Walking in Love – Part 2: Called to Walk in Love (Ephesians 5:2) John Giftah | Christian Sermon
Tonight's Episode
In Part 2 of the Walking in Love series, we explore what it truly means to walk in love as a lifestyle, not just an occasional action. The Bible calls believers to walk in love continually (Ephesians 5:2). Love is not something we show only when we feel like it, when the mood is right, or when circumstances are favorable. Instead, it is meant to be a daily lifestyle that reflects the character of CHRIST.
Many people express love once in a while or show love to certain people selectively. But Scripture challenges us to go deeper — to live a life marked by consistent love in our homes, workplaces, churches, and relationships.
This episode will challenge and encourage you to move from occasionally showing love to consistently walking in love.

Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John GIFTA.
Speaker 2: Hello everyone, Welcome to this edition of the Fuel for the Soul with John gift podcast. And I'm so glad that you're here for this section where we are doing a series about walking in love. I challenge you to check out yesterday's episode where I the foundation of how the scripture says that you and I have to embrace the element of love because Jesus summed up the commandments and he said you need to love God and love one another. Love is the foundation, you know. I know we emphasize on a lot of other things, and there's a place for everything.
Speaker 2: But today, as we are doing the series on love, I really challenge you to stay plugged in because the next couple of days we're going to talk about the aspect of what it means to be in a place where we show love, walk in love, express love with one another, because I believe that this is such an instrumental commandment that has been given to us for the body of Christ. And today I want to talk about one important aspect that we need to look at regard to love, and it's found in Ephesians chapter five.
Speaker 2: Ers to it and it's a very simple phrase, but there's so much too un back from this, and it says you and I need to walk in love. The Bible says walk in love. Now, I want you to understand something here yesterday when I told you that love should be your foundation. You know, when you say you're doing ministry, are you doing it because of your love for God? Are you doing it just for your own pleasure, your own love for power? Or you just love the attitude of you know saying you know what, I am a very spiritually qualified person or something, or somebody who looks people look up to or things like that, like you can do things that are good, but you could do them not out of love.
Speaker 2: And I told you you need to always have love as your foundation. But today I want to talk about one aspect that a lot of times people say, yes, John, I understand everything should come from love. But yes, the thing what people do is they show love to certain people, okay, and they don't show loud to somebody else. But they said, you know what, I should love to this person. I should love you know. That's a great thing, that's a great quality. Or what did people do is they express love on a certain day, like you know, when you say Valentine's Day people express their love.
Speaker 2: Or on Mother's Day or Father's Day or on a birthday they express love. And the rest of the days they don't demonstrate love at all. And that's why you have to understand this verse. It doesn't say you and I need to show love. It doesn't say you and I need to express love. The Bible says you and I need to walk in love. Understand this important principle, guys. Walk in love is not like you show love to one person and do not show loved to the other and say I showed loud to somebody. No when you are walking in love, you show love to everybody.
Speaker 2: And I know there is this place for boundaries to be cap that that's another totally different aspect. But but you need to always walk in that unconditional pure love. Yes, to think when I talk about expressing love, like people say, oh, you know what, I should love to this person, or I gave them a big gift on the birthday, and that's it. You know, I don't. I don't. I don't care about them for the next one year. That is not called ex that's not called walking in love. You express love. You you did it as an obligation, but that's not love.
Speaker 2: If if you go by the thing that the Bible is saying, you need to walk in that unconditional love at all times. It should be your lifestyle. You know, when you look at the different translations, I just want to remind you it says in one of the translations walk in the way of love. In another one, live a life filled with love another translation. You know, it's just most of the translations says say, you know, walk in love, walk in love, which is what we are constantly saying. But here's the thing.
Speaker 2: I when you look at the amplified version. Walk continually in love. That is, value one another, practice empathy and compassion, unselfioushly, selfishly seeking the best for others. See, it's not something you do once and leave. It's not something you do when you're comfortable and leave. It's not something you do only when you feel like it. It should be a lifestyle. The Vible says, walk in love continually. I want you to have this as the pillar of your life. In every decision you make, from the time you wake up in the morning to the time you go to bed, I want you to check if everything you do is it out of love?
Speaker 2: Are you walking as an emblem of Christ's love? Are you walking in love? Or are you just walking in an outside thing and then just showing love sometimes or expressing love sometimes? Today, let this be the foundation even as we proceed and learn or look at different aspects for the curtil walking in love and that is to come. I want this to become your cornerstone to say, you know what I'm called to walk in love? Lord? Today, if there are areas where anybody who's watching listening from anywhere in the world, if they are struggling to walk in love Let this be a reminder.
Speaker 2: Let this be a reminder if they're thinking, you know, oh, I showed love, I express love and that's enough. Let this be a reminder that they are not called to just do it when they feel like it, or when the mood is right, or when circumstances right. But walking in love should be the default in their life. And I pray and release this in the name of Jesus. I pray all right. I hope to see you guys in the next segment tomorrow. God bless you.
