What If Today Is the Day Your Miracle Begins? | John Giftah | Christian Sermon
Tonight's Episode
In John chapter 2, the Bible records the very first miracle performed by JESUS at the wedding in Cana. When the wine ran out, Mary approached JESUS and informed Him about the problem.
But this raises an interesting question.
Why did Mary go to JESUS in the first place?
At that moment, JESUS had not performed any recorded miracle yet. There was no prior evidence that He would turn water into wine. Yet Mary still approached Him with an expectation.
Was she simply informing Him of the problem โ or did she believe that something supernatural could happen?
In this episode of Fuel for the Soul with John Giftah, you will discover a powerful faith lesson from this moment.
Sometimes we reach a place in life where all our natural options are exhausted. We feel like nothing else can be done unless GOD intervenes.
But the message today is simple:
Just because GOD has not done something in your life before does not mean He cannot start today.
What if today is the day GOD begins to move in a new way?
Be encouraged to approach GOD with expectation, believing that He is still able to perform miracles in your life.

Speaker 1: Welcome to Fuel for the Soul with John GIFTA.
Speaker 2: Hey God, Mirischal, is such a joy for me to be with you today on this segment of the Field for the Soul with John Gift of podcast where I'm going to talk to you today on an important aspect to look at from the first miracle that Jesus ever performed in John chapter two when he turn water into wine at the wedding in Cana. Now, this is the same passage I spoke to you from yesterday where I told you an important lesson. I want you to go back and check because I believe that it's a very fundamental principle that you need to keep in mind before you ever take any initiative in your walk in this life, in any area of your life.
Speaker 2: And today I'm going to talk about one important aspect, which is the reason why I want to take this passage today. And it is worse eleven. It says this miracle is sign at Cana in Galilee was the very first time Jesus revealed his glory. Okay, now, this is the very first miracle Jesus ever performed. Right, Jesus has never performed a miracle before. Every other miracle adds something to look back and say, Jesus has done this miracle, so maybe he can do a miracle in this area. Maybe somebody is getting healed, they can say, oh, somebody else got healed, so maybe Jesus can heal this person.
Speaker 2: Or even if Jesus is going to perform the very second miracle, they can still say, yes, Jesus is done a miracle before, like he turned what it into wine, So there was always something to look back for every other miracle. But this was the very first time Jesus ever performed a miracle. There was no other miracle he performed as a human when you walked on earth prior to this. So the question I want to talk about is when you see that the water, sorry, the wine ran out. The Bible says Jesus's mother told him they have no more wine.
Speaker 2: When you look at us three. Now think about this for a minute, right now. Every other miracle had something to look back and say, Jesus, I know you can do miracles. You have done this miracle before. Can you do something about it? Every other miracle had something to go back to, but this one had nothing to go back to because Jesus has never performed a miracle before. But my question comes down to this that when the wine ran out, why or what made Mary to come and tell Jesus that the wine ran out.
Speaker 2: Was it just because she was curious or in the sense of like, you know, let's see what they're about to do. Or do you think it's just because she's trying to like, you know, have this sarcastic or like passing commons. You know, they didn't even plan this wedding properly, look at this wine the wine has run out, or maybe just upset about what happened, like, oh, you know, the wine ran out, But can you just trying to understand what was going through Mary's mind when she told Jesus, Like, do you think she was like expecting him to do a miracle or was it because he was just passing in information.
Speaker 2: You get what I'm saying. It's an important thing to think about why, because in your life you may be saying, John, I know God can do miracles. I know God can turn things around. He is part of the Red Sea. I know he is brought down the walls of Jericho. He has made Daniel be safe in alliance. Then he made the three Hebrew children to come out safe from the fire. I know all of these miracles in the scripture are true. I believe it. But in my life right now, I know God has taken care of me, has met me before in in the normal course of life.
Speaker 2: But I've never seen any wow miracle in my life. And what I need right now in my life is a wow miracle. Like maybe in some area you need the hand of God to do something. Maybe there is some area in your life you're saying, you know what, I've extinguished all my natural you know, possibilities or natural resources or natural you know, like things that I can do in the natural right like I distinguished all these possibilities, all these options, and I don't have anything else right now. Only a miracle from the hand of God can help me.
Speaker 2: And I'm not seeing God do such a miracle in my life before. You may be saying that. But yes, the thing, if you're saying like you've not seen God do a miracle like that before and you're expecting a first time wow miracle from God, this is a word for you. This is a word for you because I want you to understand. You have to think about this. What made Mary come and tell Jesus. Was she expecting Jesus to do a miracle or not? Now think about this. You may be saying right now, I was I extinguished all my possibilities and capabilities.
Speaker 2: You know, I've gone to every person who can help me. Right now, I need the miracle from God and I've not seen God do a miracle like this before. Can I tell you something, It's a possibility. When you look at Mary. Maybe Maye knew that Jesus was called for greatness because she already knew. She saw what happened when Jesus was born, She heard what was told of Jesus, you know, like through through all the accounts told by the wise men, the shepherds, or even when you know, when they brought Jesus to the temple to you know, be prayed over the prophet, and prophet is who came and prophesied over Jesus and told great things about what was going to happen.
Speaker 2: So maybe knew something was in store. Maybe just maybe she was working with that expectation each time, saying, maybe today's today he is going to do that miracle, or he's going to start doing miracles. Maybe today is going to be that day when he's going to you know, like walk in that new dimension that was prophesied over him, you know what I mean? Like, maybe Mary was constantly walking with that expectation and that's why she shared it to Jesus, hoping that maybe today he could start doing his miracles.
Speaker 2: I know, he's not done this for so many years. I know, he's been like an ordinary person for so long, just being a carpenter's son. But maybe just maybe today could be that day for him to start doing miracles. Maybe she was working with that expectation all along. Today, I challenge you, if you're in a miracle, desperate situation. You know, instead of saying like, oh, it has never happened before, it can never happen. I want you to have this attitude that maybe just today can be that miracle working day.
Speaker 2: Maybe today is going to be different for you. Maybe today God is going to show up differently. Maybe today it's going to be that wah moment that you never expected and it's going to happen in a way that's going to exceed your expectations. So I want you to always expect the unexpected and always walk with that attitude of expectation, you know, instead of thinking it's never going to happen, it's never going to happen, or you know, this is my lot in life. Why don't you always like even if you've been disappointed before, maybe maybe would have been disappointed that Jesus didn't any do any miracle before this.
Speaker 2: Maybe we don't know, but here's the point. Whatever, beit, this is a moment for Mary to still come back and say, here's the situation, let me see if you're going to do something about it. So today my challenge is walk with that kind of an expectation with your walk with the Lord always because you never know when God is going to do that kind of a miracle. Maybe it's not done like that before for you. You expected hope and all of that, but it does not happen. It's okay, Today's a new day. Always have that fresh aspect or a fresh perspective, a fresh level of expectation that maybe today God could do that in my life.
Speaker 2: Today, God would do it if it is his will, and at any time He could suddenly intervene and change the trajectory of my life. If you believe it. I want you to share this with someone and encourage him today. And men, God bless you.
