Feeding on GOD's Word: The Key to Spiritual Growth | John Giftah | Biblical Teaching
Tonight's Episode
Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Giftah. In this encouraging episode from the Word of GOD series, discover how consistently feeding on Scripture nourishes your spirit, strengthens your faith, and produces lasting spiritual fruit.John explores Jeremiah’s declaration, “Your words were found, and I ate them,” highlighting the vital difference between casually reading and truly feeding on God’s Word as daily spiritual nourishment. Drawing from Psalm 1, we also learn how meditating on Scripture roots us like trees planted by streams of water, blossoming in every season.
This episode offers practical, relatable insights on why spiritual growth depends on what we consume daily and how God’s Word sustains us through life’s challenges. Using the vivid illustration of cartoon characters always chewing their favorite food, John reminds us why continuous feeding on God’s Word is essential for transformation and fruitfulness.
If you want a stronger, deeper, and more fruitful spiritual life, this message will inspire you to feed faithfully on Scripture every day.

Speaker 1: International Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John.
Speaker 2: GIFTA sedition of the Fuel for the Soul with John
Speaker 2: Gift the podcast. Although this week we're looking at various
Speaker 2: aspects with regard to the Word of God, and one
Speaker 2: of the things I want you to understand is how
Speaker 2: the Word of God is what will sustain us. See,
Speaker 2: we're looking at a time when we're living in constant
Speaker 2: stress mode. There's life happening, there's constant pressure from society
Speaker 2: and you have to keep up your job or your
Speaker 2: career is in mistake, or you need to keep keeping
Speaker 2: up with what's happening on social media. You have so
Speaker 2: many things that are just it's like being on that
Speaker 2: hamster wheel of life. You know, it's so much a pressure,
Speaker 2: so many things that's just coming in coming out, and
Speaker 2: you're wondering, like, oh my gosh, how do I have
Speaker 2: the strength to go on? I feel like there's so
Speaker 2: much for me John, so many commitments, so many family challenges,
Speaker 2: there are so many misunderstandings, the issues of life, relationships,
Speaker 2: keeping up with the expectation at work, keeping up with
Speaker 2: the financial commitments, keeping up with I mean, at this rate,
Speaker 2: I've already buried my dreams and my God given calling
Speaker 2: over my life.
Speaker 3: Like, I just don't know what to do. But can
Speaker 3: I tell you something.
Speaker 2: I'm not saying that I know the answers to every
Speaker 2: problem that you face, but I know that God has
Speaker 2: a way for you.
Speaker 3: Right.
Speaker 2: God will not allow you to go through beyond what
Speaker 2: you can bear. And the thing I want you to
Speaker 2: understand is sometimes people don't realize this. I keep sharing
Speaker 2: certain aspects of my life because I want people to
Speaker 2: understand the weight of what I do.
Speaker 3: Right.
Speaker 2: I'm not saying this to put myself on a high pedestal,
Speaker 2: but I say this to say that if God is
Speaker 2: giving me the grace to do it. God will give
Speaker 2: you the grace to do it. That's what I would say.
Speaker 2: I always tell I hear from people saying, John, maybe
Speaker 2: it's easy for you. You don't understand I have a
Speaker 2: full time corporate job, And I say, well, I also
Speaker 2: have a full time corporate job, right, so I understand
Speaker 2: the stress that comes with it.
Speaker 3: I understand the expectations.
Speaker 2: I understand what happens in the you know, the lifestyle
Speaker 2: when you have a corporate job, or with regard to finance,
Speaker 2: the whole inflation and everything, like all the rates are increasing,
Speaker 2: the value of money is just something like, oh my gosh,
Speaker 2: it's not the same as it used to be. And
Speaker 2: you're like, oh my gosh, how do will I manage? Right, So,
Speaker 2: the financial pressure or or you're saying about, you know,
Speaker 2: managing the expectations at home and all of this, it's
Speaker 2: not easy working a full time comporage job. Often that
Speaker 2: people it's like me doing that and running the ministries,
Speaker 2: like literally doing two jobs. But I want you to
Speaker 2: understand how am I able to handle this? How is
Speaker 2: it that I'm able to go through? It's not because
Speaker 2: I am great, It's not because I figure everything out right,
Speaker 2: But I always go back to the scripture. It says
Speaker 2: in Jeremiah fifteen sixteen that the word of God sustains us.
Speaker 2: In fact, in one of the translations, he says that
Speaker 2: I ate your word. I not had most of us
Speaker 2: shade the word of Gord, like oh gosh, it's so boring,
Speaker 2: or it's it doesn't make sense, we are not reading
Speaker 2: the word properly, or all of this stuff.
Speaker 3: But he says, I ate ate.
Speaker 2: Jeremiah says, I ate your word because I'm sustained by word.
Speaker 2: I want you to understand that the way you see
Speaker 2: this pop culture reference of bugs funny always eating carrots.
Speaker 2: Have you seen that rabbits always eat carrots? Bugs funny
Speaker 2: always eating carrot? You see, you will be sustained by
Speaker 2: the word of God the same way the carrot is
Speaker 2: the thing sustaining a rabbit. The word of God is
Speaker 2: the thing that will sustain us. You may have like
Speaker 2: too many things on your plate. The Bible says in
Speaker 2: Deuteronomy thirty two twenty five, as your days are social strength,
Speaker 2: we see you need the strength, You need the grace
Speaker 2: for the days that you are facing.
Speaker 3: And how do you do that? God?
Speaker 2: Will give you the strength. And how do you get
Speaker 2: that strength through the word? It's through the world. See,
Speaker 2: even through the tough times, what do we do? We
Speaker 2: never neglect having a meal, neglect certain things that we
Speaker 2: are supposed to do. Nobody says like, oh, you know what,
Speaker 2: I have a lot to do today, let me avoid
Speaker 2: brushing my teeth. You wouldn't do that, right, you would
Speaker 2: do that the first thing you would do. You wake
Speaker 2: up because you're like, you know.
Speaker 3: What, I have a lot to do.
Speaker 2: If you would do that, how much more you and
Speaker 2: I need to know that the word of God is
Speaker 2: so important. You need to draw strength from the word.
Speaker 2: And I challenge you to understand that only from God's
Speaker 2: word you will get that strength. Only from God's word,
Speaker 2: you will get the direction you need. Only from God's
Speaker 2: word you will get the ability to have enough. Like
Speaker 2: how you see Popeye right? Another pop culture reference. You
Speaker 2: see Popeye? How does he handle the opposition or brutus?
Speaker 2: What does he do? He takes the spinach right? So
Speaker 2: the same way, our spinach is God's word. You know,
Speaker 2: the more we feed on the word, we are strengthen
Speaker 2: by the word. Our spinach is God's word. I wanted
Speaker 2: to if you're checking this out on YouTube or face
Speaker 2: for neocomments saying my spinach is God's Word and one
Speaker 2: more thing, right, like in anything you do, like how
Speaker 2: the Word of God is what sustains you? Is it
Speaker 2: shows up in like for example, how to put this right?
Speaker 2: Like this is how it is? Like how when you
Speaker 2: say certain things you feed on, right, you keep feeding
Speaker 2: on certain things, it starts giving you an output in
Speaker 2: a certain direction. Same way, when you start feeding on
Speaker 2: the Word, you will see the nutrients.
Speaker 3: That you know.
Speaker 2: Like if you feed on let me put it this way, right,
Speaker 2: Like if you feed on junk food, right, your body
Speaker 2: will start showcasing the fact that you've been eating a
Speaker 2: lot of junk food. Right, same way, if you are
Speaker 2: feeding on healthy, nutritious diet, what happens. It will be
Speaker 2: seen in your body. Same way when you feed on
Speaker 2: the Word, it will be seen in your life that
Speaker 2: you have been feeding on God's word. That is the
Speaker 2: evidence that the world will produce in and through your life.
Speaker 2: Because the Vible says in someone how you know those
Speaker 2: who meditate on the Word by day and by night,
Speaker 2: what happens to them? They will be like a tree
Speaker 2: planted by the stream and will bear fruit in a
Speaker 2: season they least will not be her So there are
Speaker 2: characteristics of that tree that will be seen when you
Speaker 2: meditate on the Word by day and by night.
Speaker 3: Amen.
Speaker 2: I'll talk more about how to meditate, how to read,
Speaker 2: how to handle the word and all of that in
Speaker 2: a different series. But I want you to understand the
Speaker 2: importance of these things because a lot of people do
Speaker 2: not realize what they carry. There's so much power they
Speaker 2: carry in the world that they carry. Amen, I challenge
Speaker 2: you to leave a comment if you're checking this out
Speaker 2: on YouTube or Facebook and chat this with someone who
Speaker 2: needs to hear this. Let's see you back next time, Corporation.
