Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta.
Speaker 2: Hey, are you in a place in your life where you're looking at your life and feeling like, oh my goodness, why didn't God answer the prayer the way I was expecting him to? Why was God so mean? Or you're feeling like, oh my goodness, I was really hoping that God would show up. I was really praying. I was standing by faith. And it feels like God didn't show up in my life. It feels like I'm a laughing stock. It feels like, you know, everything just went off track and you're really worried. You're feeling confused.
Speaker 2: You feel like, you know, your time of standing in faith, praying, declaring the word of God. And you stood firm on your conviction. But now you look like a fool in the sight of the world. And you're wondering where was God or where is God? Well, if that describes you, I want you to hold on because in today's episode of the Fuel for the Soul with John Gifter podcast, I'm going to talk about something very, very important and powerful that I believe is so important if you're dealing with something like that.
Speaker 2: I'm going to start off with a scripture that Jesus was quoting. He said in John 13 verse 7, Jesus said unto him, now you don't understand or realize what I am doing. I'm paraphrasing from different versions, alright? Now you don't understand what I'm doing. Now you don't realize what I'm doing. But one day, you will understand. Someday, you will realize what I've been up to. Today, I want you to understand something here. Today, you may be looking at your life and feeling like life doesn't make sense.
Speaker 2: Why was God... not answering my prayer why was god silent why didn't god allow this thing to pass why didn't god show up the way i was expecting him to and you're crying maybe you're bitter with god you're mad at god you're feeling so frustrated with your life and you're saying john why is god so mean do you feel like that I remember season last year when I was in one of my lowest moments. I shared about this so many times, but I want to talk about a perspective that many of you may not know about on the podcast yet.
Speaker 2: That there was a moment when I suddenly lost a job that I really loved. I was in a place where I was like, God, this was one thing that I really enjoyed. After years of going through very bad moments in my career, after years of going through very toxic environments in previous organizations, this was a job I really loved. This was an organization that I cherished. Every time I would be like, oh my gosh, I can't believe I'm going to a office instead of being successful. in a place like, oh man, I have to go to office.
Speaker 2: I used to enjoy going to office. I enjoyed the work. I enjoyed the company. I enjoyed everything that I was, you know, connected to with the organization. And suddenly that one thing that I loved so much was taken away. And I was so mad. I was like, God, why are you so mean to me? Why did you allow this to happen? And on top of that, there was also a plan where I wanted to, um, go for a conference in, um, the U S and I even got everything ready, you know, to actually be there. Uh, there was a pastors and a conference along with a content creators conference.
Speaker 2: And this was really huge. I was looking forward to it. And, uh, And exactly when I was looking forward to it and I realized that the price of the tickets was very low at that point of time, I was like, this is a God movement. And I was looking forward to it and lost my job. And I was like, God, this is so mean. This is so mean, God. Why would you allow this? And I kept praying, God, you know what? I even take a step of faith. I registered for one of those conferences. I have to register. I said, you know what, God, I'm paying this $ 110 and I'm registering for it.
Speaker 2: I take the step of faith for it. All I'm saying is you give me a new job. You give me an offer letter. And the very same day, I'm willing to go and book my tickets and I will go. But you know what happened? I kept praying and believing. There were people saying, oh, you got to fast and pray, decree and declare by faith. Yes, God will give you the offer letter so you can go to the US for this conference. And, you know, it's along with some ministry and collaboration opportunities. This is your moment.
Speaker 1: Go.
Speaker 2: But can I tell you something? It did not happen. I was mad. I was like, God, why aren't you answering my prayers? Why aren't you showing up? Why isn't this working out? I was so, so frustrated. Maybe you're feeling frustrated. Why isn't God showing up? Why isn't God answering my prayers? Why isn't God doing this? I was also mad because I was like, see, other people, they just go for interviews and they easily get one offer, two offers, or sometimes they come with three offers and they're like, oh, I don't know which one to choose.
Speaker 2: And I'm like, God, all I want is one offer, God.
Speaker 1: Just one.
Speaker 2: But God was not giving me and I was so mad I didn't realize why I didn't understand why and
Speaker 2: so I was supposed to land in the US on a Saturday but it didn't happen because of not getting the of a letter or no uh it was so uncertain with regard to my finance i didn't know when i was going to get a job so i didn't know and so i was supposed to land on a saturday and i was so mad at god that day i was like god i was supposed to be in the u.s today and you just did not answer my prayers i was so mad and um sunday uh happens um and monday morning india time which is basically sunday evening Just to give you context, that was the exact week and time when the Charlie Kirk assassination had happened.
Speaker 2: So, Monday morning, our time, technically that's when the conference would start, one of the conferences, along with which I was supposed to, this was the main one, by the way, the one that I need to have the invitation letter and all of that. And that Sunday night, which is basically our Monday morning in India time, I get the email notification saying that because of all that's happening, the uncertainty and everything, the conference got cancelled. And when I saw that email, I was like, man, now I realize why God did not answer my prayer.
Speaker 2: If I had got an offer letter, if I had fought with God and someone booked the ticket saying, you know what, God, I'm going to go in, you know, complete fate or whatever. You know what would have happened? I would have landed in the US on that Saturday and got stranded because of the chaos that erupted around that time. And I would have not known what to do. It would have led to financial loss at a time when I was already not sure if I'm going to get a job. And it would have led to me getting stranded.
Speaker 2: All my hopes and plans would have crushed and gone crumbling down. But God had been faithful. Earlier, I didn't realize why God was not answering my prayer. But that day, I was filled with gratitude. I said, Lord, I threw up my hands. And I said, thank you with all my heart. Because you know why? I was feeling that God, you were mean in not giving me the soft letter. You were mean in not answering my prayer. You were mean in not showing up or... you know, honoring my faith. But then when the conference got canceled, when the chaos erupted, at that moment, I realized that God was not mean, but God was actually being protective of me.
Speaker 2: God had protected me. God had protected my finances. God had protected my image. Like imagine, you know, with all the plans and you go all the way and then you Say, oh, you know what? The conference got cancelled and I'm stranded. Like, I would have been a greater laughing stock at a time like, oh, at the time when you don't have a job. Like, so when I look back, I realize even in that no, God was good. Even when I didn't realize God was so faithful. Even when I felt that God was mean, God was actually so, so, so, so good to me.
Speaker 2: Today, I want to tell you something, guys. This may be a word to encourage you. Today you're looking at your life and feeling like God doesn't care about you. No, no, no, no. The reason God is not answering your prayers yet, the reason why God said no is not because he doesn't care about you it's because he cares for you it's not because he's mad at you but but rather because he is badly in love with you so today I want you to have this attitude and And have this perspective. And I believe that this would encourage you.
Speaker 2: That if God was faithful in my life. Through that no. Through that unanswered prayer. God is going to be faithful in your life. Through every unanswered prayer. And through every no in your life. In Jesus name. I really challenge you to leave a comment. And share this with someone. And I will see you back very soon. God bless you.
