0:44 Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John GIFTA. Hey, I just want to start off by shining a very familiar scripture with you, and I want to think this forward. It is found in Psalms thirty four was eight. This is what it says, both taste and see that the Lord is good. Both taste and see that the Lord is good. When you look at the different sensory mechanisms that we have in our body, the most common ones that we talk about the sense of seeing you can see from a distance, hearing you can hear from a distance, or smelling you can smell from a distance.

1:29 But when you look at feeling. You have to touch it. But this one aspect that is the sense of taste, which you can't just taste from a distance. You can't just put it in your lips and taste it. You have to feed on it to get the taste. The Bible does not say, oh, see that the Lord is good, or just smell and see that the Lord is good, or just you know, just the feeling see that the Lord is good. It's not just something that you see from a distance or just on the surface level. But you need to go deep.

2:05 It has to get on the inside of you for you to actually get the taste of it. Are you getting what I'm saying. That's why the Bible is very clear. Or taste and see that the Lord is good. A lot of people today, you know, vade me tell the lawd tell them, you know, trust in the Lord. You know God is good, God has a good plan for you, and all of those things. You know. The problem for them is they're like, you know what, I heard a lot of things about God, or you know, in a superficial wall like yes, I have read the Bible.

2:34 I know, yes, certain things, But then when you look at their actual life it's so shaky. Their faith life is so shaky. When they actually go into trouble, they don't have any strength, they don't have the faith, they don't have any ability to have any connection between who they are and the faith that they proposed to have. So when you look at that, there's a big question mark because they they're just smelling God from a distance. They're just seeing God from a distance, maybe in the lives of somebody else, maybe a testimony that inspired them, or maybe a message that they listened to, or maybe they just went through some content on social media, or maybe it could be even the fact that they're just taking itself as level like you know, you know, a sense of feeling.

3:21 You know, they just read the Bible for getting their daily checklist done, or maybe just prayed by closing their eyes but not really meant it. Are you getting what I'm saying? See today, I want to ask you to introspect when you consider your walk with the Lord. Is it something that you're teasted God? Is he really something? Is it something that has gone on the inside of you, really done an inside out work in you. I want you to think about it. I want you to introspect this because this is something so powerful.

3:52 Guys, this is so needed because today a lot of people are just getting to know about God from a distance. Today, I want you to get to know God for yourself. I know some of you may say, John, we're doing that. Maybe you're doing that well and good, but this is just a reminder. This is something I need to do. This on a very regular basis because a lot of people I know they're Christians, they're involved in the things of God, they attend church, but they're still not connected with God. They know about God, but there is still do not know God.

4:24 And today I want to encourage each one of you getting into that place where you taste God for yourself. You see, when I talk about some food, even if I keep it at a distance, you can tell me the smell of it. You can look at it and say, wow, it looks really good, or you can just keep your hand and say wow, it looks hard and spicy. I mean, I think it's really nice. But if I ask you for the taste of it, you need to personally take the initiative of putting it in your mouth and getting the taste. You know, I can't and nobody else can force you to do that.

5:00 Only you can do that. Only you can open him up, and only you can taste and see that the food is good in the same way. Nobody else can force you to like God. Nobody else can force you to get to know God. Only you can do that. Today, I pray every single person in this place we'll get to that place where they're committed to say yes, God, I want to teaste you more. I want to teaste you more. I want to experience and get to do the place where I'm munch and chew and you know, get every aspect of your awesome taste in my life.
