Walking in Love – Part 9: Love Is Patient With People’s Process | John Giftah | Christian Sermon
Tonight's Episode
In Part 9 of the Walking in Love series, we explore a powerful truth: Love is patient because people are still in process.Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that we are GOD’s workmanship — not finished products, but lives that GOD is still shaping. The Bible also reminds us in 1 Corinthians 13 that love is patient.
Sometimes we expect people to change quickly, grow faster, or respond the way we think they should. But real CHRIST-like love understands that spiritual growth is a journey.
This episode will help you:
• Extend grace to others
• Be patient with people’s growth journey
• Understand that GOD is still working in every life
If GOD is still working on us, we must learn to give others the same grace.

Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta.
Speaker 2: Hello everyone, Welcome to this edition of the Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta podcast. And as you would have seen by the titles, that we're doing a series on how you and I can walk in love. Practically, we've been talking about how whether it's relationships in your work, placing as your college, your home, your famili's communities, churches, everywhere, you and I need to walk in that unconditional love. And one of the things that we struggle the most is when we expect people to perform in the level that we are in.
Speaker 2: We expect them to transform immediately. We want them to change ways or make amends quickly into their lifestyle, their habits, and we want them to change immediately and say, oh my gosh, this person are given up on them. There's no way this person is ever going to change because I appreached enough to them. They're not listening to what I've got to say. And we try to get into this place where we are on this hustle and hustle and we are giving up on people, saying there's no way out and writing them off.
Speaker 2: But I want you to understand something very important here today. One of the characteristics of walking in unconditional love is found in first Good and Sens thirteen vers. Four, which says that love is patient. If you are not patient with people, you will end up becoming a patient, or you'll make other people push patient. What may mean by that is this right. We expect people to get into the same rhythm, the same face. But I want you to understand everybody is not in the same pace. Everybody has not going through what you're going through.
Speaker 2: Everybody has a different journey or a different struggle, or different background or different belief system built into them. There have something up and we cannot expect them to get into the same quickness as you expect. Because I wanted to remember the apostle Paul said, I am what I am by the grace of God in the Book of Corinthians. See, if not for God's grace, you could be in the same pit that somebody else is in. You could be in the same change that they are, in the same thought processes there, in the same faith there in.
Speaker 2: So if you expect them to suddenly change and make amends just because you ap preach to them or because you've been telling them something suddenly, I want you to understand that you need to be in that place where you need to ask God for that patience, that patience. See when you look at the building that's being constructed, it looks very messy, it looks unfinished, It looks very crude and rough and tough. The paintings or the walls look terrible, and it's the place would not look livable. But you will not write it off just because it looks terrible.
Speaker 2: You will not write it off or make fun of it, or market it or give up on it. Or you will not love at a building that's been constructed because it's terrible, or it looks messy, it looks unfinished. You will say, John, you know what, Why because I'm looking for the building to get completed so that it will look perfect, the painting, the interior design, and the liverability and everything is going to look awesome. Why Because you look for the end product. You don't give up because the process looks messy.
Speaker 2: And I wanted to understand something very important. The Bible says in efficiency to Westend. It says that you and I, all of us, we're all God's workman should workmanship means work in progress. We're not finished products yet, we are in progress. You need to understand that the people that you think that are messy and given up and they're going in the wrong direction in life. They're making for choices. You are looking at them and writing them off where they are right now, but you have no idea what God is doing in their life.
Speaker 2: They have maybe a work in progress. Maybe if you continue to show that love, Maybe if you continue to walk in the ways of the Lord and be the light in the darkness for them, Maybe if you just continue to pray for them and wait for God to work behind the scenes, they will turn around. I want you to think about this. The people that you think are messy, maybe God's going to bring out a message of hope through them one day. So I don't want you to give up on people. I want you to be patient. You know, one of the things in my ministry brought we have a WhatsApp broadcast group where if you are interested, you can connect with me.
Speaker 2: I can add you to it. We have not just groups, I have multiple groups and podcast broadcasts on WhatsApp. And one of the initiatives we used to do in the ministry is pray for celebrities. Pray for people in influential positions, leaders, pop stars and you know or authors are for that matter. Even here it is and every day one one person. You used to pray for them and used to think about it under Some people used to say, you're wasting time praying for these people because they're not going to change.
Speaker 2: They're going to live in this mess. They have money, they don't need God, They're not going to change. You're wasting time. But some of those very people that I used to pray for are now using their platforms to talk about Jesus. I want you to understand something guys today. They won't ever write somebody off because you never know when God is going to encounter them. God is working in them. Be patient with them, Be patient with him, because if God is patient with you, shouldn't you be patient with them.
Speaker 2: Understanding that they're in a progress. They're in a process. They may not quickly turn around like the way you expect. That's okay. Be patient today. If there's one thing that you need to pray for is ask God for more patience to help people as they are in that journey, because you never know how God is speaking to them. One seed, one element of love, one word from the Lord, something somewhere, so many encounters. I recently interviewed pastor John Burke. You can check that podcast episode or you can check it out on YouTube.
Speaker 2: And I recently interviewed him, and how I came to know about him was when he was interviewed on Sean Ryan's show. Sean Ryan was apparently an atheist, and the Lord encountered him. And now he's using that platform to talk about Jesus and tell others, other people like Megan Kelly and all of them about Jesus. And it's amazing because I was able to get connected with Pastor John Burke through them, Like, think about this Sean Rayan, someone written off an atheist, but God used them to connect me with person John Burke because of a mutual I wanted to think about this guy's You know, God can do wonders and God wants to do one us.
Speaker 2: Another example I want to leave with is sometimes we just write people out because of where they are in life right now. But I wanted to look at and ask God to show you how or where they're going to become what they're going to become in life. We may look at Peter and say, this guy is so rugged. Look at the Disciples of Jesus. They were all like so crude and rugged, and you know there's some like teams like Judas and all of these people. Jesus did not look at Peter for the mess he was making. He looked at him for what you could become, given into the hands of the Holy Spirit.
Speaker 2: And that's what I challenge you to be. Go to that place where you ask God to show you people for who God made them to be, for what they could pick out. And I'm going to close with this example. In my life, I did this collaboration. You can check it out on YouTube with Senchetta Michael and right now, I think we both have similar kind of followers, like around nineteen k plus almost twenty k followers on Instagram. But I connected with her Mini Mini maybe years back, four years back or something when she had less than one k followers and I but of course we couldn't connect because of some reason.
Speaker 2: But yes, the thing she told me when we connected, she said, John, at a time when most people wrote me off, they didn't see the value in me, you found the value in me. How come? And I want to tell you what I'm telling you, Like, that's one of the things that have been in my heart that God helped me to see the golden people even when nobody else is, even when they don't see it in themselves. And let us be people like that, not judging them or writing them off of where the mess they are in right now, for how crude they are right now, but be patient with them knowing that God has put gold in them, and look at them for where they're going to go.
Speaker 2: They're becoming masterpieces for His kingdom. Emmen, God bless you.
