Walking in Love – Part 3: True Love Is Demonstrated, Not Just Declared | John Giftah | Christian Sermon
Tonight's Episode
In Part 3 of the Walking in Love series, we explore a powerful truth: True love is not just spoken — it is demonstrated. The Bible reveals that GOD did not simply say He loves us. He showed it.
John 3:16 reminds us that GOD loved the world so much that He gave His Son.
Romans 5:8 tells us that GOD demonstrated His love for us while we were still sinners — CHRIST died for us.
Real love is not just about words, emotions, or intentions.
It is expressed through action, sacrifice, and commitment.
In this episode, you will be challenged to reflect:
Is your love only expressed through words — or is it demonstrated through your life?
This message will help you move from talking about love to living out love daily.

Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John GIFTA.
Speaker 2: Hello everyone, Welcome to this edition of the Fuel for the Soul with John gift of podcast. And I'm so glad that you're joining in as we're doing the series on how you and I can Walk in Love, because as we celebrate Valentine's Day coming up next week, a lot of emphasis on the aspect of how do you walk in love? It can be love with a partner or a spouse, or a family member or maybe a colleague or your siblings, or in your church, in your community, in your neighborhood, or in your workplace, or in your school, or your college, everywhere.
Speaker 2: You and I are not called to live as an island, but we're called to live in community, in fellowship. And the most important thing the Bible says is that about everything else, love should be the foundation. The greatest of these is love. We've been talking about various aspects, and today I'm going to talk about one important aspect we record to love, and that is that a lot of times I've seen this practically, and you might have seen this as well, where a lot of people, you know, find it so easy to say, you know what, I'm there for you, I love you, I care about you, I really mean the best for you.
Speaker 2: They seem to speak words that entice you to believe that they actually love you, that they really care for you, that they have affectionate towards you. But I want to remind you of something very very important here that true love is not just what you say. True love is what you do. Love is not something that can be just spoken. It has to be demonstrated. You know the popular verse John three sixteen, God so loved the world. It doesn't end by just saying that God loves you. The Bible doesn't say that God just loves you.
Speaker 2: It's not just God's saying, oh, Jesus saying hey, I love you, dude. The Bible says God so loved the world that he demonstrated that love by sending his only son, Jesus Christ, so that whoever believes in him shall not perish it. But I have it anal life. The Bible again says in the Book of Romans that God monstrated his love that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. He didn't just say I love you. He didn't just say I care for you. He didn't just say I'm you know, you're so dear to me. He didn't just say it.
Speaker 2: He demonstrated it. It was not just in his words, it was in his actions that we know that God truly loved us. My question to you today is when you say that you love people, When you say that you love some people or somebody or you're walking in love, my question is is it something that you just say or are you actually showing it with your words. I think I've shared this several times on the podcast or even on YouTube that since last year I had a lot of turbulence in my life. A lot of things went out of hand and a lot of a lot of things just went to a place where it went beyond my control.
Speaker 2: Okay, there was huge financial laws and a job loss, and uh, attacks on my health and some family members who are unwell, and there's there's so much of fun predictability and so many attacks after attacks and so many uh you know, like abusive words that I had to deal with and had a lot of discouragement and a lot of times the enemy attacked me, you know with suicidal depression. And I had a lot going on since uh with in fact, with the February we're finishing. It's it's been a year of turbulence for me when it all started.
Speaker 2: But here's the thing I wanted to understand. A lot of times people used to say like, you know what, I'm there for you. I'm you know, why do you worry? I'm there for you. I love you, or I care about you, or you know why you wanted I mean, there were preachers or pastors who were like, oh, you know, when you stap in the ministry, you know you can count on me or count on our ministry, or they were close friends who said, you know what, I will be with you I'm going to be your greatest cheerleader. But can I tell you something.
Speaker 2: When I went through those hard times, I realized that ninety nine point nine percent of the people who said that they're there for me, or they care for me, or they were you know, truly loving me or whatever, realized that it was all just words that came out of them out where nothing turned into works that would actually translate into actually helping me in my time of need. The people I least expected were the ones who were actually standing by me. It was not just words that helped me, because at that point I needed actual works of people standing by me, supporting and cheering and encouraging.
Speaker 2: And sometimes there were moments where, especially when my account went to zero and I had to rebuild from the scratch. At that point, just somebody saying, oh, I'm praying for you, or you don't worry, everything will be fine was not enough because I needed somebody to actually put action behind that action behind those words, to say, you know what, I'm helping you financially. I'm supporting you at this point because I understand the place you're in and you need support. You see, that is so important, and that made me realize that you know how many people who say that they truly love you actually don't care about you because when you hit a rock bottom, when you are in troubled waters, are they actually putting action behind their words or are they just giving you empty words saying, don't worry, everything will be fine.
Speaker 2: Oh, I'm just praying for you, and then they don't care to even check up if you're okay. You know that is what I want to really challenge each one of you today with to think about this. Are you just saying that you are working in love? Are you just saying some empty words or is it actually translating into action? Is your words translating into who works? Because God didn't just say he loves you, He showed that he loves you. My challenge to each one of you under the sound of my voice is that you won't just say that you love someone, or you won't just say that you care for people, that you actually show it by your action.
Speaker 2: And I believe dicrean Dickla that when you walk in that kind of allow I believe that you will actually be the one drawing people closer to the Lord. Emmen, God bless you.
