0:53 Speaker 2: to talk to you today an important aspect with regard

0:56 Speaker 2: to discerning people's intentions. I want to quickly start by

1:02 Speaker 2: sharing with you from Galatians chapter four. I know the

1:06 Speaker 2: exact passage is talking about something slightly different, but I

1:09 Speaker 2: want you to understand the principle that I want to

1:11 Speaker 2: dive into and share with you today, and it is

1:14 Speaker 2: found in verse seventeen onwards. And I'm reading to you

1:17 Speaker 2: from the Nalty version. This is the Apostle Paul saying,

1:20 Speaker 2: those false teachers are so eager to win your favor,

1:24 Speaker 2: but their intentions are not so good. They're trying to

1:27 Speaker 2: shut you off from me so that you will pay

1:30 Speaker 2: attention only to them. And verse eighteen is so powerfully

1:33 Speaker 2: he says, if someone is so eager to do good

1:35 Speaker 2: things for you, that's all right, but let them do

1:38 Speaker 2: it all the time, not just when I'm with you. See,

1:42 Speaker 2: they look like they were good. They were trying to

1:44 Speaker 2: do some good when the apostle Paul was around. They

1:47 Speaker 2: were trying to, you know, win the people's favor, to

1:49 Speaker 2: try to make them like them, instead of trying to

1:54 Speaker 2: allow them to listen to what the Apostle Paul was

1:56 Speaker 2: trying to say or the Apostopaul was doing. And these

1:59 Speaker 2: people people were just you know, you know, it's kind

2:02 Speaker 2: of like I was reminded of how especially I don't

2:05 Speaker 2: know if it happens in every country in the world,

2:07 Speaker 2: but at least in some of the countries that I've

2:09 Speaker 2: been to or been in. What happens is the minute

2:12 Speaker 2: there is election time, right, there's so much of work happening.

2:17 Speaker 2: You know, the roads are being laid, all the issues

2:20 Speaker 2: are being resolved. There are a lot of campaigns where

2:23 Speaker 2: they you know, meet with the people, listen to their problems,

2:27 Speaker 2: and once the election is over, they forget them, you

2:30 Speaker 2: know what I mean, Like it's all about those election moments,

2:34 Speaker 2: just to win the election, where you know, all the

2:37 Speaker 2: work is done or all the good is done, and

2:39 Speaker 2: all the promises are made, and you know, people are

2:43 Speaker 2: so nice and all of these things. But the minute

2:46 Speaker 2: they win and the next you know, entire term, whether

2:50 Speaker 2: it's for four years and some nations or for five

2:52 Speaker 2: years in some nations, you know, the people are forgotten.

2:56 Speaker 1: You know.

2:56 Speaker 2: The Apostle Paul was saying a very similar scenario where

2:59 Speaker 2: he was saying, see, these people are trying to act

3:02 Speaker 2: nice to get your favor, but why aren't they doing

3:05 Speaker 2: the same when I'm not around? Why are they doing

3:07 Speaker 2: it only when I'm around, just so that you know,

3:09 Speaker 2: people will fall for them instead of falling or listening

3:12 Speaker 2: to what I've got to say, you know what I mean.

3:14 Speaker 2: It's it's a very similar scenario, and that's why the

3:17 Speaker 2: Apostle Polity saying discern, discern. You know, they're just trying

3:23 Speaker 2: to win your favor, but they don't have good intentions.

3:27 Speaker 2: If they really care about you, they would care about

3:29 Speaker 2: you even when I'm not around, you know, like like

3:32 Speaker 2: the case of these you know, there's the politicians I'm

3:35 Speaker 2: giving as an example. Okay, if they really want to

3:38 Speaker 2: do good to you, they would do good to you

3:39 Speaker 2: throughout their entire term, not just wait for the election

3:43 Speaker 2: time to win your favor, you know what i mean.

3:46 Speaker 2: So that's the place I want you to get to,

3:48 Speaker 2: where you try to discern people, if somebody is nice

3:51 Speaker 2: to you, if if people are you know, being good

3:54 Speaker 2: to you, and all of these things, don't be naive.

3:58 Speaker 2: I'm not saying be super critical of everybody. I'm not

4:01 Speaker 2: saying go to the other extreme, but I'm saying, don't

4:03 Speaker 2: be naive. Don't be so innocent that you are being

4:08 Speaker 2: used by people that they're just trying to win or

4:11 Speaker 2: you over for their own benefit. But they just want

4:14 Speaker 2: to roll over you, They just want to stamp over you.

4:17 Speaker 2: I'm challenging you, as a child of God, you got

4:20 Speaker 2: to be wise as serpents as much as you are

4:25 Speaker 2: as innocent as a dow be wise sometimes. You know,

4:31 Speaker 2: in ministry, I've seeing people try to play the fool,

4:35 Speaker 2: try to you know, like they just say, oh, yeah,

4:38 Speaker 2: I have this need, I have that need come and

4:39 Speaker 2: support and all of these things. And I've been fooled myself, right,

4:43 Speaker 2: there have been people who are taking advantage because I

4:46 Speaker 2: wanted to bless them with all good intention, and then

4:48 Speaker 2: I realized that they just cheated and they just walked off.

4:51 Speaker 2: And that's why, you know, you need to get to

4:54 Speaker 2: that place where you know you don't have to make

4:56 Speaker 2: everybody happy, you know, and sometimes in the process you

5:00 Speaker 2: have to be firm and saying, you know what, I'm

5:02 Speaker 2: not going to be naive. I'm not going to let

5:04 Speaker 2: people ride over me. I'm going to be clear. You

5:06 Speaker 2: know you don't have good intentions. I don't have to

5:09 Speaker 2: try to make you feel happy. I'm going to be

5:13 Speaker 2: cautious because I am. I'm accountable to God for the

5:16 Speaker 2: money that I have, for the for the time that

5:20 Speaker 2: I have, and I cannot waste it on people who

5:23 Speaker 2: don't who I know clearly don't have good intentions. So

5:27 Speaker 2: I want you to discern, guys, get to that place

5:30 Speaker 2: where you discern. Discern. In the name of Jesus, I

5:34 Speaker 2: speak discernment over every single person under the sound of

5:37 Speaker 2: my voice in Jesus Name, I pray Amen, God bless you.
