0:54 It's wonderful for me to be back on this edition of the Fuel for the

0:58 Soul with John gift of podcast. And as I've shared with you in the

1:02 last two episodes that the last couple of days of this year, I just

1:07 wanted to focus on things that we can remind ourselves. Many of these things

1:11 you may already know, but this is just a reminder to share with you.

1:15 To have this as a checklist for you as you step into the new

1:19 year, that you will step into the new year with the right perspective,

1:23 the right lifestyle that will help you see the results that you're hoping for as

1:27 you prepare for the new upcoming here as well. So I've been talking about

1:32 this and I want to jump into first the Salonians chapter five, verse eighteen,

1:38 and today I'm going to talk from the first part of this verse,

1:40 which you might already have guessed, and it says, give thanks to the

1:45 Lord in all circumstances, give thanks in everything you know, be thankful in

1:52 all circumstances. I'm talking about different translations. This is what it says,

1:56 in everything, give thanks for this is God's will for you, you in

2:00 Christ Jesus, and no matter what, just give thanks. Even if you

2:05 look at the messagation, that's what it says, thank God no matter what

2:09 happens, because we have a tendency where we are grateful or thankful only when

2:15 something good happens, when the Lord shows up in some area, when God

2:20 does something in our life, and then we are grateful, then we are

2:23 thankful. But today my challenge to each one of you, and that sound

2:25 of my voices the Bible is saying, you know, in everything, give

2:29 thanks. Can you have that lifestyle where you want to give thanks when you

2:34 have that altitude of gratitude no matter what, no matter what you face,

2:38 no matter where you go, no matter what happens, no matter you know

2:43 what season of life you're in, even if even as you're looking at you

2:46 know, today being the thirtieth of you know, December twenty twenty three,

2:52 and you're saying, you know, just a day to go with this new

2:53 year, with this year, and you're saying, John, I step in,

2:58 stepped into the year with a lot of with a lot of hope.

3:00 But here and I am today, John. I didn't expect to be here

3:04 at this point. I thought this would have happened. I thought that would

3:07 have happened, but things didn't work out. But today, you know you

3:09 can. You can either look at all those negative things and be bitter,

3:13 or you can start counting your blessings and be better. You know, that's

3:16 my challenge to each one of you, another sound of my voice, that

3:20 you know that you will quit being in the place of bitterness like you know.

3:24 Yes, even I do have things that I wish God would have answered

3:29 in this year. But can I tell you something. I'm grateful that God

3:30 has led me and he's not given up on me. And I know that

3:35 I'm not giving I'm not giving up on God. I believe that, you

3:38 know, he is faithful to his word, he is faithful to his promises,

3:40 and I believe that this at disappointed time, when he wants to do

3:45 what he wants to do in my life, He's going to make it happen.

3:47 You know, not in my timeline, but in this timeline. Then

3:50 you know that that should be your attitude today. It's even as you sip

3:53 into this final pinnacle of this twenty twenty three, I just pray that you,

4:00 you know, get to that place of gratitude. You know, there

4:01 are so many reasons why you can be grateful today. You can be grateful

4:04 because you have roof over your head. You can be grateful because you have

4:09 the cognitive ability to listen to what I'm saying and understand it. You can

4:13 be grateful because you have the gift of listening. That's how you're able to

4:16 listen to what I'm saying. Or you have the gift of you know,

4:19 eyesight, and that's how you're able to use the gadget through which you're listening

4:24 to what I'm saying. You know, there's so many reasons why you can

4:26 be grateful today. You know the fact that you have loved ones around you,

4:30 the fact that you have a job. You know, yes it may

4:32 not be the perfect job, but you have a job. It may not

4:35 be the perfect people around you, but you do have somebody you know.

4:40 Can you get to that place where today you can be grateful no matter what

4:45 and say today, God, help me make this my lifestyle that I'm going

4:48 to operate from a place where I'm going to have the attitude of gratitude.

4:54 It may not be perfect, it may not be the best, but I'm

4:57 going to still choose to trust you no matter what. I'm still going to

5:00 choose to look up to you, and I'm going to have that hattitude of

5:04 gratitude. Because when you have the attitude of gratitude, that's what God.

5:09 You know, shows God that you still trust him. That shows God that

5:12 you still believe that he can do the impossible. And that is that faith

5:16 in itself is going to pay the way for the miracle that you're hoping for
