high moment, he was still
Speaker 2: sensitive to hear the divine instruction saying it's time for
Speaker 2: you to run. And even when Herod died, he didn't say, oh,
Speaker 2: hero died and immediately left. Only after the Angel of
Speaker 2: the Lord appeared and said Herod, and not only Herod.
Speaker 2: If you see the worse, it says, all who were
Speaker 2: trying to kill the child are dead. In other words,
Speaker 2: maybe apart from Herod, that could have been other people
Speaker 2: in that palace who also wanted to kill Jesus. So
Speaker 2: in a sense, he didn't just go by the headlines,
Speaker 2: Oh Herod died, let me go back. He waited for
Speaker 2: God's instruction and then he went. So today my challenge is,
Speaker 2: I want you to be led by the Holy Spirit,
Speaker 2: be led by God, and be divinely instructed in every
Speaker 2: way you need to go. And that's how you will
Speaker 2: see God show up and show out in your life.
