0:44 Speaker 2: Hello everyone, Welcome to this edition of the Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta Podcast. Such a joy for me to join you guys, as we're doing a series where we can learn various aspects with regard to the Holy Spirit. Because as we are stepping into the week before Petecast Sunday, the Dave and the Holy Spirit was introduced to the body of Christ in an amazing way. Right if you see through the Book of Facts Suday. One of the things I wanted to understand is sometimes we just say just pray, you know, we think like okay, there's nothing serious about it.

1:12 Speaker 2: And most of the time what happens is that prayer ends up becoming more like a ritual prayer. It becomes more like, you know what, I need to do this. It's more like a like what is like a tradition or a culture that people just follow blindly. But I want you to understand a few scriptures with you, because the Bible says in Ephesian six, verse eighteen, as well as Jude one, verse twenty right, it says that we need to pray in the spirit. We need to pray in the spirit, and I'm going to talk to you on how you can do that as well.

1:40 Speaker 2: And also one more thing, if you see of Romans chapter eight Versus twenty six to twenty seven, also explains and says that you know, we do not know how to pray, and those are the moments the Holy Spirit prays through us. So I want you to understand something here that a lot of times we think about prayer as like, okay, you know what, this is the formal of how to pray in all Dear Lord Jesus, you know, help me with so and so problem. Thank you for this day we have the strategy or this formula that we've been following, and sometimes it becomes more like a ritual.

2:10 Speaker 2: We don't even think about it like we especially sometimes in the Christian homes, pray before your meal, pray before you go to bed. It's like something we just say without even realizing what we are saying. It's become like a ritual. But I wanted to understand there's an aspect where when the Bible says you need to pray, the Bible says you need to pray, praying in the spirit, pray in the Holy Spirit. And what does that mean. It means that you get to a place where even before you pray, you say Holy Spirit.

2:35 Speaker 2: You lead me in prayer, Holy Spirit, What do you want me to pray? How do you want me to pray? What is it that you want me to pray? And I want you to understand when you allow the Holy Spirit to pray through you, like the Bible talks about in the Book of Roman chapter eight, you start praying in accordance to the will of God. The Bible says that God hears us when we pray according to his will, And how do we pray in accordance to His will? One of the best ways to pray in accordance to His will is to pray in the spirit, because the Holy Spirit knows what is the will of the Father, and he will lead us and help us to pray in accordance to his will.

3:10 Speaker 2: So I wanted to think about this. Are you just praying mere prayers or are you actually praying in the spirit. This was a game changer for me many many years ago because I used to pray for four hours fire hours straight and I can just pre praying Lord about this situation, that situation, this thing, that thing, this person interced, pray all of these things. I could pray for hours together till one point I say, Holy Spirit, I do not know how to pray. Teach me how to pray, Lead me how to pray. What happened was the Holy Spirit would tell me pray for this person.

3:40 Speaker 2: I wouldn't know what they're going through, and that person would have been going through something exactly that moment. That is praying in the spirit, or the Lord will say, you know what, go to that praise. I would go to that place and somebody would be needing my help at that point of time. How is that possible? Praying in the Spirit. See I want you to understand when you move in the direction of being led by the Holy Spirit and allow him to pray through you, what happens is you will be effective in your prayer life.

4:12 Speaker 2: You will be able to pray for people effectively. You'll be able to pray with power. Your prayers will carry so much more authority when you are praying in accordance to the will of God. And how do you do that through the Holy Spirit. And one of the other ways to pray in the Spirit is to pray through tongues, you know as the body of Christ. When the scripture talks about this, this is a vast topic and I really challenge you to stay tuned because someday, very soon, I'm going to do a series or lessons that we can take away on how to pray in tongues or what is it to pray in tongues and all of these things about tongues, because it's a very confused topic in many denominations, but I want to talk about it.

4:52 Speaker 2: You have to understand that today you have this benefit where you can pray in the Spirit through tongues. You can pray in the Spirit by allowing him to take control of your mind, your actions, your thoughts, your emotions. I love the Holy Spirit. The more you allow him into those things is how you will be able to pray in accordance to how he wants you to pray. Now you may say, John, you know how is that in anything? Like I know how to pray? Right. See, let me give you an example. Right, certain times it's easy to pray in accordance to the will of God by our own like for example, for instance, right, if you're saying, Lord, I need a job.

5:34 Speaker 2: So imagine if by divine counsel you know that the first job is not your job, and God is going to bring that seventh job is going to be your job. You will say, Okay, Lord, I know it's hard, but give me the grace to say no, resist or not be able to get these doors. Well, let me believe that the right door is going to come. You will be able to pray in accordance to the will. But imagine a scenario where you have to pray for a loud one. See, like I said, God is not saying you're going to live forever, right, like the person is going to fulfill their purpose and fulfill dead calling and then they will be with the Lord.

6:10 Speaker 2: So imagine by divine counsel, the Lord says that time has come. Would it be easy for you to pray accordance to God's will? And say, yes, Lord, I love this person, but send them away because their time is done. No right, we won't be able to pray in accordance to God's will in such a time. That's why we need the Holy Spirit. That's when we need the Holy Spirit to pray through us through deep groanings, through cry, through prayer, through intercession. And I'm challenging you that's how you will be strengthened.

6:39 Speaker 2: When you start praying in the spirit. You will be strengthened even to pray something that doesn't feel good. You'll be able to pray in accordance to the will when you start praying in the spirit, saying not my will, but love will be done. So today I pray in the name of Jesus that your prayer life will be effective as you contry to live depend on the Holy Spirit in your prayer life, and I allow him to lead you in and through your prayer life. And I love as he leads you through your prayer life. What happens.

7:10 Speaker 2: You'll see He'll lead you to pray for the right people at the right time. He will lead you to be at the right place at the right time, the right counsel, the right word, the right thing, which is God's will for your situation. All of that He will lead you when you are faithfully allowing Him to lead you. So my challenge is that you would strive and make it a commitment to start praying in the spirit all the time.
