0:44 Speaker 2: Everyone, Welcome to this edition of the Fuel for the Soul with John gift of podcast. And I just want to share something very bit important with you guys, because I believe there's a place for the kind of encouragement that I share and abiliit. These insights are so powerful they help us live the life that God has called us to live. But today, being the festival of color in India called Holy, I was reminded of the word holy that many times we forget when we talk about the aspect that we are called to live by in the Word of God.

1:13 Speaker 2: Because a lot of times we focus on Yes, God wants to bless you. God loves you, God cares for you, and we all of those things are true, and we need to understand that when we understand who God is, that he is a God of love, and we are called to walk in love, and we walk in the kind of way God was called us to live, accordingly, we will be able to live the victorious, the life that God has called us to live. But somewhere along the way, this particular word gets missed out, and I just wanted to share that today.

1:40 Speaker 2: First things First, I want to share the scriptures with you. It is found in Leviticus. It says, for the Lord your God is holy. Likewise you need to be holy. Leviticus nineteen, verse two talks about it. Leviticus eleven, verse forty four also says, for the Lord your God is holy, consecrate yourself and be holy, for I am holy. Even through the New Testament. You see in First Peter it says, for just as he called you a q who called you is holy, so you be holy in all you do, for it is written, be holy because I am holy.

2:19 Speaker 2: I want you to understand that there is this fundamental requirement for all of us as children of God to be holy. And the minute we think of holy, we have certain things in mind, like what does holiness means? We think holiness means I have to live by this model standard or I have to sin no more, or I have to like So what happens is this puts this unrealistic expectation on people that oh, you know what, I have this imp your thought, or I sinned, or I did this, or I did that, so you know I'm not worthy of God's goodness or mercy or anything like that.

2:55 Speaker 2: I want you to understand. See, I want you to not go into the wrong idea with regard to who holiness. What do I mean by that. I'm not saying go and sin. I'm not saying live in this lifestyle of sin. I'm not saying that. But what I'm saying is as humans, when we're living in this world, because we have the body, if we live in the body, which is the flesh, we have a tendency to sin. Yeah, because of the fallen nature of man, we other tendency to sin. Right, but stop beating yourself for it. Because I wanted to understand the word holy.

3:27 Speaker 2: If you see in Hebrew there are two words. One is kadosh and the other is kodaish. And here's the thing I wanted to understand. Right, one is an adjective and the other is a noun. Right, here's the thing. It fundamentally means to be set apart, consecrated, or separate for a specific divine purpose. See the word holiness means you have to be set apart, you have to stand out. See it's more to do with the posture. It's more to do with that posh of the heart or to live with that consciousness that you know what I'm set apart than to do with your performance of trying to achieve moral perfection.

4:10 Speaker 2: I want you to understand this because a lot of times we think, oh man I sin, so I beat myself, or oh God will never talk to me. God will never you know, entrust me with something in my life. No, you are called for a purpose. You are called to be set apart. And that is what holiness actually mean. See what I want you to understand. When you know that you have set apart for a purpose, for a divine calling, when you know that you're called to be different from the rest of the people, set apart, that you should not compromise, you should not give in to temptation.

4:42 Speaker 2: You're not supposed to dwell with the sinners and live in that sinful lifestyle. Then what happens. You start doing what God wants you to do. You start living the kind of life that God wants you to live today. That's the challenge I want to leave with each one of you under the sound of my voice, that instead of beating yourself you know, oh no, I'm not holy, I'm not holy. No, get to that place. You know what, I just depend on God because I have become holy by Him making me holy. Okay, I'm going to talk about that in another segment, but I wanted you to understand that you yourself are set apart by God and walk in that consciousness.

5:21 Speaker 2: When you know that you are set apart, that you have been divinely kept aside for a specific divine purpose and a calling, then what happens. You will not live like other people. You will not live for a lower standard. You will not live with that worldly mindset. You will not live with that giving you to temptation, giving into compromise, giving into shortcuts, giving into the sinful lifestyle. That the world lives by. So that is the thing that I want you to have in the core of your mind. You're called to be holy, but what does that mean.

5:56 Speaker 2: It means to walk in that consciousness that you are set apart and you are

6:04 Speaker 2: in that place where you're consecrated, and you are walking with that awareness that you're here for a specific divine purpose. So you will not give into things that will destroy that purpose over your life, like the way it happened with people like Samson. You get what I'm saying. So God bless you.
