The Testimony of Albert P.J. (Abhayam NGO): From childhood rejection and substance abuse to sleeping on the streets with nothing but a newspaper to cover him, Albert hit rock bottom. The Prodigal Son (Luke 15): When the son was stranded feeding pigs with no food or hope, verse 17 tells us "he came to his senses" and made the decisive choice to return to his father. He didn't wallow in self-pity; he took a radical step toward restoration.

Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta.
Speaker 2: Hello everyone, welcome to this edition of the John Gifta podcast.
Speaker 3: All through this week, we are looking at various lessons we can take away from my debut book, Unveil Your Purpose, as we celebrate the sixth anniversary of the book. And this is the week where the ministry also turns 14. I'm so grateful to God. I really challenge you to check out the book so that it'll bring in so many practical ways for you to understand how to step into the calling and the purpose that God has in store for you as well. So today, one of the things I want to talk about is. how we've been focusing on various aspects all through this week about how your life could be in a very bad place maybe because of your own actions maybe because of life happening whatever it is but i want to tell you something that god still has a plan for you god still has a purpose for your life it could be because of life just being unfair to you in so many ways maybe a A series of rejections and unfair childhood and trauma from the past that could have led you into the wrong path.
Speaker 3: But God still has something amazing. So I want to start off by sharing the story of someone I know personally. And probably at some point I might have an interview with him as well. His name is none other than Albert P.J.
Speaker 2: Uncle. Okay.
Speaker 3: So he's based out of Bangalore in India. And what I want to talk about his, I've even featured this story on the book, but I want to talk about how he started off in his life as a young boy. He went through a series of rejections and setbacks, which led him in the pathway to drugs. And long story made short, he went into this cool gang, you know, cigars and drugs and trying out.
Speaker 2: Different things, ended up in more trouble.
Speaker 3: Ended up in stealing and landing in more trouble and all of these things as a young boy to a point where at one point his dad kicked him out of his home.
Speaker 2: And what happened?
Speaker 3: He found himself in the streets with nothing but a newspaper to cover himself. And when he was in that place of despair... When all hope was gone, it felt like his life was in a miserable state physically, emotionally, mentally. Because of the effect of the drugs, because of the effect of his choices, he was in.
Speaker 2: A very desperate place. He cried out to the Lord.
Speaker 3: And from that place, the Lord began to restore him. He took a radical step to say no to drugs. A radical step to change his life around. And I'm telling you something, from that place, the Lord turned his life around. And he started an NGO based out of Bangalore. And it's helping out people across the globe in different avenues and capacities.
Speaker 2: It's known as Abayam.
Speaker 3: And what I wanted to know is that through that NGO, he has been a channel of blessing to rescue people who are caught up in addictions, in drugs or anything related to that, to help out the police and the investigation group in the area of drugs, as well as helping out in the rehabilitation process for those who have been into different kinds of addictions. So I want you to think about this. he was in a very desperate and a despicable place. He was in a place where there seemed to have no hope whatsoever.
Speaker 3: It felt very bad and there seemed to be no way out for him. Now, the minute I saw about how he said that he was on the streets with nothing but the newspaper, I was immediately reminded of the prodigal son in Luke 15. When he was feeding the pigs, And he realized there's nothing else for me. I am not even getting food for myself. That is how his life was. Today, maybe your life is not as bad as his life was. Maybe you have your own struggles. Maybe areas of unanswered prayers or maybe consequence of your mistakes.
Speaker 3: Or maybe you're watching or listening to this from a prison cell. God knows where you're watching from. Maybe from a hospital bed because of the consequence of your mistakes or whatever. or just life happening and you're in a very bad place. But I want to challenge you that God can still turn your life around.
Speaker 2: God can still make a way.
Speaker 3: All that he did was he came to his senses and said, God, I need you to help me. And he was allowing the Lord to restore him. And he took that radical step. What did the prodigal son do? He didn't just sit in self-pity. He took a radical step. The scripture says in verse number 17, he came to his senses and he decided to go back to the father. Today, this is the word for some of you. Maybe you just need to come back to your senses. Maybe this is a word to get back to your senses.
Speaker 2: To say, you know what? I've been living an aimless life.
Speaker 3: I've been allowing these things to just deviate and distract me from my calling. I've been just living a life without a purpose. I've been living my life just for myself, not bothered about what God.
Speaker 2: Wanted me to do.
Speaker 3: Maybe this is a wake-up call for you to say, you know what? I'm coming back to my senses. I'm going to take a radical step. I messed up, maybe financially. I spoiled my childhood. I did things that I shouldn't have done. I experimented things that I should have had no access to. But whatever be it, the God who restored Albert P.J. Uncle, the God who restored the prodigal son is able to restore you.
Speaker 2: And he wants to do it. He will do it.
Speaker 3: Not only did he restore him, Today, thousands of years later, the prodigal son is being preached from and is being a channel of blessing to multitudes. The same way, his story has been a channel of blessing to thousands of people who are in the space of addictions and rehabilitation and drugs and not only a blessing in the sense of redeeming people but also protecting people.
Speaker 2: By being involved in those special forces. I want to tell you something.
Speaker 3: That God can restore your life like that. God can do something beautiful. And when he does it. It's going to exceed expectations. So I challenge you. Like the prodigal son came back to his senses. Like Albert uncle took the step to. Have a radical change in his life. Why don't you take that step.
Speaker 2: To take.
Speaker 3: The radical step of faith. A radical step to change. A radical step to make the manoeuvre in the new direction that God has in.
Speaker 2: Store for you.
Speaker 3: I really challenge you to leave a comment. And if you're checking this out on YouTube or Facebook, share this with someone.
Speaker 2: And let us strive. to be radical for Jesus.
Speaker 3: And I also want you to check out this book if you have not done so and it's going to be a great blessing and an asset.
