Being an Encourager | John Giftah | Inspiration Christian Sermon

quickly start off by shouting a scripture with you, and I want to take

this forward and it is phone in first to Salonians five was eleven bringing to

you from the amplified version, and this is what it says. Therefore,

encourage and comfort one another and build up one another, just as you are

doing. If you look at different translations of the same verse, it says

encourage one another, build up one another. These are common things seen in

many of the translations. Some of them say encourage and help each other,

encourage, comfort and edify each other. Build each other, strengthen one another.

So these are different words that are being used in the scripture. And

I want to just tell you something, guys. Yes, we live in

a time and age when everybody is all about you know, what can I

get? What can I get? And it's all about myself and me myself

and I where it's all about, you know, focusing on fulfilling their own

wishes and their own desires and their own ambitions and you know, part in

life and what they can receive from people, where very few people have their

heart to actually go out and be a blessing to other people. But today

I want to ask you this question. When was the last time you took

time to encourage somebody else? When was the last time you took down too,

took time to you know, build up somebody, or comfort somebody,

or you know, help somebody, and and and being a place where you're

strengthening somebody else. Yes, you would like for somebody else to do it

for you. But I want to ask you, are you going out of

the way to help somebody? Are you going out of the way to be

a blessing to other people? Are you building people up? I want to

ask you this question. If you look at the message version, it talks

about encouraging each other with your words because you see something very important. Guys,

in my heart, I'll tell you I'm speaking from my heart. Okay.

From the time I was young, my heart has always been to build

people up, encourage people. But for the most part, I've always seen

people you know, never respond or you know, do the same for me.

You know, most of the time I went through objections. I've went

through hurts, betrayals, I went through people not standing by me or encouraging

me or supporting me, or you know, I've went through moments when I

wish, you know, somebody would stand by, encourage and you know,

you know, give me the you know, the thing to keep going.

And you know, sometimes I will tell you honestly, there were moments when

there was nobody to stand by and and that is something that drove me to

the place where I'm like, you know what, when I see somebody else

doing something and you know, somebody else who's who needs encouragement, or even

if they don't need encouragement, I go out of the way to encourage.

That's my gift to encourage, you know, Like the Bible talks about in

the Book of Romans. You know, if you have the gifts of encouraging

and keep encouraging, that's my gift. But I encourage each one of you

to encourage each other, encourage other people. You know, see how you

can be a blessing to others. Don't just live for yourself, don't just

keep receiving. Get to that place where you make a commitment and say,

God, how can I cheer some body else up? You don't need to

do something big. Sometimes, you know, a simple word that you say,

a simple message that you send, can mean the world to somebody when

they're going through some tough times. You know. The other day when I

was, um, you know, going through a really uh you know,

you know, a dull moment, somebody just responded to one of my messages.

Uh and uh you know comment or I think, I think on social

media or something, and they said how this message blessed them and you know,

it brought them to tears, and how the message was apt for them.

The podcast message, you know, that was a moment. I mean

I was so down when I'm like, oh my gosh, you know what,

Yes, I'm putting out podcast episodes I'm putting our content on YouTube social

media, and you know what's happened. You know, doing so many things,

but you know, sometimes you know, a word like that when somebody

just responds, takes the time out and say, you know what, this

message was a blessing to me, or this is what really helped me,

you know, keep doing or you know something like that, what happens.

It really cheered me up. On that day when I was almost contemplating on

not sending an episode, I was like, oh my gosh, I'm so

down and discouraged. That one word of encouragement really gave me the boost that

I needed at that moment. You see, my gift is to encourage people.

My gift is to challenge people. My gift is to do what I'm

doing, but I also need encouragement. Everybody out there in the world requires

that. Guys, I want to tell you something, even today as listening

to this podcast, maybe you can make this commitment, like if you've been

blessed by the ministry. You know a lot of times, you know,

people send out personal messages like sometimes I'm grateful. Okay, fine, you

want to do that. You know how the message was a blessing all of

that, even that some people don't want to do, but at le some

people do that. But you know what putting out a comment, you know,

would be like helping you know what I mean, if it's on YouTube

or Instagram or social media, putting out a public comment, you know how

the message blessed, you know, or sharing that video or podcast episode or

something out or reaching out and sharing it, you know, that can mean

so much. You have no idea how much that can mean. I hope

you're getting what I'm saying. You know, I'm all in for like you

know, sending out a personal message. Okay, I know I'm I hope.

I'm not trying to deviate from my message, but I'm just trying to

help you understand you. You know, sometimes you know, you think that

oh I can't stand by, I can't create content, or I can't do

something. But sometimes you know, a simple message, you know, simple

comment can really bless somebody. You know, I want to tell you guys,

make that your commitment to stand by, to encourage someone to support,

to publically stand up for and say, you know what, this video was

a blessing. This this this message was a blessing. You know, sometimes

I know I as an because I'm a preacher. I sometimes you know,

when somebody preachers, I even if you know I was personally I didn't like

the message that match or the you know, it was not the oratory skills

were not at a space or something. Sometimes I just go and encourage,

saying, hey, great message, or you did a great job. You

know you know why, because I know how much that in that word of

compliment can encourage somebody, can really put a small on somebody's face. And

today, guys, I want you, guys to get to that place even

in your life, even in your workplace, even in your school, even

in your college. If you want to really build up relationships, build up

people, encourage him, look for opportunities to send out a message of appreciation.

Look for opportunities where you can, you know, publicly say you know,

hey, you know the praise somebody. You know, we all love

to do things secretly, but sometimes you know, even when you do that

publicly, it really really helps somebody. You have no clue how come how

much that that thing can be a blessing to someone. You get what I'm

saying. So today my challenge is let us be as believers come together with

one accord where we want to build God's kingdom. Do you want to you

know, shine the light in the darkness. We want to ultimately share the

gospel. Right now, I just want to say this because I was talking

about, you know, putting public comments on YouTube and all of that on

the video. You know, I'll tell you what. See when you say,

okay, why should I do that? You know, I just tell

the person that message was a blessing. But listen to this. When you

comment on that video, you know, the algorithm helps the video to reach

more people. When you take that time to subscribe or you know, all

of those things, it helps the content to reach more people. So through

that you're advancing the kingdom. You're building the kingdom. The gospel is reaching

new audiences. You can do what I'm saying. You're doing your part in

the advancement of the gospel. When you actually put a comment, and when

you don't comment YouTube things, Oh, this person doesn't like this video enough

that they don't want to actually comment on it, you know what I mean.

That's the that's the kind of a picture that's been imported. So what

I'm trying to tell you guys. Is that is specific to you know,

YouTube and content creators, but in your life it could be somebody in your

workplace. You know, maybe they they You see people in your workplace and

you want to build up relationships, go out look for opportunities to cheer them,

encourage them, or or even in your family or anywhere. And when

you when you take that time to be a blessing with your words to build

people up and cheer them up and encourage them and praise them in public.

I want to let you guys know that God will help you be a blessing

that through you, more people will be actually blessed, and there's going to

be an advancement towards the Kingdom of God, you know. Before I leave,
