0:48 Speaker 2: the Soul with John gifter podcast. Yesterday I was talking

0:52 Speaker 2: to you on an important aspect about how the Word

0:55 Speaker 2: of God should be the standard of our life. Right

0:58 Speaker 2: you are living in a time and age where the

1:00 Speaker 2: there's so many things that are trying to take you aside,

1:03 Speaker 2: drive you away from God, drive you away from the

1:05 Speaker 2: things of the Lord, or make you to compromise, or

1:08 Speaker 2: maybe you can be deceived very easily in this world,

1:11 Speaker 2: which makes you believe that even something that is sin

1:14 Speaker 2: according to God's word can be made to think that

1:17 Speaker 2: it's perfectly fine and it's a good thing, and something

1:21 Speaker 2: that is an abomination in God's side can actually be

1:25 Speaker 2: something that the world celebrates. And we need to be

1:27 Speaker 2: cautious of all of those things. So I want you

1:29 Speaker 2: to understand there's an important aspect where a lot of

1:32 Speaker 2: people fail to understand this that if you need to

1:35 Speaker 2: be victorious, yes, victory comes from God's word. We need

1:39 Speaker 2: to feed on the word. We need to be meditating

1:41 Speaker 2: on the word. I'll talk more on that in the

1:44 Speaker 2: days to come, but one of the things I wanted

1:46 Speaker 2: to understand is people don't understand these basic things now,

1:50 Speaker 2: for example, when you look at Luke Forward. Okay, there's

1:52 Speaker 2: the reason why I want to specifically share this with

1:55 Speaker 2: you guys, because a lot of times we read it

1:57 Speaker 2: in the English translation. This is a moment when Jesus

2:00 Speaker 2: is being tempted by the devil. Right, so we understand

2:05 Speaker 2: this incident where the devil comes to him and says,

2:07 Speaker 2: if you are the son of God, you have to

2:10 Speaker 2: just turn these stones into bread and you will be

2:14 Speaker 2: able to eat, because he knows Jesus was hungry, he

2:17 Speaker 2: had a physical need. And Jesus responds to him saying,

2:22 Speaker 2: it is written that man should not live by bread alone. Right.

2:27 Speaker 2: And the second time again the enemy gives him another idea,

2:31 Speaker 2: and then Jesus responds to him again saying, for it

2:34 Speaker 2: is written, this is what the word says. So we

2:36 Speaker 2: look at it and says Jesus was able to go

2:40 Speaker 2: against the attack of the enemy or the temptation by

2:44 Speaker 2: quoting the scripture. That's how we look at it, right.

2:47 Speaker 2: But I wanted to understand something here. When you look

2:49 Speaker 2: at the aspect of the Word of God, there are

2:52 Speaker 2: two aspects to this. Right. Many people don't realize this

2:54 Speaker 2: because they read it only in English when they use

2:56 Speaker 2: the word word the word of God. But in Greece,

3:00 Speaker 2: in which the New Testament was predominantly written, especially when

3:04 Speaker 2: you look at these scriptures, you have to understand that

3:07 Speaker 2: the word word in itself are of two words okay,

3:11 Speaker 2: and one is called logos okay, which is basically the

3:16 Speaker 2: ratted word of God, and the other is called gramma,

3:19 Speaker 2: which is the spoken word of God. Okay. Now listen

3:23 Speaker 2: to this cafelee. So the first time, when Jesus was

3:25 Speaker 2: responding to Satan and saying, listen, mansion by bread alone,

3:30 Speaker 2: he uses the word it has been written. And if

3:33 Speaker 2: I were to try to read the Greek word for it,

3:36 Speaker 2: it is something like geg grap the gek grap tie. Okay,

3:43 Speaker 2: sorry if I'm pronouncing it wrongly, I'm bad in the

3:45 Speaker 2: pronunciation of these languages. But okay, but I want you

3:48 Speaker 2: to understand the significance of this. Right, he was using

3:51 Speaker 2: the word it has been written. Right when he uses that,

3:54 Speaker 2: it is basically geg grap thie. Okay. So the third time,

4:00 Speaker 2: when Jesus was tempted by the enemy, right, that time,

4:04 Speaker 2: he doesn't say the same word. He uses another word,

4:08 Speaker 2: which is rataigh okay, pronounced something like this, and what

4:13 Speaker 2: it means is it has been said. It has been said.

4:18 Speaker 2: So I want you to pay attention to this. Right

4:21 Speaker 2: in the same passage when we read in English, he

4:23 Speaker 2: just think that, Oh, Jesus just said it is written.

4:26 Speaker 2: It is written. It is written three times, but actually

4:29 Speaker 2: speaking if you see through the lines of the original translation.

4:34 Speaker 2: In the first two instances, Jesus says it has been written.

4:37 Speaker 2: He's quoting scripture. It is written. Man should not live

4:39 Speaker 2: by bread alone. It is written. So he's quoting scripture.

4:44 Speaker 2: But here's the thing I want you to understand. In

4:46 Speaker 2: this context, Jesus is not literally quoting scripture. Because the

4:52 Speaker 2: enemy starts quoting scripture, he says, oh, why don't you

4:56 Speaker 2: just throw yourself off, because it is written. Even the

5:01 Speaker 2: enemy uses the same word, and he's saying that he

5:05 Speaker 2: will make his angels to charge over you. So it

5:08 Speaker 2: is written. The enemy uses the word it is written,

5:11 Speaker 2: for which Jesus replies, saying, for it has been said,

5:18 Speaker 2: er thigh. Okay, And I understand even when Jesus said,

5:21 Speaker 2: for manchellon libery bread alone. But by every word that

5:25 Speaker 2: proceeded from the mouth of God, the word word there

5:28 Speaker 2: is again not logos, not the quoted scripture, the written word,

5:33 Speaker 2: but it is the Rema word. A lot of people

5:36 Speaker 2: today are trying to fight the schemes of the enemy,

5:39 Speaker 2: are trying to fight temptation, are trying to fight the

5:43 Speaker 2: plans of the devil, are trying to deceive them or

5:46 Speaker 2: to cause them to deviate from the standard of God's word,

5:50 Speaker 2: and all of those things. By just quoting scripture, they

5:53 Speaker 2: think like, oh, I just have to read the Bible,

5:55 Speaker 2: I just have to quote See, there is power in

5:57 Speaker 2: the word, no doubt about it. But the truth of

5:59 Speaker 2: the matter is the real power is not in just

6:02 Speaker 2: you memorizing or in you just quoting. Like how you

6:07 Speaker 2: know certain people quote certain dialogues or in terms of

6:11 Speaker 2: like mantras, you would have seen them. They just, you know,

6:14 Speaker 2: like they're just chanting mantras and they're expecting to see

6:18 Speaker 2: a result like that. A lot of people are chanting

6:21 Speaker 2: the word to see some results. But here's the thing

6:24 Speaker 2: I wanted to understand. Every time Jesus was quoting scripture,

6:27 Speaker 2: the devil came back. But the third time Jesus did

6:31 Speaker 2: not quote a scripture, he said, for it is said

6:34 Speaker 2: he was referring to the spoken word, But the minute

6:38 Speaker 2: he referred to the spoken word, the devil left him.

6:42 Speaker 2: This is an important thing I wanted to understand why

6:45 Speaker 2: many Christians are actually living a defeated Christian life despite

6:51 Speaker 2: reading the Bible. Here's the reason they're relying on just

6:55 Speaker 2: the logos word instead of relying on the Rama word.

7:00 Speaker 2: Not expect to see victory in your life if you're

7:03 Speaker 2: only blindly reading the written word without allowing the Holy

7:08 Speaker 2: Spirit to speak to you through that word and bring

7:12 Speaker 2: forth the rama spoken word, which will transform you. See

7:18 Speaker 2: the written word will give you information, but only the

7:21 Speaker 2: spoken word, the rama word, will lead to your transformation. Today,

7:28 Speaker 2: my challenge is, don't blindly read the word, don't just

7:32 Speaker 2: blindly quote scriptures. Don't just keep chanting it. Like how

7:37 Speaker 2: people chant things. They don't even know what they're chanting.

7:40 Speaker 2: They're thinking that there's power in they're chanting. No, No,

7:43 Speaker 2: quoting scripture will not help you. Quoting scripture will not

7:46 Speaker 2: help you in that. See, there's a place for declaration,

7:49 Speaker 2: and you know, declaring the word, that's another thing altogether. Okay,

7:53 Speaker 2: I'm not going against that, but I'm talking with people

7:55 Speaker 2: who are thinking that, you know what, just reading the Bible,

7:58 Speaker 2: just quoting or just term you know, referencing, will have

8:03 Speaker 2: the power. No, the power is not just in doing

8:07 Speaker 2: the written word, which if you are not allowing that

8:10 Speaker 2: written word to actually get into you and bringing forth

8:15 Speaker 2: the rama word out of you, because only that will

8:19 Speaker 2: change you. Because so many times I've seen this, a

8:22 Speaker 2: lot of people just or take some scripture out, they

8:25 Speaker 2: just take something here and then they're like, oh what,

8:27 Speaker 2: you know what, God is not speaking to me? You know,

8:30 Speaker 2: sometimes you keep reading the word and nothing gets into

8:33 Speaker 2: your brain. Maybe you're just reading for information. If you

8:37 Speaker 2: really want to see a transformation when you take the word,

8:41 Speaker 2: say God, I don't want just information. I don't want

8:44 Speaker 2: just mere knowledge. I don't want to just come off

8:47 Speaker 2: and say my checklist for the day is done by

8:50 Speaker 2: me thinking the word, reading the world, reading some passage

8:53 Speaker 2: which I forget in the next ten minutes.

8:55 Speaker 1: I don't want that.

8:56 Speaker 2: Get to that place where you say, Lord, Holy Spirit,

8:59 Speaker 2: they be in involved in me as I read the word,

9:02 Speaker 2: and speak to me through this word. Speak to me

9:05 Speaker 2: through this word, and then you will see the transformation.

9:10 Speaker 2: Then you will see the power of God coming through

9:13 Speaker 2: that word. That's what you see in the life of

9:17 Speaker 2: Jesus when he walked on earth as a man, when

9:20 Speaker 2: he just quoted the scripture, quoted the written word, the

9:24 Speaker 2: enemy came back. But the minute he quoted this spoken

9:30 Speaker 2: word saying it has been said, immediately there was a change.

9:36 Speaker 2: The enemy left him. So today my challenge is, if

9:39 Speaker 2: you want to see victory over your life, victory over

9:43 Speaker 2: your finance, victory over the scheme of the enemy trying

9:46 Speaker 2: to take you away from the plan of God, over

9:49 Speaker 2: your life, trying to steal you, steal His purpose, over

9:55 Speaker 2: your life, or maybe he's trying to take away your

9:58 Speaker 2: loud ones away from him. Whatever be it, I challenge

10:03 Speaker 2: you to get to that place where you don't just

10:08 Speaker 2: sit on the logos. It's time for you to allow

10:13 Speaker 2: the Holy Spirit to breed through the logos and give

10:16 Speaker 2: you the Ramma word, which will sustain you because man

10:20 Speaker 2: shall not live by bread alone, but by every Gramma

10:24 Speaker 2: word that proceeded from the mouth of God. I hope

10:28 Speaker 2: this was a blessing to you, and I just want

10:30 Speaker 2: to say a word of prayer over you that as

10:31 Speaker 2: you read the word, as you feed on God's word,

10:34 Speaker 2: It's all going to be this information for you, but

10:36 Speaker 2: it will be something that will transform you, that will

10:40 Speaker 2: change the trajectory of your life and each one of

10:43 Speaker 2: you as you watch and listen every time you read

10:46 Speaker 2: the word, the Tramma word will come and fill you

10:49 Speaker 2: and will change you for the better. In Jesus name,
