0:46 Speaker 2: Hello everyone, Welcome to this edition of the Fuel for the Soul with John Gifta podcast. If you've been checking out our episodes for this week, we're doing a series on the Holy Spirit and the various aspects of lessons that we can take away in our everyday life. Because I want it on stand. As the world goes towards spenty cost Sunday, the day that we remember when the Holy Spirit came upon the believers as mentioned in the Book of Acts, we have to understand something very important here. Right Sometimes we think, like you know what all that is great.

1:16 Speaker 2: It happened in the Bible times the apostles were moving in power. But the truth of the matter is, many people today are not moving in the same kind of a power. It's very sad to see many Christians living a powerless or defeated life, and then they're wondering why they're not able to be great witnesses for Christ. I wanted to understand something very very important here today. Right when you look at the Bible, in Acts ten, verse thirty eight, this is what it says that Jesus of Nazis was anointed by the Holy Spirit.

1:48 Speaker 2: He was anointed by the Holy Spirit and power, and he went around doing good and healing all those who are under the power of the devil. Now think about this, Jesus, the son of the Living God, when he walked on earth as a man, he had to be anointed by the power of the Holy Spirit. If Jesus needed the Holy Spirit, how much more you and I need the power of the Holy Spirit. See, I want you to understand when you look at scriptures like Romans eight, vers eleven. I love this because it says that the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives on the inside of you and me.

2:25 Speaker 2: I wanted to understand the magnitude of the power that's available. If you look at the Greek word of the power. When you see in the scripture right, especially in the New Testament, the word for power is like the Greek word from which you get the word dynamite. That is the kind of a power, great power. Even if you look at the Acts four, verse thirty three, he talks about how the Apostles operated with great power and great grace was upon them today. I wanted to understand if you really want to be effective like the Apostles, if you really want to make great difference in and through your life, you cannot do that by textbook knowledge.

3:03 Speaker 2: You cannot do that by just you quoting scriptures, memorizing all of that is great, there's a place for all of that. You cannot do that by just doing good works, which is also good. You cannot do that by just influence or mere knowledge. You need the power of the Holy Spirit. See that's why the apostle Paul said, I don't just come by just fancy words. I come with power. My question is are you operating in that power? Because only then you will actually be more effective when you operate with the power of the Holy Spirit, you will be able to see the gifts of the Spirit coming through in and through your life.

3:40 Speaker 2: And I'm telling you how many times have been able to testify about the goodness of God, testify about the reality of our God through these miracles or through the gifts of the Spirit being manifested or operating through my life. So if you throw away all of that and expect to be a witness for Christ, it's not going to happen. That's why the Bible says and Acts one was eight. The Lord was saying it so clearly. Jesus said, you know what, Wait because you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes, and then you will be my witnesses.

4:19 Speaker 2: When Jesus walked on earth, he received the power of the Holy Spirit. He was filled with the Holy Spirit. Then he was able to do good works. Then he was able to hear. Jesus walked on earth as a man like you and me, and he needed the Holy Spirit. How much more you and I need to depend on the Holy Spirit. How much more you and I need to operate knowing that you know what, I'm not living life on my own terms. I need the Holy Spirit. I need the power of the Holy Spirit. I need to move in that, and then you will see the leading of the Holy Spirit.

4:56 Speaker 2: See sometimes I want to understand when we go back to book knowledge, we can just assume you know what I need to do this, I need to do that. But only when you are led by the Holy Spirit, when you are moving in that accordance of how the Holy Spirit wants you to go, you will be more effective than you doing things on your own by theoretical knowledge. I want you to understand some of these terminologies. I may be repeating the next couple of days and even yesterday, but I want you to get this because I want this to become your reality, so that you understand what you carry, you understand who you carry, and you operate in awareness of that, and then you will be effective.

5:40 Speaker 2: Then you will be able to bring souls into the Kingdom, you will be able to take authority over the schemes of the evil One, you will be able to finish your course.
