0:54 It's wonderful for me to be back on this edition off the Fuel for the

0:58 Soul with John Gifta podcast episode. Even as we are in the last pinnacle

1:02 of twenty twenty three, in the last couple of days, as we step

1:07 into twenty twenty four, you know, I wanted to talk about something I

1:10 believe is so important to prepare ourselves for the upcoming year, to train ourselves

1:17 or to have the right you know, lifestyle that we need to have as

1:19 Christians, as believers. I know there are so many things that we can

1:23 talk about but I'm going to talk from a passage, you know, little

1:26 by little in the next couple of days. And it may be just as

1:30 simple as remind us for us, But I believe that you know when when

1:34 you just say God, you know what, this is a reminder for me

1:37 to welcome this area of my life for that area of my life. So

1:41 I just pray that it will really help you to make this decision as you

1:45 prepare for the new year as well. So I'm going to start off with

1:48 this very familiar passage by the way, So it's just found in first of

1:53 Salonians, chapter five, verse sixteen. Rejoice always, and the NLT version

1:57 says, always be joyful, rejoice always, rejoice at all times, always

2:02 be rejoicing. You know, these are things that are constantly coming. And

2:07 so I want to start off by this thing where I want to see what

2:12 the definition of rejoice mean, or you know the synonyms of rejoice. It

2:16 is basically like having a sense of celebration, delight, enjoyment, glory,

2:23 joy, triumph, and rejoice is basically to feel or show great happiness about

2:29 something. You know. A lot of times, you know, we let

2:32 our happiness, our joyfulness be determined by our circumstance, you know, John,

2:39 you know what, if things go my way, then I'm going to

2:40 be happy. But I don't think I should be happy because things have not

2:45 been going my way. Things are just going against me. I've been bombarded

2:47 on every direction, so many deadlines, so many issues dealing with, and

2:53 I just don't have a reason why I need to be joyful or rejoice,

2:57 or even the scripture or even sometimes it could be like John, you know,

3:02 like I don't feel like being happy. You know, I don't feel

3:05 like it. I feel so sad, I feel so down. And you

3:08 know, this can be a wake up call for each one of us,

3:12 you know, I mean including myself. You know that. You know,

3:15 let this be a new mode to be operating from in twenty twenty four,

3:21 where we're not going to be led by what we feel, We're not going

3:24 to be led by our emotions. We're not going to be led by our

3:28 circumstances. But we're going to choose to rejoice irrespective of our circumstances. You

3:34 know, even when you think about this, Apostle Paul, when he said

3:37 rejoice in the Lord always and again, I say rejoice, he didn't say

3:42 this when he was having the best time of his life. He said this

3:46 when he was in the prison. You said this when he was in Chaine.

3:49 He said this when he was in a very uncomfortable season. You know,

3:52 you can be in an uncomfortable season. You can be in change that

3:57 you're still dealing with. You can be in struggles of your life. You

4:00 can be in a place where you're saying, I'm entering twenty twenty four or

4:03 in the spinnacle of twenty twenty three, even though I'm not seeing the answers

4:09 to my prayers, but I still choose to rejoice. I still choose to

4:13 be glad. I still choose to be cheerful. I still choose to be

4:17 joyful. No matter what, can you make that your anthem today that you

4:23 will rejoice in the Lord always, not when you feel like it, not

4:27 when things go your way, but always. Amen. God bless you.
