Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta.
Speaker 2: Hello everyone, Welcome to this edition of the Fuel for the Soul with John gift of podcast. And as you would have seen that, we're doing a series on how to practically walk in unconditional allow I really challenge you to go back and listen to these segments because there's so many things that you can learn and unpse sometimes it can we just revisiting them and to remind and make sure that you sync with the Holy Spirit to see there are areas in your life where you can incorporate these so that you can walk into kind of love that God wants has to live by.
Speaker 2: And today I'm going to talk about an important, important aspect about what the Bible says should be our lifestyle when we are walking in unconditional love with towards people. A couple of scriptures and then I want to take this forward. First there Salonians five, verse eleven, where it says, therefore, encourage one another and build each other up. Remember this, encourage one another and build each other up. When you look at Hebrews three, verse thirteen, it says encourage one another daily.
Speaker 2: Encourage one another, not once in a while, not when you feel like it, but daily. And the Bible also is saying in Hebrews ten that we need to be encouraging one another. When you look at verses twenty four to twenty five and so on. Here's the thing I want to talk about. The commonality of all these scriptures is that the Bible is telling us to be people who are encouraging one another and people who will build each other up. Because a lot of times the focus is always on what will I get from this?
Speaker 2: What is about me? It's all about me. But when you look at the scripture which says in first Corinthians Septer thirteen, verse five. It says that love is not self seeking because we live in a time and age when it's all about self gratification. What can I get? What will I benefit for out of this? But God is asking us to be people who will walk not from self seeking attitude, but from a place where we build each other up. We want to build other people, We want to encourage other people. One of my heartbeats is always to encourage one another, even if you see through the Bible.
Speaker 2: The Bible says in Romans chapter twelve, verse eight, that we are those who call to encourage be encouraged. And I believe that's one of my major gifts. I try to look for reasons or look for ways to encourage somebody. Even if somebody is into content creation, I encouraged him, I share their content, or I like and engage with those content like I really challenge you guys to have that attitude of being in a place where you want to encourage them through words, through encouragement, through you know, by actions.
Speaker 2: You know. I always tell this some I remember this moment where I went to this place where there was this conference and there were people who were selling some things. There and it wasn't very impressive, but I said, okay, let me get this. And a friend of mine was standing next to me and said, why are you getting this? He openly said this, He said it doesn't look that great, and I said, no, I just want to encourage them. And the person who was at the counter heard a tense smile and I could see that she was life filled with that joy like this is this is really really like wow, because no one else was buying.
Speaker 2: You know, I still remember, even as a kid, I remember this going to carnivals and I would look at people whose shops are not getting any traction, and I would say, I want to get this. I want to get that, like even if it's not something I want to get for getting it, but I just want to get it to encourage someone. You know, I really challenge you, like, you know, to be in a place where you look for ways to be a blessing to people. You want to cheer someone up, encourage someone. You see somebody who's in trouble.
Speaker 2: Don't just say oh, I hope all is well and just walk off. Be in a place where you're like, hey, you don't feel well, Like are you okay? Let me give you an encouraging word, encourage someone, go the extra mile. Like sometimes I think I've shared this even a couple of episodes back, I said that, you know, when the pastor preached, I just didn't just people could have implicately said that's his job, but I said, no, you know what, you appreciate it. Well today it was great. You don't do it in a sense of saying it for the sake of it.
Speaker 2: But you know, you need to learn and ask God to give you that you know, strategy to be the right kind of an encourageer. Like you know, some people do not know how to do it. They overdo all of that. It feels like a fake thing and all of that. No, you need to know how to be someone who's willing to go out and be that encourage here, encourage them, build people up. Like you see somebody is trying to do something, Go out and whatever way you can help you. You have a social media feed, you want to share somebody else's work, go out and share it nobody.
Speaker 2: I mean, you're not paying anything to do that. You're just helping someone. You're just building someone, help helse up. Can you be someone who will be willing to do that today. I challenge you instead of just living for yourself, instead of being self seeking, today ask God and be in a place where you are determined to encourage someone. Say God, help me to build somebody up, maybe through my words, through my works, through money, through encouragement, through support, through posting on social media for someone else, through something.
Speaker 2: Help me to be in raging towards somebody i'lp me to build them up. Or a lot of people are just in especially like if you look at somebody walking in a calling, maybe people who are going through tough times. You know, those are moments they really sometimes a simple word can help them, a simple act can bless them. Sometimes it would be something as simple as saying, hey, how are you or I'm praying for you. That can be life defining for them at that moment. I'm telling you, guys, you need to be someone who goes the extra mile and encouraging other people.
Speaker 2: Don't withhold encouragement, don't withhold kind words, don't withhold being generous, don't withhold giving up for people, because you need to be someone who's saying, you know what, it's not just me, We're building each other up. Because today you may not need encouragement as much as somebody else, but someday you may need encouragement. So I really challenge you to make it that commitment to encourage one another in whatever or capacity. See, even when you listen to a podcast like this, you can just listen and just leave, but I challenge you, like if you can come back through social media, come back through the contact form on my website, come back through WhatsApp or some way and say, Hey, John, this message blessed me, or encourage me, or this podcast has been a blessing to me.
Speaker 2: Or if you can leave a rating or a review. That's how you can practically encourage me in the work that I'm doing. And I really challenge you to do that. Why not for a place like I'm trying to self seek, But I'm trying to tell you to cultivate that quality of building each other up. And when you do that, that's the way we can build each other up and build the Kingdom of God together. Amen. God bless you.
