1:08 Speaker 2: we just say just pray, you know, we think like okay,

1:10 Speaker 2: there's nothing serious about it. And most of the time

1:13 Speaker 2: what happens is that prayer ends up becoming more like

1:16 Speaker 2: a ritual prayer. It becomes more like, you know what,

1:18 Speaker 2: I need to do this. It's more like a like

1:21 Speaker 2: what is like a tradition or a culture that people

1:23 Speaker 2: just follow blindly. But I want you to understand a

1:26 Speaker 2: few scriptures with you, because the Bible says in Ephesian six,

1:29 Speaker 2: verse eighteen, as well as Jude one, verse twenty right,

1:31 Speaker 2: it says that we need to pray in the spirit.

1:35 Speaker 2: We need to pray in the spirit, and I'm going

1:38 Speaker 2: to talk to you on how you can do that

1:39 Speaker 2: as well. And also one more thing, if you see

1:42 Speaker 2: of Romans chapter eight Versus twenty six to twenty seven,

1:45 Speaker 2: also explains and says that you know, we do not

1:47 Speaker 2: know how to pray, and those are the moments the

1:50 Speaker 2: Holy Spirit prays through us. So I want you to

1:53 Speaker 2: understand something here that a lot of times we think

1:57 Speaker 2: about prayer as like, okay, you know what, this is

1:59 Speaker 2: the formal of how to pray in all Dear Lord Jesus,

2:02 Speaker 2: you know, help me with so and so problem. Thank

2:04 Speaker 2: you for this day we have the strategy or this

2:07 Speaker 2: formula that we've been following, and sometimes it becomes more

2:10 Speaker 2: like a ritual. We don't even think about it like

2:11 Speaker 2: we especially sometimes in the Christian homes, pray before your meal,

2:15 Speaker 2: pray before you go to bed. It's like something we

2:18 Speaker 2: just say without even realizing what we are saying. It's

2:20 Speaker 2: become like a ritual. But I wanted to understand there's

2:22 Speaker 2: an aspect where when the Bible says you need to pray,

2:25 Speaker 2: the Bible says you need to pray, praying in the spirit,

2:28 Speaker 2: pray in the Holy Spirit. And what does that mean.

2:31 Speaker 2: It means that you get to a place where even

2:33 Speaker 2: before you pray, you say Holy Spirit. You lead me

2:36 Speaker 2: in prayer, Holy Spirit, What do you want me to pray?

2:38 Speaker 2: How do you want me to pray? What is it

2:41 Speaker 2: that you want me to pray? And I want you

2:42 Speaker 2: to understand when you allow the Holy Spirit to pray

2:45 Speaker 2: through you, like the Bible talks about in the Book

2:47 Speaker 2: of Roman chapter eight, you start praying in accordance to

2:50 Speaker 2: the will of God. The Bible says that God hears

2:53 Speaker 2: us when we pray according to his will, And how

2:55 Speaker 2: do we pray in accordance to His will? One of

2:57 Speaker 2: the best ways to pray in accordance to His will

3:00 Speaker 2: is to pray in the spirit, because the Holy Spirit

3:04 Speaker 2: knows what is the will of the Father, and he

3:06 Speaker 2: will lead us and help us to pray in accordance

3:09 Speaker 2: to his will. So I wanted to think about this.

3:12 Speaker 2: Are you just praying mere prayers or are you actually

3:15 Speaker 2: praying in the spirit. This was a game changer for

3:18 Speaker 2: me many many years ago because I used to pray

3:21 Speaker 2: for four hours fire hours straight and I can just

3:23 Speaker 2: pre praying Lord about this situation, that situation, this thing,

3:27 Speaker 2: that thing, this person interced, pray all of these things.

3:30 Speaker 2: I could pray for hours together till one point I say,

3:33 Speaker 2: Holy Spirit, I do not know how to pray. Teach

3:35 Speaker 2: me how to pray, Lead me how to pray. What

3:37 Speaker 2: happened was the Holy Spirit would tell me pray for

3:39 Speaker 2: this person. I wouldn't know what they're going through, and

3:42 Speaker 2: that person would have been going through something exactly that moment.

3:45 Speaker 2: That is praying in the spirit, or the Lord will say,

3:49 Speaker 2: you know what, go to that praise. I would go

3:53 Speaker 2: to that place and somebody would be needing my help

3:55 Speaker 2: at that point of time. How is that possible? Praying

3:59 Speaker 2: in the Spirit. See I want you to understand when

4:02 Speaker 2: you move in the direction of being led by the

4:05 Speaker 2: Holy Spirit and allow him to pray through you, what

4:08 Speaker 2: happens is you will be effective in your prayer life.

4:12 Speaker 2: You will be able to pray for people effectively. You'll

4:14 Speaker 2: be able to pray with power. Your prayers will carry

4:19 Speaker 2: so much more authority when you are praying in accordance

4:23 Speaker 2: to the will of God. And how do you do

4:25 Speaker 2: that through the Holy Spirit. And one of the other

4:28 Speaker 2: ways to pray in the Spirit is to pray through tongues,

4:32 Speaker 2: you know as the body of Christ. When the scripture

4:34 Speaker 2: talks about this, this is a vast topic and I

4:36 Speaker 2: really challenge you to stay tuned because someday, very soon,

4:39 Speaker 2: I'm going to do a series or lessons that we

4:41 Speaker 2: can take away on how to pray in tongues or

4:44 Speaker 2: what is it to pray in tongues and all of

4:46 Speaker 2: these things about tongues, because it's a very confused topic

4:50 Speaker 2: in many denominations, but I want to talk about it.

4:52 Speaker 2: You have to understand that today you have this benefit

4:56 Speaker 2: where you can pray in the Spirit through tongues. You

4:58 Speaker 2: can pray in the Spirit by allowing him to take

5:00 Speaker 2: control of your mind, your actions, your thoughts, your emotions.

5:05 Speaker 2: I love the Holy Spirit. The more you allow him

5:08 Speaker 2: into those things is how you will be able to

5:12 Speaker 2: pray in accordance to how he wants you to pray.

5:15 Speaker 2: Now you may say, John, you know how is that

5:18 Speaker 2: in anything? Like I know how to pray? Right. See,

5:21 Speaker 2: let me give you an example. Right, certain times it's

5:25 Speaker 2: easy to pray in accordance to the will of God

5:28 Speaker 2: by our own like for example, for instance, right, if

5:31 Speaker 2: you're saying, Lord, I need a job. So imagine if

5:35 Speaker 2: by divine counsel you know that the first job is

5:38 Speaker 2: not your job, and God is going to bring that

5:41 Speaker 2: seventh job is going to be your job. You will say, Okay, Lord,

5:44 Speaker 2: I know it's hard, but give me the grace to

5:47 Speaker 2: say no, resist or not be able to get these doors. Well,

5:51 Speaker 2: let me believe that the right door is going to come.

5:53 Speaker 2: You will be able to pray in accordance to the will.

5:56 Speaker 2: But imagine a scenario where you have to pray for

5:58 Speaker 2: a loud one. See, like I said, God is not

6:01 Speaker 2: saying you're going to live forever, right, like the person

6:04 Speaker 2: is going to fulfill their purpose and fulfill dead calling

6:08 Speaker 2: and then they will be with the Lord. So imagine

6:10 Speaker 2: by divine counsel, the Lord says that time has come.

6:13 Speaker 2: Would it be easy for you to pray accordance to

6:15 Speaker 2: God's will? And say, yes, Lord, I love this person,

6:18 Speaker 2: but send them away because their time is done. No right,

6:21 Speaker 2: we won't be able to pray in accordance to God's

6:23 Speaker 2: will in such a time. That's why we need the

6:25 Speaker 2: Holy Spirit. That's when we need the Holy Spirit to

6:29 Speaker 2: pray through us through deep groanings, through cry, through prayer,

6:34 Speaker 2: through intercession. And I'm challenging you that's how you will

6:38 Speaker 2: be strengthened. When you start praying in the spirit. You

6:42 Speaker 2: will be strengthened even to pray something that doesn't feel good.

6:46 Speaker 2: You'll be able to pray in accordance to the will

6:49 Speaker 2: when you start praying in the spirit, saying not my will,

6:51 Speaker 2: but love will be done. So today I pray in

6:55 Speaker 2: the name of Jesus that your prayer life will be

6:57 Speaker 2: effective as you contry to live depend on the Holy

7:01 Speaker 2: Spirit in your prayer life, and I allow him to

7:04 Speaker 2: lead you in and through your prayer life. And I

7:07 Speaker 2: love as he leads you through your prayer life. What happens.

7:10 Speaker 2: You'll see He'll lead you to pray for the right

7:13 Speaker 2: people at the right time. He will lead you to

7:15 Speaker 2: be at the right place at the right time, the

7:16 Speaker 2: right counsel, the right word, the right thing, which is

7:20 Speaker 2: God's will for your situation. All of that He will

7:22 Speaker 2: lead you when you are faithfully allowing Him to lead you.

7:27 Speaker 2: So my challenge is that you would strive and make

7:31 Speaker 2: it a commitment to start praying in the spirit all
