Not Every Open Door Is from GOD | Being Led by the Holy Spirit in Making Decisions | John Giftah | Christian Sermon
Tonight's Episode
Sometimes we assume that as long as we are doing something good for GOD, it must automatically be the right thing to do.But in Acts 16, we see something surprising.
Paul and his companions were traveling to preach the Gospel. Yet the Bible tells us that the HOLY SPIRIT prevented them from going to certain places.
Later, GOD redirected them through a vision that led them to Macedonia.
This passage teaches us an important lesson: even when our intentions are good, we still need to be led by the HOLY SPIRIT.
Sometimes what we think is opposition from the enemy may actually be GOD redirecting us to something better.
In this episode, John Giftah challenges believers to move beyond decisions based only on logic, opportunity, or urgency, and instead learn to seek the leading of the HOLY SPIRIT in every area of life.

Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John GIFTA.
Speaker 2: Hey, such a joy for me to join you today.
Speaker 2: If you've been checking out my episodes for the last
Speaker 2: couple of days this week, I've been talking about how
Speaker 2: we need to be aware and walk in that awareness
Speaker 2: of who's living on the insidifus, that is the Holy Spirit,
Speaker 2: and also the fact of how if you really want
Speaker 2: to testify for Jesus, if you really want to live
Speaker 2: the Christian life that you are called to live, you
Speaker 2: need to be aware of the presence of the Holy Spirit,
Speaker 2: and you need to develop your walk with the Holy Spirit,
Speaker 2: and you need to be in a place where you're
Speaker 2: sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, because the
Speaker 2: Bible is very clear that we need to be always
Speaker 2: be filled with the Holy Spirit, that we need to
Speaker 2: be led by the Holy Spirit. And this is something
Speaker 2: that many times we in the back of our minds
Speaker 2: forget it because we are just living our life. I
Speaker 2: need to be aware, I need to make this decision,
Speaker 2: I need to do this, I need to do that.
Speaker 2: We are, you know, moving in that place of rational
Speaker 2: thinking and logical thinking where it's all about our decision making.
Speaker 2: But rather I want to challenge you that, yes, I'm
Speaker 2: not saying be stupid. I'm not saying be foolish. I'm
Speaker 2: not saying, you know, turn off your brain like I'm
Speaker 2: not saying in a negative light. But there's a place where, yes,
Speaker 2: you need to use wisdom discernment which God has given you.
Speaker 2: But there's also a place where you need to understand
Speaker 2: that you need to be led by the Holy Spirit.
Speaker 2: And sometimes when the Holy Spirit leads you, you may
Speaker 2: not even understand why he leads you in a certain way,
Speaker 2: and you need to still trust his leading because you
Speaker 2: know he knows what he's doing with your life. Now,
Speaker 2: let me give you an example, right, Like, for example,
Speaker 2: if you see one of the commandments that Jesus gave
Speaker 2: is go into all the world and preach the Gospel.
Speaker 2: This is like if I were to tell anybody, everybody
Speaker 2: would accept. Yes, Jesus wants you to go and preach,
Speaker 2: going and preaching about the cost good news of Jesus Christ,
Speaker 2: sharing the Word of God, sharing the Gospel, doing things
Speaker 2: for the Kingdom of God is something that nobody will
Speaker 2: deny as something bad. But I want to share something
Speaker 2: with you. If you look at Actscepter sixteen, right, there's
Speaker 2: something that really caught my attention. I think you might
Speaker 2: have heard about this section, but I just want to
Speaker 2: remind you and recommend this to you. If you look
Speaker 2: at verse six onwards, and I'm leading to you from
Speaker 2: the NLT version, right, Paul and Silas ravel through the
Speaker 2: area of Phrygia and Galicia because the Holy Spirit prevented
Speaker 2: them from preaching the Word of God in the province
Speaker 2: of Asia at that time. Okay, think about this. It
Speaker 2: seems like a contradiction. The Holy Spirit prevented them from
Speaker 2: preaching the Word of God, from preaching the gospel, Like
Speaker 2: come on, I mean like it seems like, oh man,
Speaker 2: you know what, if you look at it in the
Speaker 2: logical sense, it feels like it's the spirit of the Antichrist,
Speaker 2: because how can you say the Holy Spirit doesn't want
Speaker 2: you to preach? You know what I mean, Preaching is
Speaker 2: a good thing. Preaching is I mean, you don't want
Speaker 2: souls to get lost, right, But here's the thing I
Speaker 2: wanted to go on. Then, coming to the borders of Mysia,
Speaker 2: they headed north for the province of Bithnia, but again
Speaker 2: the spirit of Jesus did not allow them to go there.
Speaker 2: Think about this like, it seems like a contradiction. So
Speaker 2: instead they went on too Mysia to the seaport of Proess.
Speaker 2: Verse nine says that night Paul ad Division, a man
Speaker 2: from Macedonia in Greece or standing there, pleading with them,
Speaker 2: come over to Macedonia and help us. So we decided
Speaker 2: to leave for Macedonia at once, having concluded that God
Speaker 2: was calling us to preach to good news there. Now
Speaker 2: think about this even a thing like, Okay, you know what,
Speaker 2: I'm called to preach, So it doesn't matter where I
Speaker 2: got to go. I'm called to do this good work.
Speaker 2: So it doesn't matter which strategy God wants me to
Speaker 2: use I'm called to do ministry. It doesn't matter which
Speaker 2: a platform I should use. You know, that's how we
Speaker 2: generally think. But God is saying, you know what, even
Speaker 2: in that, you need to be led by the spirit,
Speaker 2: because sometimes God may not lead you to do certain
Speaker 2: things the way others expect. People may tell, oh, you're
Speaker 2: called to preach, just go and preach. Oh you need
Speaker 2: to be the light in the darkness. Go and be
Speaker 2: the light in the darkness in this platform, on this network,
Speaker 2: or go on this particular neighborhood or this community. But
Speaker 2: here's the thing I wanted to understand that you need
Speaker 2: to be in a place where you're so sensitive to
Speaker 2: the leading of the Holy Spirit that even if he
Speaker 2: leads you in a way that contradicts normal direction, are
Speaker 2: you will to take the price for that? Because if
Speaker 2: I were to go and say the Law told me
Speaker 2: not to preach, you may call me the Antichrist. You
Speaker 2: may say I'm led by her an evil spirit. You
Speaker 2: may say that that contradicts the word. But yes, the
Speaker 2: thing you see that the Holy Spirit himself led them
Speaker 2: away from preaching in certain places and led them to
Speaker 2: where they were supposed to be see can you be
Speaker 2: in a place where you develop your relationship with the
Speaker 2: Holy Spirit so much that you are knowing without a
Speaker 2: shadow for that that He wants you to go in
Speaker 2: a certain direction. He wants you to take a certain step,
Speaker 2: He wants you to follow a certain methodology or a strategy.
Speaker 2: He wants you to go in a certain way getting
Speaker 2: about to finishing the purpose that God has in store
Speaker 2: for you. You can't explain it to people. People may
Speaker 2: not understand it. You can't put it on paper, you
Speaker 2: can't explain it with da But can you get to
Speaker 2: that place where you say, you know what, if this
Speaker 2: is the way the Holy Spirit is leading. Just like
Speaker 2: the minute they got that vision, Diminity saw that there
Speaker 2: was a leading in a certain direction, they concluded that
Speaker 2: the Lord was leading them to go and preach the
Speaker 2: good news there. So today and my challenge is the
Speaker 2: same thing. Develop your relationship with God to an extent
Speaker 2: where you're not just led by your feelings, your emotions,
Speaker 2: by open doors and close doors. Just because you can
Speaker 2: go to a certain place doesn't mean God wants you
Speaker 2: to go there. You need to be sensitive to the
Speaker 2: Holy Spirit such that you know that the Lord wants
Speaker 2: you to go to a certain place. He will open
Speaker 2: the right doors. He will make a way in the
Speaker 2: right direction that He will take you places that He
Speaker 2: is meant for your life.
