The Truth About GOD's Restoration That No One Tells You | John Giftah | Christian Sermon
Tonight's Episode
Is GOD restoring your life? | Understanding the Step-by-Step ProcessWe often read the story of Job and think his restoration happened in the blink of an eye—that God simply clicked a button and gave him "double for his trouble." But if we look at the practical reality, Job’s restoration took years of healing, rebuilding, and growth.
In this episode of the John Giftah Podcast - Fuel for the Soul, John Giftah breaks down why GOD often restores our lives in parts rather than all at once. Sharing his own vulnerable testimony from a "Job-like year" in 2025—marked by financial loss, a mass layoff, and health struggles—John illustrates how GOD builds our lives layer by layer, just like a firm foundation.
If you feel bitter or frustrated because your breakthrough hasn't happened overnight, this message will give you the perspective you need to trust GOD's pace.
Key Scripture: "After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before." — Job 42:10

Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta.
Speaker 2: Today, one of the aspects that I want to talk about is when we talk about the pace at which God leads us, the pace at which God wants to give us things is not necessarily like the click of a button. What I want you to understand is this, right? When, for example, when you think about the moment where God was restoring Israel, everything to job we think that oh you know what god gave him double for all the trouble because god said in job 42 was 10 after job had prayed for his friends the lord returned his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before so we look at this old job got everything double for every trouble bam right we expect it to happen in the blink of an eye But I want you to understand that God's rhythm or God's pace, I really challenge you to go back to the sermon I released.
Speaker 2: It's so powerful. I want you to go back and listen because I spoke about the pace at which God wants to lead you. But in a similar line, I want you to also understand that pace is one part, but God also works in your life in parts. He's not going to give you everything in one go. He's not going to give you everything in one go. you know, click of a button. I want you to understand that because a lot of people have this unrealistic expectation of how God is going to restore, how God is going to show up, how God is going to answer your prayers.
Speaker 2: It's not going to be like everything coming in and... in a click of a button. Okay. Why do I say that? When you look at verse number 13, it says that in the part of God's restoration plan for Job, it says that he had seven sons and three daughters. Now, this is one thing that really caught my attention about Job.
Speaker 1: All right.
Speaker 2: Seven sons and three daughters. Now, I want you to imagine, like, even if you feel like, god uh did some miracle and magic and he got his money back or his business running again in immediately his health improved immediately one thing would have not been possible practically to happen in the blink of an eye it wouldn't have happened that is to get till 10 children in one day it wouldn't have happened right Even if he had all twins or triplets for that case, it would still have taken him years to get the 10 children.
Speaker 2: I hope you're getting what I'm saying. It could have taken, even if there were one child per year, it would have still taken him around 10 years. Or if there were twins, it could have still taken minimum of 5 years. So I want you to think about this part. Or if there were triplets, it would have still taken him three years or more to get 10 children. I want you to understand this. So what is my point here? My point is very simple. You may be looking at this unrealistic expectation that God has to restore or God has to answer with everything in a big, fancy way immediately.
Speaker 2: No, that's not how God works usually. He gives you things in parts, right? Now, I've shared this a lot of times with you all that I had a very heavy year last year in 2025. There was a huge financial loss. And three months after that, I lost my job in a mass layoff. And two months later, my health took on a toll. A lot of emotional turmoil, attacks over my life. There were close ones who were critically ill. It was a very rough phase. A lot of closed doors. Ministry was just hitting, you know, like, The ceiling, there was nothing happening.
Speaker 2: Doors were not opening. It was a very rough year. Emotionally, I felt like an exact Job kind of year. Because Job also faced the same thing. He lost... his business quote-unquote he lost all his cattle he lost his his kids he lost his health took on a toll he had uh his wife you know who's also screaming in the pain of what she was enduring she was showing it on him you know i've seen this in my own life like close ones they're not able to understand what god was doing in that season of my life and you know they were trying to show that on me and i had to deal with all of those things so can you imagine how it would have been But what did God do eventually?
Speaker 2: It's not that in the click of a button, God restored everything. I continued to be my best, trusted in the Lord. I know it was not easy. It was painful. But I continued to look up to the Lord, even though people misunderstood. People did not understand. Some people were against. People were saying all sorts of things. People were looking down on me. It felt like I was a cursed guy. Like how Job could have felt. But you know how God started restoring or how God started bringing things back in place in my life?
Speaker 2: It's not an instantaneous thing. It started with me getting a job. Then he started stabilizing my finance. Then I was able to find the studio through which I started recording the podcast daily from the studio. Then what happened? I started getting invitations to start traveling again and minister again. Then I was able to go back to my physical health, rhythm, fitness part where I swim every day. I was able to go back into swimming. And I see that pattern of God restoring step by step. God gives you things step by step.
Speaker 2: Not everything in one go. He didn't start with everything in one go. It took step by step. The job, after a few months of... financial stability and then the studio and then the travel. So God does things step by step. Today, I want you to understand when you read these incidents in the word, don't just read like a storybook. Oh, God restored everything for Job. Think about this. It could have started in a similar pace. Maybe he got a business client. Maybe his health started getting better once he started getting the funds to take care of his health.
Speaker 2: Or maybe he just got better as days got better or the Lord did a miracle and he got better. And by then he was able to take up, somebody could have donated cattle to him and he could have started his business again. Something like that. You never know how God would have practically done things, right? We don't read the practical part. We just read like a story. But I challenge you to think about the practical part. He could have probably got the business running again, got some financial stability.
Speaker 2: And then he would have been able to take care of his health and his health would have improved. His mental health would have gotten better. And then eventually, after years, he would have got back with getting 10 children. So think about this. Don't just read the stories like a storybook. Think about the practicality. Then you will realize restoration for Joe was not at the click of a button. It was step by step. Getting him a new business, getting his health improved and eventually over years he would have got the 10 children.
Speaker 2: Restoration was not at the click of a button for me. It will not be at the click of a button for you. God will answer the prayer little by little, step by step. The years that the enemy has stolen, the years that the locust has eaten, God will definitely restore. But the pace at which God restores is not at the click of a button. It's going to be step by step by step. The more you realize this... You will not feel bitter or angry... And say... Oh God is not restoring because I have not gotten the double...
Speaker 2: God is not restoring because I don't see the... How quickly it should be restored... No... This is how God convicted me... When I was telling God... God I thought you will give me double... And the Lord was like... I just got started man... I am going to do it step by step... And that's how the Lord spoke to me... Because... When you realize... that Job would have got it over a period of even 10 years, you realize, maybe God's going to restore in his own way, in his own pace. But when God does it, it's going to be proper.
Speaker 2: I'm reminded of when they're building a house or anything for that matter, in the construction site, they'll always take one layup, And make sure it's fine. Then put the next layer and so on and so forth, right? Otherwise, the whole building will crumble, right? That's what I... practically saw God do. He didn't show me the studio till I was stable in my work. He didn't show me the travel opportunities till I was stable in managing work and the studio recordings for the podcast. So you'll see that God knows which...
Speaker 2: phase or pace or step to take when to take so trust him he will do it all in a beautiful way i really challenge you to leave a comment if you're checking this out on youtube or facebook and share this with someone and i will see you back next time god bless.
