If Your Life Feels Like a Mess, GOD Still Has a Plan | Lessons from Moses | John Giftah | Christian Sermon
Tonight's Episode
Have you ever felt like your life was once on track — and now everything feels messy, confusing, and upside down? In today’s episode of Fuel for the Soul with John Giftah, we draw encouragement from Exodus 3 and the life of Moses. Moses once lived in the palace, surrounded by comfort and privilege. But suddenly, his life took a drastic turn — he found himself in the wilderness, tending sheep that didn’t even belong to him, far from the life he once knew. It may have looked like a setback — but it was actually a setup for GOD’s greater purpose. This episode reminds you that:- A messy season does not mean GOD has forgotten you
- Detours are often part of GOD’s divine plan
- Just because life feels uncomfortable now doesn’t mean your calling is over
- GOD can call you from the “backside of the desert” into your assignment
GOD still has a plan for you — and HE is not done with your story. 🎧 Listen to Fuel for the Soul with John Giftah and be reminded that even messy seasons are meaningful in GOD’s hands.

Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John GIFTA.
Speaker 2: Hello everyone, Welcome to this edition of the Fuel for the Solo John gift of podcast. And is such a joint honor for me to be with you today as I want to talk about something and I want to really encourage you that if you're in a season where you feel like John, my life feels like everything is a mess, nothing seems to make any sense. I feel like, you know, things were much better laid up in the past for me, but right now everything is just out of control. Nothing is working out, nothing seems to be making sense, and I really do not know what is going on.
Speaker 2: If there's one phrase I want you to take away from this is that no matter what your life looks like right now, no matter whether you're in a mess because of just circumstance happening that way, life happening that way, or because of somebody else's mistake, or because of your own mistakes, I want to let you know that God still has a plan for your life. God still has a purpose for your life, and his plans for you are not to make your life miserable, but his plans for you are for good. And He still has a way to use everything, both good and bad, the things that happen because of life happening, or the things that happen because of what you did.
Speaker 2: But I want to tell you something today that God's still has a plan for your life. Now, I want to talk about something very very important here. When you look at Exodus chapter three, there's a quick thing I want to remind you that Moses is in a place if you see in the chapter one sorry, in chapter three, verse one, it says one day Moses was tending the flock of his father in law Jetro, and he led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai, the Mountain of God. Okay, But I want you to understand something here.
Speaker 2: Moses grew up in the Palace. Moses grew up in the most powerful nation in the world of that time, that was Egypt. He was in Egypt, which is the powerful nation like how today, for instance, if you look at something like the United States of America, how it's in terms of the power and in terms of the position and the dominance that it holds. Egypt was like that. Moses grew up in that kind of a place. Or if I were to give you a different example to understand royalty, it would be something like the United Kingdom.
Speaker 2: How you have the monarch and you have you know, somebody in the royal family, like growing up in the royal family of UK. How much of power, how much of prominence, and what kind of a lifestyle they would be having. This is the life that Moses grew up with. But I wanted to understand here is a place where Moses, Moses, because he murders someone, and understand something. He didn't murder because he was intentionally murdering. He murdered just because he wanted to do the right thing. Ended up doing the wrong thing.
Speaker 2: He ended up murdering someone and he had to run for his life. He's a fugitive. And here's the thing I wanted to understand. Here is a moment where it says that, okay, he is a shepherd is one thing, but he'd say is that he was tending the flock of his father in law. Think about this. Even the flock did not belong to him. He did not even own the sheep that he was tending. It was literally like out into nothing, you know. One of the translations says, he's into the backside of the wilderness. The wilderness itself is bad.
Speaker 2: On top of that, he is in the backside, far side of the wilderness. I don't know who I'm talking to, but some of you are in a place in your life where you feel, like John, it's because of my mistake. I should have done this, or I didn't do this because it's all about me, or maybe life just happened it was just unfair to you. And you're saying, John, everything was going good in my life and now everything is upside down. I don't understand what is going on. Maybe, just like Moses, who had a very comfortable beginning, where he was in the elite, he was in the prominence, He was in a place where everything was comfortable.
Speaker 2: And now here he is where he cannot own or he is not owning even a sheep from a place where he was the prince. Now he is one who is not even honing the sheep that he has to tend to think about this. Everything has come to nothing for him.
Speaker 1: Today.
Speaker 2: You may be feeling like that, like everything has come to nothing. You're in the wilderness where everything is dry, nothing is working out. You are in a place where you own nothing. You are a nobody. Nobody cares a damn about you, and people have forgotten you. You know, I'm here to announce to you. Even if people have forgotten, misunderstood, and never cared about you, there is a God who still cares for you. There is a God who still has a plan for you. There is a God who still has a purpose for your life.
Speaker 2: And today I wanted to remind you and encourage you that the same God who still intervened in Moses's life and said, I still have a plan and a purpose and an assignment for your life. And God took him from this mess that he was in and allowed him to be the one who delivered the people from a bondage towards the promised Land. I want to tell you that God your heart still has a unique plan and the purpose for your life. So today I want you to be encouraged. I want you to remember this and I want you to let this sink into your spirit that you're not here by accident.
Speaker 2: You're not just trying to make it through life. And you don't have to accept whatever happened as the lot in your life. But you can accept that you know what, God still has a plan and a purpose for you, and you can trust him, wait upon him, and He's going to do something marvelous in and through your life. If you believe. I want you to just share this with someone and encourage him and remind him that God still has a beautiful plan, purpose and assignment for their life. Amen. God bless you.
