Getting Clarity in Life (Part 3) Wrong Voices Block Clarity | John Giftah
Tonight's Episode
Sometimes the reason we lack clarity in life is not because GOD is silent — but because too many voices are loud. In Part 3 of the Getting Clarity in Life series, John Giftah unpacks a powerful principle from Genesis 13–14, where Scripture says that after Lot separated from Abraham, the LORD spoke to Abraham clearly. This episode explores how:- Certain voices, though well-meaning, can drown out GOD’s voice
- Being in the wrong crowd can delay clarity and direction
- Not everyone walking with you is meant to walk into your next season
- Separation does not always mean cutting people off, but reducing influence

Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta.
Speaker 2: Hello everyone, Welcome to this edition of the Fuel for the Soul with John gift of podcast. And if you've been checking out the last few episodes on the series, we've been talking about getting clarity in life, and I believe that it is such a neat topic, especially in the beginning of the year. A lot of people are seeking clarity. What decision should I make? Where should I go? What should I do? And you're in a place where you're saying, John, yes, you're saying that I should hear the voice of God, which is what I spoke about in the first segment of the series, and then yesterday I was talking to you about how God is not going to give you the full picture, and you need to get started with the word that He has given you, with the message He has given you, with the instructions He has given you.
Speaker 2: When you get started, when you get going, God will eventually speak to you. God will eventually start guiding you when he needs to give you more information. And today I want to talk about one more aspect where you may be saying, John, that sounds great. Yes, you're saying that God will bring clarity, God will speak to me. But I'm in a place where I feel that God has not given me any instruction to get started. I feel like, you know what, I'm not getting any clarity in my life at all. I feel so clouded.
Speaker 2: I feel like I'm in a very foggy situation. I do not know what decision to make, what step to take, and where to go, what to do. I'm really, really, really stuck in my life. Well, today, one of the things I want to talk about is the importance of you checking out the people of the card has asked you to leave, or the wrong people in your life. Now I wanted to say this very respectfully. I'm not saying let go of people, or you know, like cut off all ties with people. I'm not saying you should just walk out of every relationship or sometimes you need to you know, like I'm not saying in that sense, to be abrupt, to be you know, someone who hates on people, who's just suddenly disappearing from people.
Speaker 2: That's not what I mean. But listen to this carefully. You need to be cautious about the influence of certain people in your life. One of the scriptures I want to start by talking to you today is found in Genesis thirteen, verse fourteen, which says, after and departed, the Lord's spoke to Abraham. After Lot and departed, God spoke to Abraham. I wanted to pause and think about this. God did not speak to Abraham anytime soon while Lord was still there. But the scripture is very clear in giving us this information that have the Lot departed, the Lord spoke to Abraham.
Speaker 2: I don't know who needs to hear this word, but some of you need to come out of certain circles, certain communities, certain groups of people. You need to start distancing yourself from certain people, or maybe you need to stop allowing certain voices to dictate your life. You need to stop allowing certain people from influencing the decisions in your life. Today, I wanted to think about this. Maybe the reason why you're not able to hear God is because you're hearing other voices more loudly in comparisons to the voice of God.
Speaker 2: That's why maybe you need to get to that place where you're intentional in saying, let me, you know, maybe start distancing myself from this voice. Maybe this is not the right I mean, somebody may mean well, they may have good intentions, but maybe they are not someone who has the blueprint for your life as much as God has. I mean, they may have good intentions, they may mean well, but God is the one who's leading you, guiding you, and has the plan and purpose for your life. So sometimes even well meaning people may not understand what God intends to do in your life.
Speaker 2: And that is why it is so very important for each one of us to come to that place and say, maybe the reason I'm not hearing God, maybe the reason why God is still silent. Maybe the reason why I'm not getting to hear God's voice clearly is because there are other noises that are speaking very loudly into my life. And this is a wake up call for you to introspect the people in your life. There may be people that you need to start distancing yourself. There may be family members you can't just upproptly cut ties, but maybe you can allow them to influence the decisions of your life.
Speaker 2: Maybe there are certain groups of people that are you know, making you have other thought processes. You know, for instance, there were good people who meant well. There were circles that I was, you know, a part of, and all of that, and there were moments, you know, as long as I'm a part of the groups, everything seeing like yo, you know what what the ideas they're giving seem so nice. You know, this is so fun and so good. This is like you know, they used to even give me ideas on the minute, and all of these things till a moment came when the Lord cut i mean, made me get out of those circles.
Speaker 2: And I'm telling you, when I started distancing myself, I started realizing how many of those ideas, how many of those thought processes, were actually not in alignment with the will and word of God. See, sometimes we are part of certain groups, and we think just because this is what everybody thinks, this is what everybody believes in my circle, I think that is the right thing. You know. One of the words that the Lord was speaking to me yesterday was I was meditating on God's word about the One of the aspects is regarding the culture that we are living in.
Speaker 2: If you see, especially from an Indian perspective, in the corporate sector, when you're working, many of them have a very toxic environment where there's no workular balance that there is no you know, like in you know, like place for taking care of your health, or the balance with taking care of your commitments or working on your calling. You know, it's like work, work, work, from the minute you wake up till the minute you go to bed. It's all about that cycle that many people are living in. And a lot of times people say, you know, we're living in such a world.
Speaker 2: We need to accept it. This is how it is everywhere. But then the Lord is challenging me to think, just because everybody says this is the normal doesn't mean this is God's will. You have to understand that, right, you have to come to that place like just because everybody's like, you know, this is the social media world we're living in. Everything is measured by how many likes, views, shares, and comments and engagement that you're receiving. It's all about the followers, the subscribers, and all of that.
Speaker 2: Numbers numbers, numbers, numbers. But just because that's how the world system believes, doesn't mean that's how the word of God says. You get what I'm saying. So that's where you need to come back to that place, to come back to the place of peace, come back to the place of trust, come back to the place where you say, God, you know what.
Speaker 1: I want to.
Speaker 2: Really introspect this circle or this community, this group, these nice people, they have nice people. They may mean well, maybe family members, friends, whoever it is. But this decision or this choice, or this advice or this word of counsel, is it in alignment with your will? Is it in alignment with your word? Is it in alignment with your principles? Is it in alignment with what you have called me to do? If that is not the case, even if they are the closest ones, even if they are gone to so many great extents to actually help you in the past, I'm not saying ditch them.
Speaker 2: I'm not saying throw them away. I'm not saying don't honor them, be grateful for how they helped you in the past. But you need to draw in the line in the sand. And you know what, when it comes to the decision between me and my calling, between me and what God wants me to do, I'm going to make a choice and say, this group, or this counsel or this person you know, or this community is not helping me in the next level of my destiny. So I'm going to distance myself. I'm going to be cautious. I'm not going to allow this thought process to influence my life anymore.
Speaker 2: And so when you make that choice, and when you're intentional about it, that's when you will start drawing a little away from those groups. The influence will start withdrawing from you. And then eventually what happens, you will start hearing God more clearly, you know, Like, that's what I want to tell you. When when I started, you know, distancing myself or when I started disconnecting from that group, that they were really good people. But when I started doing that, I realized much of but I was believing what I was trained to believe what advice I was receiving.
Speaker 2: We're not in alignment with what God was saying. And I think sometimes you need to withdraw. I think this is even a world with recurt to relationships. I think so many times people just you know, like, oh, I can't live with this person. I need this no matter what, however that toxic it is. I always say this, take a little break and start distancing yourself. You will be able to see things more clearly. You will be able to see the red flags clearly. You will be able to see shortcomings clearly. I know nobody's perfect, but what I'm trying to say is, you know you will be able to see things in a different light.
Speaker 2: And I think that's something that you need to really work on today. And I really challenge each one of you and the sound of my voice, that you will ask a lot to show you areas in your life, people in your life that you need to disconnect from, the areas in your life where you need to start walking away, the communities or the group or the circle from whose influence you need to start with throwing a little better. Amen, I'll see you back in the next episode.
