Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta.
Speaker 2: Hello doonyone, Welcome to this edition of the Fuel for the Soul with John gift Of podcast, where we've been doing a deep dive on how to practically walk in unconditional love. I really challenge you to check out other segments in this series because we've been diving into a lot of practical things to you can either inculcate in your life or you can pray that God will help you in certain areas with regard to certain relationships that you need to make amends so that you actually live in that place or live from a place of walking in unconditional love as well.
Speaker 2: So today I want to just talk about an important aspect to in line with what I shared yesterday. I really recommend you to go and check that out. But I want to just remind you that I spoke to you on the importance of encouraging one another because the Bible says in first Solonians five, verse eleven that we need to encourage one another and we need to build people up. We'll have to build each other up. There are other scriptures like Hebrews three, verse thirteen, which again says encourage one another the daily because it's not something you need to do one off, but it should be a constant, daily thing that we need to live by from a place where we keep saying, Lord, help me to be someone who's building somebody up, helping to be someone who's seeing the best in others.
Speaker 2: And you know, I really want to challenge you today that you know, one of the things is sometimes when we are speaking to people, we want to be like, you know what, I know, I have to encourage him, but they're doing something that's not the way he's supposed to be done. So we tend to become rude sometimes we tend to be very crude in the way we say. And I really challenge you to also remember Ephesians four, verse fifteen, would says, speak the truth in love, Speak the truth in love. I want to just start by giving you an example, right, Like I remember, there was a moment.
Speaker 2: It's just a fun instance that happened, but when we had this person in my ministry, there was a time he really helped a lot in the ministry, but there was a time when he couldn't help that much. But when it was his birthday, I posted on all the ministry feeds and socials you know that he's been such a blessing in the ministry and all of that. And then he reached out to me personally and he said, John, I am very grateful that you posted about me everywhere, but I feel very guilty because I do much this time.
Speaker 2: I said, in a fun way, Well, I wanted you to feel guilty so that you will do more this time. You know. I know it's a fun thing, but I just want to remind you, right, sometimes if you want to get the best out of people, you see that they're not going the way that they're supposed to. They're not doing the best. What you can do, Like you can just go out hating on them or saying the truth in a way like, oh, you are lazy, you are not doing enough, You're not good enough. What you're doing is not making a difference.
Speaker 2: You can do that, or you can be you know, you can speak the same thing in a kind way. You can say it in a better way. You can say it in a way that will make a difference, that will make them say, hey, you know what, I feel good, I feel happy. Let me do the right thing, you know, not guilt them into doing the right thing like I did in a fun way, which I was saying, but I'm saying, you know, instead of saying, oh this person, Oh you're lazy, you're not good for anything, You're this or that. Why can't you say like, hey, I really appreciate the work you do.
Speaker 2: But if you can just do it in a different way, you will be more impactful. If you can just put in a little bit more effort, you will be able to see a better result. Like can you be in a place where you ask God to help you polish your words? You want to speak the truth? Yes, you don't have to sugarcoat You're not trying to say something in a You're not saying like, Okay, you know what, I love you to continue in this lifestyle of sain. I'm not saying that. But what I'm saying is, yes, the truth needs to be mentioned.
Speaker 2: But can you ask God to help you say that in the right way, say that with a filter of love. The Bible says it very clearly, speaking the truth in love. That's something that we need to pray because a lot of Christians tend to have this coldheartedness. Oh I'm preaching the truth. You guys are going to hell? I mean, can I tell you? Yes? It is the truth. If you don't believe in Jesus Christ, you will not be able to make it to Heaven. That's truth. But coming out in that fashion is driving people away from the Lord.
Speaker 2: It's driving them into fear and paranoid instead of actually leading them towards the love of God. Because when the Bible says perfect love casts out or fear. When you lead them to through love. If you lead them through the love that is God, is love right through God to God, what happens. You know, they're not coming to God out of fear. They're actually coming to God because they love him when they understand His love. Today, my challenge is get to that place where, yes, you want to, you know, encourage your children, you want to encourage your spouse, You want to encourage somebody in your workplace.
Speaker 2: You want to you know, you want them to do better. Say it in a nice way. Say it in a way that will actually motivate them to go and do better instead of resenting or running away when they see you. Think about it, because sometimes people can be so nagging, so irritating that somebody just wants to run away from them when they see them. Don't let that be you. You need to speak the truth to them. How will you speak the truth to them? Only thrue love? And I challenge you to do that, and I believe that your life will never be the same for the better.
Speaker 2: Amen, God bless you.
