0:53 the things that is pretty common among people is, you know, yes,

0:58 you should actually have the sential fear of the Lord, right, not the

1:02 terrified fear of God, you know, the fear to approach God, the

1:07 fear to you know, like see like oh my gosh, God's going to

1:10 punish me. Not not that kind of a fear. But we need to

1:12 have the reverential fear of the Lord right, and we need to live our

1:18 lives to please Him in accordance to his standards, in accordance to his principles,

1:23 in accordance to his word in it and accordance to his will. But

1:27 here's the thing I want to tell you, but a lot of people are

1:30 living in a place where they just want to live to please people. They

1:36 just want to make sure that then the good books of people. They just

1:38 want to make sure that they are in a place where everybody likes them,

1:42 people are respecting them, appreciating them, acknowledging them, and honoring them.

1:49 And that is what takes predominance for a lot of people over their walk with

1:55 the Lord. And I want to share a scripture with you, and I

1:57 want to take this forward. When you look at first Samuel chapter fifteen,

2:00 there's a moment where Saul isn't a very bad shape. He's made a lot

2:05 of poor choices. He's gone away from the things that God has orchestrated and

2:08 they ordered for him to do. He's gone away from the the right track

2:15 that God wanted him to go in. He is messed up his life and

2:19 he's put the whole kingdom in a very bad shape. And in such a

2:22 scenario, you see Samuel comes to him and says, you know what,

2:28 You've been rejected. God has rejected you. You're no longer going to be

2:31 the king, and he's he's pulling over Samuel and tears his robe, and

2:39 Samuel says, listen, the same way you did, what you just did,

2:44 your kingdom is going to be torn from you and given to somebody else.

2:49 And it actually goes on to talk about and says, somebody who does

2:52 not lie, who's who's who's who's in a better position than you, who's

2:58 better off than you to take up this role of being the king. And

3:01 I want to just highlight something with you from verse thirty and I'm reading to

3:07 you from the Nalty version. Then Saul pleaded again. He said, I

3:12 know I have sinned, but please at least honor me before the elders of

3:17 my people and before Israel by coming back with me so that I may worship

3:22 the Lord, your God. He says, I no, I have sinned,

3:25 but please at least honor me before the elders of my people and before

3:30 Israel by coming back with me. And if you look at the message version,

3:37 he's actually saying, just come with me, like to support me,

3:40 to show that you know, everything is fine. You know, have you

3:45 seen a lot of times you know, people just want that visible support.

3:47 You know, if you look at the message version. He says, I

3:51 have sinned, but don't abandon me. Support me with your presence before the

3:54 leaders and the people come alongside me as I go to worship God. So

3:59 he just wants to put a picture that everything was fine on the outside.

4:03 Those things were bad, and he accepts that things are bad. He says,

4:08 I, yes, I have sinned, But he still wants to get

4:11 to a place where instead of saying, okay, let me get my thing,

4:14 my walk with the Lord right, or let me talk to the lawd

4:18 let me cry up to the Lord. Instead of crying to the Lord,

4:21 he still speaks to Samuel, and he's saying, do something, Samuel,

4:26 Samuel, Samuel, and he's still looking up to Samuel instead of looking up

4:30 to the Lord. You see, when when David committed sin, he looked

4:33 to the Lord. You know when as Zakaya was in a club desperado,

4:38 he prayed to the Lord. He didn't speak to the prophet, right,

4:42 he didn't speak to Zakayah, sorry, Zakaiah did not speak to Prophet Isaiah.

4:47 He spoke to the Lord. When when Nathan came to David, David

4:51 cried to the Lord. See, but you see here Samuel is giving the

4:56 word to Saul. Saul is not talking to God. He's coming, and

5:01 all he wants is not his relationship with God. He's not caring about all

5:06 of that being right. All he cares about is, you know, Samuel,

5:11 please commit me. I just want to put a nice picture in front

5:14 of people that everything is fine. How many people today are living a life

5:18 where even though they know that things are not in a good place, even

5:23 though they know that there's a lot of work that needs to be done,

5:26 even though they know that, you know what, there's a work that God

5:29 has to do in them. Or they need to recommit their life to God.

5:31 Maybe they need to overcome something in their life. Maybe they need to

5:34 let go of something in their life. Maybe there's some the area that they

5:38 need to deal with. Maybe you're such a person today, but you are

5:42 putting a picture in front of people where all you who are caring about is

5:45 what will other people think of you? And you're saying, you know what,

5:47 I just need to continue to have the respect from people. I need

5:53 to make sure that you know the prophet honors me, or you know,

5:56 everybody you know looks up to me, and you know things that I'm really

6:00 in the Lord, or I'm a really good person, or you know,

6:04 a lot of people today they don't care about the mess that they are in

6:10 with. All they care about is to put a picture that everything is fine

6:13 on the outside. You know, the other day, Pastor, we're sharing

6:17 this quote and I'm just reminded it. It just goes in line with what

6:20 I'm just sharing. He said. You know, some people's house will be

6:26 burning, but they would be working out in suits because they just want to

6:30 act like everything is fine. They want to say, you know what,

6:33 I'm living my best life now. You know what, I'm living my dream

6:38 life. Now, I'm living the dream, you know, and all of

6:41 these things. But the truth is, guys, I'm not asking you to

6:46 go and trumpet to the whole world or put a banner out there and you

6:48 know, market to the whole world. All your challenges, all the issues

6:54 that you're going through or dealing with. All I'm saying is be open with

6:57 God. All I'm saying is talk with hard about your issues. First,

7:01 prioritize that your walk with God is in a better place before you try to

7:05 act like everything is fine on the outside. Because a lot of people don't

7:10 care about their walk with God. You look at Solve, that's exactly what

7:13 he did. He never even bordered to get back in his walk with God,

7:17 to get back on track. All he cared about is that his reputation

7:23 and image should be fine in front of people. And that's exactly what you

7:27 see from this verse. In First Samuel, Separate fifteen was thirty and today

7:30 I pray that you and I will not be in that place where all we

7:33 care about is what other people will think of us. But we will get

7:36 to that place where we say, God, you are my priority, and

7:41 I want to make sure that my walk with you is in the right place,

7:45 and let everything flow out from that place. God, I pray in

7:49 the name of Jesus that this world will go forth, and this world will

7:53 encourage, bless edify and draw those who need to be drawn closer to you.

8:01 help us not to be so focused and what it about a image in front

8:05 of people, a reputation and to put a nice image in front of others,

8:09 a picture in front of others. But let us make sure that you
