Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John GIFTA. Hello everyone, It's wonderful to be back on this edition of the Fuel for the Soul with John gift podcast to just challenge you even as we're stepping into these holiday seasons and maybe you're in a nation where you don't have holidays, but I just wanted you to take this as a general message where I believe that you will have your own set of holidays, or you will take up some leaves and you know, maybe your weekends or whenever you can. I really want you to take this as a principle in your life.
You know, one of the things that just affects me a lot is when I see people who just lazing around all the time, you know, and just being complacent and just you know, when you ask them, how was your weekend? What did you do? Oh? I was just watching Netflix all day. I just finished you know, just many seasons or just many series. And what did you do? Oh? I was just sleeping the whole day. I was just playing on the video games, and you know, things like that. You know. See, I'm not asking you to be in a place where you're saying, you know what, don't have any fun.
I'm not saying don't watch anything. I'm not saying this, you know, get to a place where you're always like a robo. I'm not asking you to go to that extreme. But what I'm saying is, you know, you need to be vice. Because the scripture is very clear right in the Bible. If it says in collosions, for you know, when you start as verse five, this is what it says, be vice in the way you act towards outsiders, of course, but there's a point here that be vice in the way you act, and it goes on to say, make the most of your time, make the most of your time.
If you look at Ephesians five sixteen, again, this is what it says, make the most of your time because the days are evil. You need to understand that, you know what, the times that we're living in is not as easy as it can be. And we are all, you know, bombarded on every direction with deadlines. There's so many things to do, so many things to get done. Maybe you have commitments that you need to deal with, maybe there are things that you need to focus on. But here's the thing. I want you to understand that, you know, you need to be in a place where you don't just come to the end of your life, or come to the end of a week, or come to the end of a year, and then you just say what did I do the whole yeer and say, oh, I just watch Netflix.
I just ate and slept, I just hung out with friends all through the holidays. I just you know, watched this many movies. What have you done productively? See I say this very respectful later, right, even if it's movies. For example, if you love watching movies, I believe you watch good movies because what you watch is also something that you need to pay attention to. But That's not my focus here. But here's the thing. Even if you say you watch movies, can you bring something productive out of it?
Can you do something productive? What do I mean by that? I'm not saying, you know, like productive out of everything, That's not what I mean. But if you're saying that, you know, I watch a movie every day, can you come to a place where maybe you can make a log out of it, or video or some kind of creativity where you can release that energy that you have just consumed. You know what I mean. I hope you're getting what I'm saying right, Like, you know, I heard this story of somebody she was constantly watching some particular TV series and then she started making her own you know, videos and vlogs and blogs based on that, which ended up becoming a you know, part time you know, source of income for her, you know, which you know she could eventually use for building God's kingdom.
You see, That's what I'm trying to say. You know, making the most of every opportunity means. You know, even if I do watch something right, I do need as a human bring I do need some relaxation. So when I do watch something, you know, there's always this thing for me to learn something, maybe learn a dialogue, learn you know, how somebody communicates when I watched especially I like watching some Disney shows also, So one of the major reasons why I allowed watching Disney shows is because I love to see the way they speak, how they respond, and I like to use that in my everyday conversations.
And a lot of times people in my workplace say, you know, the way you speak is so different, you know what I mean, It's not like just normal, you know, like it had some kind of like an element of wowness to it, you know what I mean. That's what I'm saying today. Right, whatever you do, even if it's something that you say it's fun. You know, you love watching movies, but can you do something productive through that? Or you want to watch sometimes it's okay, But can you take some time to be productive in your life, even even through this holiday season or even in the coming days, even through weekends and holidays and whenever, you can make it a priority to take some time to do something productive.
Right, don't just don't just sit and watch watch, watch, watch, or don't just scrawl scrawl scrawl on social media all the time, but do something guys, do something productive because our times are so difficult and so evil. That's what if I would say is right, days are evil, So make the most of the time that's available for you. Right, God bless you. You've been listening to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta.
