0:44 Speaker 2: Gift this edition of the Fuel for the Soul with John GIFTA podcast. I want you to remember that as we step into this month, you will see so many people redefining a lot of things. A lot of times people say, see how the world has evolved, See how progressive the society yes become. Things that used to be unacceptable are suddenly cherished and people are celebrating it. Things that our abomination to God's standards are such a thing that the Lord hates and detests are actually put on a high pedestal and said, you know what, look this person is so the confident in putting themselves out there in a way that they would never do maybe years ago.

1:25 Speaker 2: I want you to understand something very important here. As much as we love to celebrate certain things, Yes, this society has progressed in a lot of good ways, a lot of social evils have been dealt with, But sadly, a lot of people are going on the other path in terms of progression, in terms of evolution, and all of these in the way they think, to a point where things have gotten away from the standard that God has set. Say, I want you to understand the Scripture says in John seventeen seventeen that the word of God is absolute standard of truth.

2:01 Speaker 2: God's words should be our standard. As much as we love to trumpet the fact that the world has progressed and the world is accepting of so many things which are an abomination to God's standards, sometimes we have to be careful that just because the world celebrates something, it doesn't mean it's right. It doesn't mean that it is in accordance to the moral and ethical standards and the principles based on which God has designed for us to function. So today I want you to be careful because as much as you need to be in a position where you allow your mind to be evolved and the law to renew your mind to understand things from you know, having that negative mindset and areas where God has to develop you and all of that.

2:48 Speaker 2: There's a place for all of that, but you should also be careful that you don't deviate to a point where the Word of God is no longer the constitution of your life. I wanted to understand the same way. The constitution of a country is the skeleton or the backbone of a country. Every decision has to be made in accordings to that. For example, as a preacher, if you're in India, right, the Constitution says in article twenty five that you have the right to practice, profess and preach your faith. Right, So the Constitution is the backbone by which I'm doing what I'm doing.

3:26 Speaker 2: The same constitution prevents me like certain articles are keeping me away from taking the life of somebody else. I think, like article twenty one. So think about this for a minute. Right, it's the same way. The Constitution is the anchor. The constitution is the backbone, the skeleton for a nation. The Word of God should be the backbone and the skeleton for our life. Because as much as we trumpet things we celebrate. We will not celebrate if someone breaks a constitution law right. We won't celebrate when a ruler uses the constitution against the people.

4:06 Speaker 2: We don't celebrate that same way. When the Word of God is a standard, we should not celebrate anything that does not align with the Word of God, that's not aligned with the standard that is mentioned, does not align with the principles that are meant to be kept in the way they're supposed to be. Say, I want you to think about this in your life. Sometimes you may say, John, this is a generic stace sermon. It doesn't really make any difference for me. I love the Lord and I'm doing things Yes, maybe true, and I'm grateful to God for you.

4:39 Speaker 2: But I want you to think about areas in your life where you're making decisions that you think are in the Word of God, or they're based out of the Word of God, But are they actually based out of the Word of God. Maybe you could be just compelled or pressured or manipulated just by culture or edition or by family. There are a lot of people who fall into all of that. So you need to really re evaluate the decisions you make, the choices you make, are they lining up with the standard of the Word. Are they lining up with what God has intended in this word?

5:16 Speaker 2: Because people can twist the scripture. People can say one thing, t carry pick the word that they want and throw off something that they don't want. You have to be very careful that the Scripture says in two Timothy three, sixteen and seventeen that all scripture is of the inspiration of God, not some not the things you like, not a few of them, not all scripture. So you have to be cautious that though the entirety of the Scripture is the backbone of your life, every decision you make, every move you take, every choice that you are making, it should honor the Lord and stick to the standard that is prescribed in the Word of God.

5:59 Speaker 2: So I want it think about this. And one more thing I want to say is sometimes we are not intentionally going into deception. We're not saying, oh, let me get deceived, let me go and you know, fall into this kind of a scam. No, no, we don't do that, right. We say, oh, I'm a child of God, I read the word, I pray, I go to church. I love the Lord with all my heart. All of that is true, But sometimes what happens is we live in a society. We live in a world which tries to feed in propaganda through the news, through shows and programs, so many things.

6:32 Speaker 2: I still remember a couple of years ago, I started watching this show on the I think Amazon Prime or something, and it was a very good show. There were so many things that I'm still thinking back and saying how this was instrumental in me learning about God in a certain way and also to have that heart to live the life of purpose and all of that. It was good in its own way. But after a while, this show started bringing in propaganda, started convincing me of certain things which were against God's word.

7:06 Speaker 2: But it convinced me or twisted my mind to think that, you know what, oh, I should change my mind about this topic. I shouldn't think of it this way. That is too narrow minded. And it started changing my outlook of a lot of things to a point where I really wanted to think that certain things which are an abomination to God's word, I thought, we're actually fine. And then the Lord had to stop me and pause and re evaluate my choices because you never know. You may be watching something innocently, but the enemy is using that to twist your mind, to change your perspective, to make you think something which is a sin as if it's not a sin anymore.

7:48 Speaker 2: So my challenge to you today is before you watch anything, even as you step into this month and you watch, or you come across different propaganda and all of those things, or maybe you have close friends who are involved in things that you know are not the right as for the Word of God, I challenge you to be cautious. I challenge you to be filled with discernment so that you will make sure that you live your life not based on what the world says, but live your life based on what the Word of God says.
